I think I may be ready to post a picture, Can anyone think of a way to get it from my phone to the internet? I really want to avoid any pictures going thru my computer. I tried taking a plain pic and deleting it but still was able to find it. I have a very tec savy son who does not need to see "those" kind of pictures of his mom

You could try using a flash drive to store pictures and keep it in a secret place. If you save them all to the flash drive and disconnect when finished, no trace should be left on your PC.
I'm sure some lit members have many other ways to keep your pics safe and secure.

When you delete the picture did you empty your recycle bin?

Here is a simple trick...

Take a picture, download it, and save it as: laurenann_test.jpg

First - delete the picture
Second - empty your recyce bin
Third - You are going to do a search on your computer for a file. This can be done one of two ways...
Look at you computer keyboard... on the bottom row (usually the second or third key from the left) you will see a key that has the "windows" symbol on it. Hold that down and at the same time press the "s" key. This will bring up a "search" window.
OR
You can go to the start menu and look for the search command.
Fourth - Type in the name of the file (in this it will be laurenann_test.jpg)
Fifth - delete any instances of that file name that shows up when you search
Six - Repeat steps two, three, and four. This time it should show no files.

Let me know if that works!!!

If he is curious about the things you do at the computer, then he already knows everything he shouldn't, including the contents of this thread. There is no privacy if you share a computer with someone who knows more about computers than you do.

No I can clear from my tracks from here, he wouldn't go looking we share a pc and does a lot with pictures and grafics. I will play and test tonight. I just hoped there would be a way to go from phone to web

can you text it to an email account for yourself... make up a hotmail account for yourself? does your phone plan allow for it?

does your phone have a microSD card where the pics are stored... you could upload them from there via your computer... and bypass actually putting it on your computer

That's what I was going to suggest, save for the Hotmail part. You don't even have to have a plan with internet if your phone will work with a wifi connection. I email pics from my Touch-like thingy to a secondary gmail account all the time, though they still end up going through my computer.

However, if you have an iphone or similar, you can see if there's a free app/utility that allows you to upload directly to an image hosting site. I recently downloaded an app that allows me to upload right to my Picasa account. From the hosting account, you can hotlink the image(s) [there are detailed instructions on doing so in the FAQs sticky thread near the top of the main How To page], thus bypassing your computer altogether.
