Good morning my Texas pals! What do you think of my new TX AV? Borrowed hubby's shirt while he was out of town last night!

I think this one is a keeper for quite a while!

verrrry nice AV, Kate. You and Blue certainly have a way with them.

I tried to put an AV on, but it didn't let me - maybe I haven't posted enough - still being a <ahem> virgin here and all.

Rich

30 post change your title from Virgin to Experienced.

100 post before you can do an AV

Don't remember, but maybe 300 or it's 500 that you can put whatever title you want. You have to get past experienced, and really experienced.

1000 for a title . . . that's my goal in life ;)

You can get there Melli! I did - and I don't post that much.

I've been registered a long time for my post count. But I was registered for about a year before I found the bulletin boards - was too busy reading and writing stories I guess.

Ooohhh...you gotta watch this one, Mel...he'll charm the pants off you....literally if he can! lol. Mike is a sweetie. I look forward to meeting him at the LitTogether.

LOL as long as he remembers I'm easy . . . .not cheap ;) All this talk about the Lit together and I'm so wishing I could make it. Darn Hastings and never having time off :)

Oh my! that IS sad.
Well, you are definitely to be commended, hon. You should be proud of yourself.
How many more kids are at home? Are you the oldest?
Hey....you graduate in about a month! woo hoo! Be sure and let us know when that happy event occurs! What will your degree be in?

Two more at home. I'm the oldest by 10 yrs. I think mom and dad were going for the built in babysitter. I graduate May 10th with my BA in psychology :)

I only found the boards about a month ago . . . so my post count isn't too bad . . I'm amazed at the people who get like 100 posts in a day. I've seen quite a few start after me and pass me quickly.

BTW: I think the new AV is great. I spaced for a minute and it took the sig line to recognize you :)

Thanks, Mike. I'll probably use it again before long, when I'm not posting to that other thread. lol

Well....ok. Something to look forward to then!

Mike - AVs are like clothing for some women - we change them often!!!

Well, could you find someone to work for you? It would be so neat if you could manage to come.

LOL about your parents. I'm the baby; my sibs are 13 and 15 years older than I.

Changing AV's

Well then let's get changing! I am liking what I am seeing!

Mike

The Lit-Together sounds like fun!

I just finished 7 weeks of travelling pretty much all over Texas AND parts of OK, KS, MO, and AR. Even spent 5 days down in SA.

If I had an excuse to make the trip again, I'd sure be tempted to go. I think I'm supposed to be meeting some friends from OK at Scarborough Faire that weekend anyway, though.

Hope we get some good reports on the goings on - from "who ate where" to "who drank what" to "who accidentally blurted out what" to "whose hands where found where - and with what".

And of course, as any good writer would - if you run out of facts, make some good ones up.

Maybe us DFWees can connect up with each other sometime for a confab.

Rich

You need to look for Marksgirl - she's the Lit Den Mom for your area. (Lit Den Mom's are what those of us who put together the parties are called!)

Marksgirl is in the DFW area. I don't think they've had a get-together yet - they are due - start working on her to put it together!
(Just don't tell her I told you!!!)

Well, would be nice if you could come here, but I understand the draw of the Renn Faire.

I'll put a bug in MarksGirl's ear about you being interested.

Thanks for the heads-up, Kate ..... Ummm ... not that you told me or anything. (la-la-la-la .... )

Btw - everytime I see your sig, I'm reminded of one of my favorite quotes from Thoreau - "Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after."

Rich

and thanks for the bug in her ear, Blue :)

I like your sig line!!!

There is an actor Kate, he played an outlaw in the movie "Silverado" and Don Johnson's dad on the tv show "Nash Bridges" as as as numerous other movies and tv appearances. A Houston country radio station hired him to do a bunch of promotional one liners, that was one of them..... We were all in the car one day and they played that particular promo, and my 6 yr old son annouced, "That's false advertising!!!!". It was my favorite quote from then on........:D
