Trying to plan a get together b4 the end of summer. Any suggestions as to dates and times and places to meet from any in and around Austin that would like to come on out. Would love to get to know everyone

Suggest you do a search on the threads for previous Lit-togethers in Austin for ideas that worked well.

Number One rule of planning a successful gathering is to not ask everyone's opinion. That will result in as many opinions as posts, many of whom will get feelings bent out of shape and your positive event will turn south.

If you're organizing, then pick a date and place that works well for you and CALL IT. Those who can attend will and those who can't, will wish they could.

I've organized 4 formal gatherings, several informal ones and attended about 8-10 all together. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Also, please search for Nora's famous post on litogethers. It was priceless.
