Thanks, Biden!!!

You're playing the "just ignore reality" game; I'm not. I'm done. I don't really like your "he owes it to us" and "he's the only hope we've got" mentality.

There's no reason on this green earth that Donald Trump will win this election if rational people get off their fannies and go to the polls. No one should have to pretend that it's Biden or no one--or that Biden will be here and/or functional in four years. Or that he owes it to us (like folks did with Justice Ginsburg) to die in office. What's really irritating is that this could have and should have been taken care of starting early in Biden's term.

It is Biden or bust. The time for Biden to step down was in 2022 and start very publicly grooming Harris for the job. Like to the point that he would be "Acting" as VP only stepping in to add clout to a scenario. He didn't do that and I don't have a time machine. He is the only hope we have unless you really have faith in Harris.

Voters are not rational. I don't believe Biden will be alive in four years but if he dies then we get Harris and a year or so to figure it out. Comparing this to RBG is absurd. PEople are pissed about RBG not doing "The right thing" for the party by stepping down during Obama's time in office and rather early on at that since the Republicans could very easily stall for say a year or more and the public would have bought it. These are not the same situation.

Either way now its too late. Kamala can't really divorce herself from the Biden agenda and dumping Biden requires dumping his agenda. I mean I guess she gets the chance to flip the script on Israel but aside from that we'd be just as well to see if Kristin Cinema is willing to run.

I have no problem with Harris or several other Democrats. That isn't an issue with me.

I think we're still in a pondering stage on what happens at the top of the Democratic ticket. That's so out of my hands that I'll just sit and watch. It isn't changing anything I'm going to do in the election. I'm voting against Trump and every sitting/enabling Republican I encounter on the ballot. I don't think it's down to your scenario being the only thing that can happen.

Joe's agenda, what he's done, what he still wants to get done is what makes people back Joe. If Joe keels over, whoever steps in needs to continue that agenda.

Now that I can get behind. Though I'm not certain there is a fix for that. I mean I barely have the time to dig into the voting records and other relevant backgrounds of the primary candidates let alone the dozens who actually run. So even if I really believed I was a flasless judge of character I would still need to have a lot of knowledge I lack in other places to adequate for that task.

‘100 homes and farms were destroyed’:
Donald Trump wiped out a town to build a new factory that never happened,

now Biden is fixing his failure

A Trump plan that wasn't thought through properly? We're shocked. Shocked! Well, not that shocked.

In 2017, then-President Donald Trump announced with great fanfare that Foxconn, the Taiwanese electronics giant,
would build a massive $10 billion factory in Wisconsin. The deal was touted as a game-changer that would bring 13,000 jobs
to the state and revitalize American manufacturing. Trump called it the “eighth wonder of the world.”

Mount Pleasant bought up around 3,000 acres for the Foxconn project and borrowed around $350 million for building the
infrastructure and buying lands. Fast forward to 2021, and the reality has proved quite different from the grandiose promises.
The Foxconn factory site in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin sits largely empty and the buildings that have been constructed are a far cry from the sprawling high-tech campus originally envisioned.

Going towards a thousand posts of accomplishments, mostly news articles with some banter mixed in.

Thanks, Biden, for pulling us out of the mess left by the chaotic Trump years, and then recognizing that it was time to turn national leadership over to the next generation.

You are a class act, who values the national interest over personal power.

Thanks, Biden, for demonstrating that “old fashioned” Keynesian economics works.

The USA economy came out of the pandemic stronger than any other developed nation. Suck on that, trickle-down nitwits.

6,200,000 more jobs than pre-COVID.
Longest run of low unemployment since the 1960s.
Inflation quashed: 0% in May and June.

Good morning Coati 🙂

Since you deal with and talk to many, a lot, a fair few of the younger generations, can you give us an update - when you hear them talk - of what they are thinking about the Harris switch out? Voting enthusiasm levels etc.

I can tell you that my tiny sample of my 3 kids are more enthusiastic with Kamala in the race.

So far, I have witnessed more enthusiasm from young and middle aged females than any other demographic. I was at a rural community center yesterday afternoon and evening, and women were glued to the tube, very unusual for late on a Sunday evening.

They were still watching the big screen TV when I left at 9 PM. Even their teenage daughters were hanging out in the TV area rather than at the community center pool with their friends. This is very unusual for a summer night.

Finally young people appear to have an option for generational change. This development is a ray of hope for them. It provides a much more stark contrast between the two Presidential candidates.

I am 1800 millions kind of glad that you seem to be right and that I seem to have been wrong.

(Knock wood 😁)

Well that's good. I've always been part of the club that stuff this early isn't that important. I hope she has some support I haven't seen just yet.

Harris won't be infallible as President; no-one is. I DO hope she has learned enough on the job under Biden to perform well and to have enough maturity/wisdom/humility to choose a running mate to complement her and bring strength to any areas of weakness she may have.
