This week is thanksgiving in the US. Was just talking to someone, no one seems to really celebrate for the reason's the holiday was started. It's basically turned out to be a reunion of sorts with family and overstuffing yourself with turkey and other goodies.

If you take a moment to reflect on your life, things around you, people around you... what are you thankful for?

I've been thinking about this these last few days and have a few things I'm thankful for. What are yours?

I'll post mine later in the evening.

The "reunion of sorts" is the part that many people are thankful for. Many people are rushed these days, and a day devoted to catching up with the family can often be a great experience, especially if that family is separated by many miles the rest of the year.

I'm thankful I have a job with benefits.

I'm thankful I love someone that loves me in return.

I'm thankful I'm off medication.

I'm very thankful for my kids.

I just wish I was able to have a reunion with my family this thanksgiving.

I received this as an email recently ...

Things To Be Thankful For...

The mess to clean after a party...
Because it means I have been surrounded by friends.

The clothes that fit a little too snug...
Because it means I have enough to eat.

My shadow who watches me work...
Because it means I am out in the sunshine.

A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing...
Because it means I have a home.

All the complaining I hear about our government...
Because it means we have freedom of speech.

The space I find at the far end of the parking lot...
Because it means I am capable of walking.

My huge heating bill...
Because it means I am warm.

The lady behind me in church who sings off key...
Because it means that I can hear.

The piles of laundry and ironing...
Because it means I have clothes to wear.

Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day...
Because it means I have been productive.

The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours...
Because it means that I'm alive.

Thanks HK...

Very true!

I'm thankful for the job I just got.
I'm thankful for my boys, their health and well being.
I'm thankful that I have friends that are there for me no matter what.
I'm thankful that at this moment in time I have peace and tranquility.
I'm thankful that I have family and that though we may not all be close geographically, we are close in spirit and mind.
