Testing for dropped connection

Sometimes chat will freeze without actually fully disconnecting. It looks like you’re still there but posts and pm’s don’t actually go through.

I’ve seen it suggested that instead of testing by posting dots in a room it’s best to just send Isedora a pm that says “Help”. If it responds you are connected.

This works for me on a pc but never on phone. Even when I know I’m fully connected, messaging Isedora gets no response. Any solution or work-around?

You can try and post in an empty room...there are usually many. You can watch to see if the number in the rooms will change. If you got booted it will stay the same and a room like the lobby it is constantly changing as well as you can also if you have a friend you can pm them and ask "can you see my message?" We ask people to do this because honestly can you imagine people constantly posting dots...when the disconnects can happen at any time and to anyone...I am a mod and I have had it happen. It does tend to flood the rooms with constant dots and its distracting.

I hope this helps.

Thanks - I've tried looking at the numbers in the rooms; I'll try messaging an empty room. Sending a pm to a friend saying "am I here" only works if your friend actually sees your message, and as you know, sometimes you don't notice pm's when you have a lot of them. I wasn't suggesting posting dots...I know how annoying that is.

I was just wondering if the "text 'help' to Isedora" tip only works on a PC for some reason, or if this is something specific to my phone or software. Has anyone else noted this problem?

you need to type "help" (no " and lower caps)
