Hell - I'd go, but I always attract too much attention at biker bars.

Within 30 min of me showing up, everyone ends up trying to figure out who the clown with the 21 speed mountain bike parked outside is, and before I know it, I'm getting stuffed into a booster seat at the far end of the bar and being breast-fed by .... (waitaminute! - this isn't sounding half bad!)

Mostly, though, the many fine drinking/entertainment establishments in Fort Worth always seem to scoop up my beverage dollars before I can make it to the county line. (But they've promised they're going to give me a waiver so I can export cash to the Sept. Lit-Together.)

Ok so the new bar is nice. If anyone ever decides to have a good time in Lewisville I recommend the Thunder Horse. Anyway my hubby won tickets there for the damn Jam on Sunday. He and I went and got to see Poison. Then as we were leaving we were handed tickets to Whitesnake/Winger/Warrant/& Slaughter. My hubby had sense enough to ask if the kind lady had three more to spare since we have 3 little guys we wanted to take. She smiled and handed over three more tickets! How cool is that? 7 free concert tickets within 24 hours!

Hey there, fellow Texans! Just working on getting caught up on a weeks' worth of mail and threads.

I saw the posts about prayers for me, guys, and I'm so appreciative. I guess they worked, because I'm here! I posted a follow-up to my pre-op thread (darn if I can remember what I called the new one...lol). but I do appreciate the prayers, good thoughts, etc.

For those of you who don't know, I had a gastric bypass last Tuesday, 7/15. I'm doing well, considering that my innards have been folded, spindled and mutilated (and if that phrase isn't familiar to you, you're much younger than I!).

I'm just tired of a liquid diet. I'm ready for some real food...even if it will have to be blenderized for another week or so. So bring on the pureed Hamburger Helper! LOL!

Did someone go on a tubing trip without me? Or what was that all about?

Damnewc....pretty cool description of your favorite diety (my diety of choice, too, btw).

Take care, fellow Texans and I hope that I'll be able to make it up to the DFW LitTogether. Just darn it, I won't be able to get drunk this time. I don't think the ones I've already met at previous gatherings will recognize a sober Blue!

Always start with strawberries and bananas in the blender and it usually turns out great no matter what you do... haha If you haven't read yet, I'm new here and enjoying the company bye the way, what's up with what I'm hearing about a "lit together" for DFW? when/what is that? oh, and anyone having get togethers in Houston or Austin/S.Antonio? Oh, and let's get to talkin' all my fello Houstonians/Texans! there is sooooo much fun to be had in numbers (insert devious grin here )

Strawberries and nanners in the blender. Yum! I need to get some stuff and get busy making some protein smoothies so I'll have hair come Sept. lol (this surgery I had frequently causes loss of hair due to lack of enough protein in the diet).

Actually, I'm just hanging out on here to meet folks. I don't have any sort of expectations, truthfully. And all I was looking for was some folks to hangout with and have a drink or two with. No worries. I certainly wasn't disappointed.

Plus, I'm new. Not like folks are going to jump up to hangout with someone they don't have a clue about. At least generally speaking.

Steve and I are taking the boys to the Whitesnake concert this weekend so I'll be busy this saturday but I'll beat I'd be ready for a drink friday after work.
