Texas Flood

As soon as our bigly tax breaks and $6000 senior deduction and tax breaks on overtime, social security, and tips end in our hands we’ll be all over those donations for disasters that FEMA could have handled if DOUCHE hadn’t slashed funding and trump sycophants hadn’t gifted the rich with the sudden windfall from cutting programs for those in need, including medical insurance coverage.

fema would have instructed its people to not save the white christian girls.

“The actions of this employee are unacceptable, and it is not indicative of the culture of FEMA, and I do not believe that there is a widespread cultural problem,” Criswell said at the Transportation and Infrastructure hearing. “I have directed ongoing investigations, working with the (Homeland Security inspector general), working with the Office of the Special Counsel, and if we find any other acts of similar behavior, we will take appropriate disciplinary measures.”

Non-issue. :)

Death toll up to 59 including 21 children

On X this morning I saw a slew of posts saying this is what Texas deserves and to drown all the republicans out there.

I know this isn't how everyone feels, but on the other hand it just proves that there is nothing more vile, disgusting, and hate filled than the unhinged left. We have a few of them here.

They're beyond sick, they're rabid.

No proof of what she says was posted on Twitter(?) (by who??) but she definitely calls the other side “rabid”

Who voted to defund the weather service? They are taking no responsibility. They all have my “thoughts and prayers” That’s their answer. Me? I was happily funding their storm warnings. Has Trump sent his thoughts and prayers to the fire fighters in Idaho? If so, it was a footnote.

Has Trump denied financial aid as he did(?) in LA?? Clearly someone keeps building homes in the wrong places. Hard to rake yourself out of a wall of water. We’re raking all over CA now. Are the Feds raking their forests ???

But! Hey!! They Houston gets a space shuttle! That’s gonna help !! Did their reps get a load of Trump signed crap as well??
Houston, being blue (?), hopefully didn’t support any of this

Why continue voting against one's best interests?

Honestly people non- rightists are just about done giving a shit about people who can't tell their own asses from their heads.

The official forecast was of six inches of rain. Six fucking inches, and nobody thought it might get a bit wet next to the river.

But, blame old satellites that the great liar will replace with new technology.

Consider also that there was an ongoing drought in the area, so the ground was hard as rock and wouldn’t absorb ANY amount of rainfall.

A flash flood was inevitable. The local MAGAts in charge should have been well aware of the potential for this kind of flooding event and preemptively evacuated along the river.

Also:

Rapid intensification of storms due to climate change should be well understood by now. If seven inches of rain was forecast, there was obviously the potential for the storm to drop a fuckton more.

Also:

The cuts to the NWS could have played a part as well. Apparently, two key positions tasked with that region of Texas were unstaffed the night of the storm. It sounds like the NSW still did its job to the best its ability, but maybe two more big brains and sets of eyes in key positions may have led to a flash flood warning being issued sooner, and a subsequent evacuation order for those along the river.

Now it is what it is.

🤬

We. Told. Them. So.

Nonsense. San Antonio NWS forecast office had its meteorologist-in-charge and -- most important -- its hydrologist after the DOGE cuts. The latter is the person with the most responsibility for creating and overseeing flood warnings and flood warning programs at that office.

The two open positions are 8 am to 4:30 M-F positions that would have made no difference on a holiday weekend.

And of course not a single one of you worthless cocksuckers have bothered to reach into your own pocket to donate. No, it's more fun to sit around and bitch about someone else not doing enough. What a pack of pathetic pieces of shit you all are.
How do you know this? Much less the rest of your statement being true?

What is your view of someone who posts 'The only good Democrat is a dead Democrat'?

The NWS was adequately staffed (additional staffing was on hand due to increased urgency) and sent out four notices.
4pm - flood watch
11:40pm - flood warning
1am - flood warning with immediate.alerts for affected areas (mobile alerts)
5:30am - flood emergency (with more targeted mobile alerts)

All four warned of low areas to move to higher ground. The last three targeted specific areas of urgent focus.
