Thanks

this thread brought to mind all those that were here when I first joined, and how much I loved them, and how very much I miss them all now...

Lewdandlicentious
Tatelou (talking to her on the phone is like having Princess Di phone sex, I swear)
Pops (he shows up occasionally, thank goodness)
Perdita
Charley and Abs aren't around much anymore, damn it....we used to have spontaneous showings of the Lou, Abs, Charley and Cloudy show, and laugh until we cried.
Min's rarely around, neither are Lucky and Vella
and of course, Colly. :(

Thanks everyone. *HUGS*

Cloudy, I miss those people as well.

CD? my first thought on reading your post was, "Abs has taught her grasshopper well." :D

I was a bit drubnk last night and I thought I hadn't said how much I care for the people here often enough. :)
You got drubnk and didn't invite us to join you? Some friend you are! ;)

How 'bout you get drubnk again tonight...only this time with us. We can all put our arms around each other and really thank each other :D

Thanks everyone.

3113? It might have been diva's passing, as a distant trigger. But I was a bit drubnk last night and I thought I hadn't said how much I care for the people here often enough. :)

Phew, I thought you, like, had cancer or something.

Can we sing "Friends in Low Places" really loud, and really off-key?

Oh, wait! Even better...we can sing "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" (by David Allan Coe):

It was all that I could do
to keep from cryin'
Sometimes it seems so useless
to remain
You don't have to call me darlin',
darlin'
You never even call me by my name.

You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings
And you don't have to call me Charlie Pride.
You don't have to call me Merle Haggard,
anymore.
Even though your on my fightin' side.

And I'll hang around as long as you will let me
And I never minded standin' in the rain.
You don't have to call me darlin',
darlin'
You never even call me by my name.

I've heard my name a few times in your phone book
I've seen it on signs where I've Played But the only time I know, I'll hear David Allan Coe
Is when Jesus has his final judgement day.

(spoken): Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song
and he told me it was the perfect country and western song
I wrote him back a letter and told him it was NOT the perfect
country and western song because he hadn't said anything about
Momma, or trains, or trucks, or prison, or gettin' drunk.
Well, he sat down and wrote another verse to the song and he sent
it to me and after reading it, I realized that my friend had written
the perfect country and western song. And I felt obliged to include it
on this album. The last verse goes like this here:

Well, I was drunk
the day my mama
got outta prison.
And I went to pick her up
in the rain.
But, before I could get to the station
in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned old train.

So I'll hang around as long as you will let me
And I never minded standin' in the rain. No,
You don't have to call me darlin',
darlin'
You never even call me,
I wonder why you don't call me
Why don't you ever call me by my name.

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
and ruined yoyr black tie affiar
Teh last one to know, the last ot show
I was the last one you thought you'd see there

I saw the surpruse and teh fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
I toasted you, said baby we maybe thru
but you'll never hear me compalin

***everyody now***

I"ve got friends in low places
where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases
my blues away
and I'll be ok

I'm not big on social graces
Thinks I'l slip on down to the OH asis
Cause I've got frends
In low ow places!

:D

I still like the part in that other song about picking mama up from prison in the rain. :D

I've got a video of me and a friend lip synching to that song during my high school's project graduation. May it never again see the light of day.

Rob, this seems like a good place to say I really like your new av. You look like you're enjoying life.

A  from the good little witch.

I've made amazing friends for life, here. And I've received support and love in abundance. Even those I don't speak to regularly - we get to know each other through our posts, and wherever I go, I find little things that remind me of this place and it's people.

I sometimes wonder if the Lit powers that be have even the faintest idea how much this place meant to us, how many people are touched (in more ways than one) by it's existence, and how lost many would be without their "home".

So, I say thank you, too. For everything.

Great big :kiss:es to you, Rob. Like everyone else, I have to say you've given far more than you've gotten. There are so many of us that love and appreciate you. I can't count the number of times you've helped keep me going when things have looked bleak. So, thanks back to you, Darlin'. :rose:
