I'd go. Who's gonna set it up?

2004 on checks

Well, since I work in a bank, I make sure I put 2005 so the check will still be valid

Considering I know of people who have gotten checks back from their banks (that passed through) that weren't even signed, I find this comical. ;) I know that it was an accident at the time and the check was genuine in this case, but you have to admit the irony. :D

LOL You could sign your check Mickey Mouse and 9 times out of 10 it'll go through

I was signing checks on one of my dads accounts after he went into the nursing home and found out 2 months later that it was the account I didn't have signatory on LOL no checks bounced back at me LOL

They pay no attention to the sig until something comes up. I had checks stolen and forged where the person signing them spelled my name wrong.

My bank argued with me, asking me if I was sure I had not written those checks, they put my account overdrafted to the tune of 450. I assured them I had not and pointed at the spelling of my name and the lady actually looked embarassed that she hadn't caught it.

Amount

I had someone change the $20.00 to $200.00, and it was cashed, even though they hadn't changed the
Twenty and 00/100s Dollars part.

They credited my account, teller got in trouble, but it wasn't enough money for them to go after the real crook, the person who changed the check.

Oh well. Karma will get them one day.

I wonder how much is enough. My forged checks totaled around 600 plus another 200 in fees and the cops did nothing. I even told them who did it, he admitted it to a mutual friend who called the detective and told him.

Well, we are from Texas, I suppose we could do the posse (read that word again) thing, and go vigilante on those folks...

bank stuff

Of course, I realize that a lot of things with the banks are screwy, actually working at one. For example, we were having a contest for a paid day off of our choice and all we had to do was balance our cash drawer for two months. Between all of the branches, over 100 between Texas and Oklahoma, only our branch and one other were still in the running. Of course, I watch Sesame Street every morning to make sure I remember how to count.

And we actually did have somebody have some checks forged that overdrew his account. We ended up reimbursing him all of it and covering the fees and we went after the guy, even though it was about $300 in forged checks.

I think some of it depends on the bank and how loud you are about it. My brother stole my parents' checks and forged around $400 worth and they persecuted him....as a minor, but he still went to Juvie and all that.

BTW, everyone...I graduate January 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOO happy!!!!!! I have found someone to room with and the rent is good.

:D

Hey! Don't forget us San Antonio Litizens! We like to party as much as the rest of you do *pout*

Howdy, my fellow Texans. Hope you're all doing ok. I'm starting off the year as a semi-single mom. Hubby and I separated, and I've got our 11 year old son with me. I've also got one of our 19 year old daughters, but since she is a paying roommate, I don't know if that counts as "having her with me" like my son is. Dang...call me the Queen of the Run-on Sentence! lol

I could use a LitTogether. Will seem odd going without hubby, though. Someone will have to be elected to keep me from drinking myself into a stupor! I would like to be able to actually remember the event. lol

Tell me, Melli....how are two drunk women supposed to moderate each other's drinking? Sheesh, we'll just be encouraging each other to "have another one", lol

Hugs, sweetie. Miss chatting with you.

Just like the song...."Big Balls in Texas" Been in the Dallas area all my 40 some odd years. It seems the wife decided that she is not interested in sex anymore and has left this Cowboy to fend for himself. I am very open minded and very open to any envitation.

I did not mean to slight the fine SA group... so if you have a get together, I'll make it up to you by helping you not to drink yourself into a stupor. Melli too.

Welcome to Lit, bdbrooks. Can a relative old-timer give you some hints? First, you might try posting in the Personals forum, if you haven't already. Second, try posting about things in general, other than just trying to find a fuck buddy when posting in the regular chat forums. Let us get to know you better.
Just IMHO. Take it or leave it. Free advice is worth what you pay for it, as they say.
Have a good day.

Hehehe....thanks, Wordsmithe! Just let us drink enough so that we're drunk enough to have lots of fun, but not drunk enough so that we don't remember the fun! lol

Devilish Texan....you have....*gasp* a suit on! This won't do, not at all. Not that you don't look nice in it; you do. But we are accustomed to seeing the parts of you which your suit covers!
*fanning self, trying to adapt to this new revoltin' development*
