dcraz, you're at 69 posts! grats lol

Mogwau7,

Wow. Thanks for the reminder. I had no idea really.

Excpet that I have been at it fast a furious tonight. Not trying to rack up logs, just got into a couple of wild threads with some very special ladies. Was like when you are fishing and you hit a school? You cant reel them in fast enough? Well I was typing as fast as I could tonight.

Still a newbie here on Lit with lots to learn. But fortunately, I have found a couple for lovely mentors to help me along.

Yup! But don't worry, they don't generally cause much harm, but they sure keep you heated up! ;)

Well, I got a bit chilled last night so I suppose the blanket monster didn't pay me a visit. darn it.

Good morning to all

A hearty good morning to the Texas thread!

I am firing on all cylinders today. Not sure why given how late I was up last night. But the sun is shining and it looks like it will be a wonderful start to the 3 day weekend.

Everyone be safe!

Just dropping in to say hello to all fellow Texans,,and hope all of you have a happy and safe holiday weekend...

Back from work

I am wiped out and headed for the rack! I just got back and showered from my new job, gasoline delivery in Austin. My trainer works midnight to noon and I really couldn't sleep yesterday, so I am just draggin' ass here! Looks like I am going to like it, especially when I get done training and get on my 0500 to 1700 shift.

Belle, you do not know how good it is to see you and know what is going on in your life. I still say we and our 'others' need to get together for a steak and and copius amounts of adult beverages, I am eager to get to know y'all better! A door is open in Austin for you anutime!

Blue, easy on coming back to the land of solid foods babe! Your doc recommends stuff for a reason....... but I am glad you are coming back.

Speaking of reason, I have lost mine due to fatigue and am going to bed........

Goodnite Texas, enjoy your gasoline!

Glad you're firing on all cylinders!

It is a gloriously beautiful albeit HOT south Texas day here.

Have a good, and as DC says, SAFE weekend!

Hugs to you all...

I hope you don't get hijacked for the gas in your tanker! Hope you get on "your" shift soon!

Yeah, I know...I know. I just got sooo tired of soft stuff. I try to take it easy. I just hope the doc doesn't ask me what I've been eating! lol

Get some rest, sweetie. Take care

Blue . . . don't make me come there and get all motherly on you. I'm starting to feel maternal instincts and mothering everyone up here :)

hello everyone. Blue Daisy, girl, listen to what everyone is saying and consider easing up on the throttle just a bit. I think you have to take this recovery in steps and I know you want so much for it to be over, but rushing things is just going to set you back. I don't think that would be worth it. Take GOOD care of yourself! {{hugs}}

Rain.... so much rain... *stares at water threatening to flood his home*

Going to be a long weekend with this storm... Anyone got a boat? lol

(Those in H-Town should know of the rain I speak of...)

Dude, we just moved from Freeport to Austin, that reason was one of many why we moved. I really hope you stay dry! Good luck to you.....

Just wanted to say hey to everyone...I will be moving to San Antonio in a couple of months. With all the friendly folks that way, Im starting to really look foward to it.

Morning Blue...

Yes. It started about 10 last night and hasn't stopped since. I think it's expected to continue for another couple of days. So much for mowing my lawn THIS weekend. I feel like I'm trapped in an old '50s monsoon movie set.

Hope you're high and dry Mogwai7. Good luck!

Must be all that clean livin' I've been doing :D

The rain from the front out west peetered out before it hit the edge of the hill country and the rain from tropical storm Grace did not get any further north or west than Austin. In other words, we did not get but a sprinkle all weekend out Burnet/Llano way. Which meant plenty of sun and fun on the water this holiday weekend.

Hope everyone made it home safe!

arrrgguuuuhhhhh! The 4kin air went out. That's 3 Augusts in a row....well this one made it to September.
I've got to get up for work at 5:30 am and it's already 1:50. I'm sitting here wrapped in a sheet with the windows open feeling all sticky.

With me just going back to work we are so broke. Has anyone ever used one of those water cooled systems for shops and such? They've got one at lowes for 350.00 or so.

plano here

and txbelle water cool air would not work inless you live in west texas where the air is dry

TxBelle,

So very sorry to hear about your a/c problems. My went out 3 weeks ago. Was out of air for 3 days. And then it cost me $2,000! Ouch!

And I'm sorry to say, I have more bad news. The water cooling systems work ok if it is fairly dry (i.e. low hudity). The cooling effect is a result of the evaporation of the water vapor in dry climates like the desert. Unfortunately, they do not work well at all if you live in a humid climate. They are also loud and tend to make things around them very moist (due to the water vapor that may or may not be getting evaporated). Definitely not recommended for indoor use. At least I would not think so.

It HAS cooled off a little here in central Texas. Hope things work out for you soon.
