Happy Friday all!

wtex, I hope you're back on your feet quickly. A day watching old westerns sounds pretty good, though. :)

Thanks mouthy, that's mighty nice of you. I'll be high stepping by tomorrow.:D

Just drive everywhere in reverse.....then they will think you have a rear plate. Surprised you didn't think to do this!

Tx law is for plates on front & rear. I checked. Fortunately the Tax Assessor's office is open 'til 5:30 and the replacement fee is only $7.

Now I just gotta figure out a route that gets me there w/o using any major thoroughfares.

Really? Last year when I bought my new vehicle, the dealership asked me if I wanted the front plate attached. I said yes, because that's what I thought the law was. Wonder why they asked that?

They knew you secretly wanted some handcuff action :p

For your foot, wtex :)

SB, I think you should just get a blinky light and a siren, living in Austin :D

Thank you Collar.....you are a sweetie. I'm floating on pain pills but the foot is doing well. Had lots of major mobility problems this last year and kept putting off going back to dr. The problem was minor this time, and I will be up and going in the morning.

Still wish that nurse had offered to come home with me. LOL

This has been the law for quite a while, and my SUV at the time did not even have a place on the front for the licence plate. I think the dealer had told me not to worry about it.

handcuff action seems more reasonable in the court of law:D

Because they're auto dealers and not law enforcement representatives.
Similar thing happened to a buddy and me a few years back in CC; cop pulled us over for the truck having too dark a window tint, even though the tint was put on at the dealership.
Fortunately, for me, it was neither my truck nor was I driving. Cost my friend $150 for court fees and defensive driving, which was better than the $250 fine.

Tollways would capture your arse either way.

No, I'm going to continue to operate in stealth mode in public. The less attention I draw, particularly from the folks with badges & guns, the simpler my life stays.
