I like people. I have a fairly irrepressible ability to find a way to like individuals. He and I have had some fun chats about guns and stuff like that over the years.

I think his racism is of the lazy variety, rather than the malicious. He uses it as a button to get a reaction, which is pathetic, but I very much doubt he would say or do anything to harm someone in person because of their skin color.
