Apparently the rascals boarded a privately chartered jet and are planning to stay in DC until the legislative session ends. It is very difficult to see how they win with this stunt but it will be amusing to follow. It failed a decade ago and seems destined to fail again.

The Governor of Texas is threatening their arrest. But fellow criminal Nancy Pelosi will shield them while in DC.

The funniest thing is that they're in DC rallying with the far left to sweep away the filibuster, which requires a supermajority in the Senate to allow any bill to move forward. That's exactly the reason they have fled Texas, because their rules require that same supermajority. So they exploit the rule in Texas as they demand its repeal in DC.

This isn't hypocrisy, it's schizophrenia.

He wouldn't have jurisdiction there anyway.

He said they could be arrested upon their return to TX. Doubt that will happen, but he’s withholding their pay. Eventually they’ll have to return with their tails between their legs and an election reform bill will pass.

The Texas legislature is using "election security" to justify the changes they want to pass into law. So why don't one of you explain to me why 24-hour voting, drive-through voting, more ballot drop boxes and other such things banned in their bill have to do with election security? Convince me what they want to pass is a legitimate reaction to a legitimate concern. I'm all ears.

It is neither; it is tactics.

I really don't know much about the bill, but I'd be a fool to take your word for it.

At some time they have to come back to Texas to keep their jobs. When they do, they will be arrested. A formal extradition request can be made to the Capitol Police for their arrest, if approved they could be taken in front of the Chief Judge of the DC Superior Court who would then approve or disapprove the request. If approved they could be turned over to Texas law enforcement and returned to Texas. However, The Speaker of the House could issue an arrest order for those members and have them turned over to Texas authorities, but we know Nancy Pelosi would not do her duty in that regard. She would only do that with Republicans facing extradition.

There is nothing, legally, that would make it Pelosi's duty.

Nobody is obligated to convince you of anything. The TX legislative majority apparently believes voting at polling stations during daylight hours or requesting a mail in ballot works fine.

Arrest them for their freedom to travel?

What a great and free country you used to be. Now, not so much .lol

No, the TX legislative majority apparently believes that would reduce Dem turnout, not that it "works fine" in any other sense.

What word? Are you literate? Can you read? Are you marginally intelligent enough to understand concepts? If you know nothing about the reason the Texas Dems have fled, perhaps you are too ignorant to comment on it.

They fled because they felt it was okay to be derelict in their duty, and because it was the only way to subvert the democratic process they are sworn to uphold.
