Tesla

It's a pretty nifty car...and IMHO is where the future of automotive is headed.

Is it perfect? No, but it is supremely better than any EV on the market today. Those comments are for the Model S. Performance wise it is better than any luxury sedan on the road (at least the ones that I have driven.) Although, I am a bit hesitant about a near 2½ ton vehicle stopping on snow and ice...but they do sell chains and snow tires. Winter is coming soon, so we'll see. I expect the price of batteries will come down somewhat with Elon opening the Gigafactory soonish.

Model X, however, is just coming out of hand built production with several protos already on the road...but at $132k base price...it is way too expensive for what it is.

Model 3 is due out later in 2017. That is supposed to come with a tamer price point, but with all things Tesla...it'll probably be much later. The Fremont factory is impresive, but it seems to take forever for them to retool. I understand that 52 new robots have been delivered to ramp up (Model X?) production, so they must be getting close to having them on the line.

As for the PowerWall...that is one item, I don't think is overpriced, and from what I understand, he can't keep up with the orders.

Just my 2¢...and yes I own one, an 85D. So opinion is a bit biased.

Do they do that for all the 30k fatal crashes with meat drivers?

The ones with an "Autopilot" malfunction, I'd say yes.

I saw a Tesla on the freeway in North Phoenix yesterday with two bikes strapped to the roof on a bike rack. Easily the most expensive bike delivery system I have ever seen.

Can you imagine a bike rack on a Ferrari?
