Oh Noes Texas Might Vote To Secede! Whatever Shall We Do?

Ready your handkerchiefs, for the great state of Texas is once again considering leaving us…for about the 80 kajillionth time. As of Friday, 22 Republican conventions in the state passed a resolution calling for the state convention to have an official vote on secession. This is up from 2012, when only one convention passed such a resolution. This December, these same folks tried to pass a measure to let Texas voters decide if they want to secede.

The secession push has been led by the Texas Nationalist Movement (because nothing bad has ever come out of a group with “Nationalist” in it’s moniker), which, from what I can determine, believes that things are just getting too “Marxist” up in here or something.

Of course, given that secession is still considered a pretty unpopular idea and also not really a legal one, it’s likely to be shot down at the actual state convention.

Yeah the First Cavalry Division at Ft. Bliss may have something to say about that.:D

Houston Chronicle reached out to GOP officials in the counties listed by the Nationalist Movement. Ten responded and all confirmed passage of the resolutions. An official count should be available from the Republican Party of Texas in early May.

The Houston Chronicle’s Dylan Baddour wrote that the fact that at least 10 counties are coming to the state convention supporting independence resolutions makes it difficult for party leaders to sweep this under the rug. It’s possible there will be some kind of a vote on the floor.

Do they try for this, every year ?

It would be good for Texas....

It would suck for the US, mostly because they wouldn't take the rest of the south with them.

Other than being unconstitutional and provoking another war, Texas can't afford to pay off their federal debts and maintain their own border security. If they could pay shit off, let'em go and sayonara, motherfuckers. No fucking loss. Y'all ever been there? Total fucking wasteland. Don't even have interesting cacti and their beer sucks toads. Adios, Tex-ass.

1) Texas has no federal debt. They send more to the Feds than they get back. They owe the Feds zero.

2) Who do you think already spends hundreds of millions on border security now.

3) No Government entity in Texas has any debt other than for capital improvements. (Bonds) The State of Texas has $8,000,000,000 in it's rainy day fund, i.e., savings. The state's constitution does not allow borrowing.

4) Texas' Gross Domestic Product is equal to Australia's

So K.M.A. Mo-Fo

Well, OK then. Bye. But I think you're undervaluing the federal benefits the state enjoys and would have a rude awakening. But I don't mind if you did. Sort of the same way I feel about Libertarians. I'm game for them to find out what it would really mean.

Texas would be better off money wise. Sorry themz the facts.

The only thing bad about it for them would be the US going "OH GOD YOU CAN'T LEAVE WE WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!" .....seriously .

Yea land wise it's a shit hole but people don't got to TX for the scenery or climate, they go there to make money. And that is exactly why the fed will never let them go.

OH do tell what are the federal benefits that Texas gets....I gotta hear this shit.

Tell me how Texas is better off with less money and a bunch of mother fuckers from CA/NY telling them how to do shit.

A Naval carrier fleet and F-22's are about it......and guess which state those get built in?? ;)

How many destroyers can Texas buy to protect its coast? For starters.

What's the relevance to military stuff being made in Texas? They don't pay for it. It's part of what their state receives in federal money.

We have here yet another dude who isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

It already has some, but if it needed more I'm sure it could push a few out of it's ass....the build them just outside Houston last I checked.

They also have the friendly fighter factory out in Ft.Worth, shit tons of guns, ammo/MREs/Hummers are all made in TX.

In fact if you let them go they would probably do a better job at securing their border than the feds have.

Again, they are paying for those fighters or the federal government pumps money into the Texas economy to more than pay for them? And who pumps money into the Texas economy for the bases they would be flown out of by pilots paid by the U.S. Government?

You seem a bit slow on the uptake. Not a surprise.

I have enough of your shallow thinking.

Yea and you don't think Texas could cover that? I mean we are only talking 120 million each...R&D is done.

Bases aren't that expensive to maintain and TX has it's own AF pilots, Marines and Army....soooo yea.

You fail horribly because you've never done the homework and thought you could just poke fun at the nutty Texans.

The real linchpin in the whole leaving bit is trade/bidnizz. The boycotting and thus cutting off TX from being able to do business with the US/rest of the 1st world.

If they were allowed to go without having to fight the planet to do so, they would likely do quite well for themselves.

 says the guy who didn't realize TX is a rather large giver and already has it's own military LOL

Try being less ignorant next time there snobby hater of the working class.

Other than being unconstitutional
You're as wrong as the war criminal Lincoln, it's great that Texas is going to do this... hopefully other States will follow.

Then when the US government is gone, the States can form a better Union.

and provoking another war, Texas can't afford to pay off their federal debts and maintain their own border security. If they could pay shit off, let'em go and sayonara, motherfuckers. Texas send more money to D.C. than it gets back.

You're a weak faggot in don't belong in the US.

If they have the factories, workers, and materials, they can build there own.

Also, why the hell do they need F-22s? Raptors were built to fight an enemy that does not exist, older fighter jets are fine.

Bout fucking time you were right on something you filthy dirt back hippy!

Texas has oil.
If they leave the union then they become fair game.
No way pussies in America could beat Texas. All you bastards are soft and weak, not real Americans like in Texas.

They send a few Texas Rangers over to the White House and sort out that boy real quick, with a nice public hanging.

Yap yap yap like a lil chihuahua squid dog....

Texas has some money and they would do well if they were allowed to peacefully, but they can't take on the rest of the states.

They should let TX leave under the condition they take the rest of the south with them. It would be a good deal for the rest of the US.

BB if you're going to keep quoting him you could at least adjust his name on the quotes to R-A FOBBIT17 or RA Bigot17. Then at least it would be funny. As it is it makes me having him on iggy useless.

They carry that stable on their backs. Without Texas going Red who cares what the rest of the South wants?

They would still be a pain in the ass and should go with their kind just to make things easier.

Oh I don't deny they'd be annoying but with Texas out of the picture that's a serious kick to the scrot for em.

That's the kind of kick where even the guy doing the kicking doubles over in pain and rolls on the floor for several hours.

Ahh, but then Texas wouldn't be participating in US elections. Hmm...

It's not the Fed's choice.

So what kind of ointment do you use for your sore asshole as a professional faggot?
