Um, I believe I'm on the western, maybe even northwestern, sector of Houston. More along the lines of Katy. And I think it's more of a redneck city than Houston itself, but that's just my opinion.

There is a new thread started by someone who wants to relocate away from the Northern New York... I already submitted a few reasons to move to Texas, but I believe my recommendation would carry more wieght if others chimed in...

So, why should someone move to your individual part of Texas?

(Or, for those folks stuck in one of the few problems areas... why should someone choose a different part of the state?)

Since he's in Northern NY the weather is one reason. Even with the summer's we have here prefer heat to cold anyday.

Houston is very diverse and even with the recent Enron fiasco there is work to be found.

On any given weekend you can find something fun to do.

We are more varied than it sounds here ...

Yes, many of us *ARE* East Texas rednecks, but there are big differences between east, north, west, central and south Texas. The Eastern Texas folk seem to think the state line is somewhere a bit west of Paris, but this is a big place with a bunch of different people from many different waves of migration. It is hard to believe El Paso and Longview are in the same state.

BTW -- I was born within the boundaries of the Republic of Texas but not within the federal State of Texas. AM I a Texan by birth?? DOes it matter at all??

Will someone PLEASE tell me why there are no women from the Dallas-Fort Worth area here?? We have so many lovely women in this state, and also many lovely lady Texans that are Lit members, but what happened to all the DFW women?

The Texas Lit-together picnic is coming up in a few weeks in the Dallas area. ARaynes is organizing it and she knows who's coming, but I was wondering if anyone here will be attending?
