Ok I've noticed on here (probably half of them fake) but damn near EVERY member from Texas has to announce it in their username. What's with this? 😂

There’s a very charming man from TX who’s entered my orbit lately but he’s off limits and not interested in me anyway. But it’s fun to think about!

Well it's his loss! Feel free to PM me if you're looking for conversation :)

Tell me you're a hatemongering libtard without saying it.

I'm from RI by the way, just in case your reply is to call me a redneck or some other slur you idiots have for Texas.

Your assumption couldn't be further from the truth. I just noticed a pattern seemingly and thought it was funny. Tell me you're far too easily offended without telling me 🙄😂😂

I’m from Texas and don’t announce it in my username.
I understand the pride thing. I have been to Texas on business MANY times. It's always a good time, the people are awesome as well. I just don't see why there's not that level of pride in the residents of the other 49 states. For instance, my username wouldn't be "PrairieStatePussyHound" lol

Texas has a large population, so it shouldn't shock anyone that there are quite a few people on Lit from there. In the olden days we used to have get-togethers call Litogethers. Over about 3 years we had about a dozen in Texas. We went to Austin a few times, Dallas a couple, San Antonio once and 4 or 5 in Houston. There was one in Las Vegas, one or two in New York City and a couple in Boston. So yeah, there are a bunch of Texans here. Texas is also a state of mind. It's the only state that joined the union by treaty because it was its own country before joining the US. There is still a sense of independence and self-reliance. Then there's the whole state-shape thing. You show anyone the shape of Texas and they'll know what it is. Not many other states can say that. Is there a Wisconsin-shaped waffle maker? (no offense to Wisconsin) :) All y'all have a nice day!

PS if you want to have fun and a few laughs (and maybe even learn something along the way) I highly suggest you follow a chap called "That Englishman in Texas" on your favorite social media channel. He's got a youtube and a podcast, but I follow him on Facebook. He's hilarious.
