Curious if their is a clinical term or even slang term for someone who is attracted to people based upon them being specifically Masculine or Feminine in personality and looks.

It's hard to properly get across what I mean. Basically, I am attracted to genuinely feminine people with somewhat submissive personalities and very feminine physical characteristics. Whether they are born male or female makes no difference to me. It's specifically how they carry themselves, conversate, and to some extent how they look (Physical attraction I don't think can ever be discarded by someone.). If they come across as Masculine, then I have zero interest in them except within a friendship capacity.

Thanks for any clarity.

This is a pretty common thing, but I can't think of the term off-hand. You're not alone though!

I think most people dont think about it enough. I'm glad that you do, replicant!

Those kinds of people are often called Femmes, both male and female.
Perhaps we can come up with a word, like "Femmeophile"

Gynephilia is what you are looking for. Androphilia is the opposite.
I thought of that, but he's attracted to feminine men as well as women-- and he's not attracted to women who are unfeminine. 'Gyne' means 'womb' I.E vagina... but having a vag does not necessarily mean femininity.

Hmm.

I've never seen womb used as the root translation for Gyne before, maybe I haven't read enough =P.

There is some theory/research into the wide variety of "sexual orientation" and they use a lot of the same terms/labels but with different meanings/definitions. Wikipedia, Urban dictionary, or Google will turn up some info.

At the end of the day, there is not one word that you could use on any one that would fit them 100%, so pick something or make it up and wing I say =).

Thylocotyphilia - Love of Womanliness

Andrismophilia - Love of Manliness

Modern Greek portmanteaus, not Classical Greek.
