rain rain go away!!!
Yes we did reverse the drought and had a record breaking month of JUNE - and july has started of with MORE RAIN.

The brazos river is full - and overflowing in parts - close to me.

Heard the Red River and Trinity are also full.

And here California is in a drought - can we send some of the rain there way???

Hope everyone that can stays dry!

:cattail:

It's getting harder and harder to stay dry around these parts. Damn frustrating weather

very true Charmed -

the sun was shining - and thought good - the Tank (my dog) has been cooped up in the house all week cause of the rain - so loaded him up and headed out to the park.

Before we made it across town to the park - the showers came down!!!!!!!!

Lightening - Thunder - Rain - YUCK

So came back to the house - yes it was raining now on our side of town also - had to cross the brazos to get home - it is moving so fast and lots of trash from the flooded homes & such along the way!

they say it may stop by the 4th - At least we hope - this year we can have fireworks - last year with the drought - we couldn't!

I read yesterday that in one week, Central Texas has had enough rain to reverse the past 2-year drought ...and then some.

Holy Toledo!

not all of Central Texas - where I am we've had some good rain, but nothing realy bad, but Marble Falls (just west of Austin) had 18" in 8 hours...basically a little less than one years worth of rain in 8 hours LOL

Glad to hear that you've not floated away yet. :rose:

I just wanted to say hello to all the wonderful texans on this thread . . . live in Dallas myself.

And yes the rain has sucked, but it was a necessary evil I think =(

Welcome to the boards. There are a LOT of Texans around. Do a search and you'll see.

Hello - welcome to the boards.

maybe the only good thing about the rain is that it is now August - and we haven't had any days over 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weather used to be 'interesting,' now it is crazy AND dangerous

LOL give it another 6 mo and it'll be interesting again and everyone will be begging for rain again .....

Wow.

I was 38 when I first posted on this thread. I am now 46. Who'd've thunk it'd still be around?

Contemplating a Lit comeback; any thoughts? In the meantime, 46 MWM in San Antonio who doesn't mind dipping the pen into different inkwells. ;)

Wow....

What a blast from the past! I hadn't thought about this site in years until I got the "new message" email tonight. In keeping with the spirit of the thread.... I am 32, in San Antonio, single, no kids.

Welcome back to the thread and to Lit! :)

Interesting to see all the talk about rain and floods at the top of this page. Seems like eons ago. We can't seem to do anything in moderation down here.

Wow, you're right. They said on the news that 2007 and 2010 were the only years in the last 10 we haven't been in drought conditions though.

The desert is pressing eastward. We'll all be living in the Trans-Pecos in a few years. (Fortunately, I'm rather fond of cacti and javelinas.)
