a spot for personal reviews of tequila.

i only ask that when reviewing a tequila, it is something you have personal experience with.

picked up this afternoon:

omeca altos 100% agave reposado tequila

this is good shit. discounted around $22 a bottle, this has the full reposado flavor of a fine herradura. there is the initial bite, and then it is smooth. aged in an oak barrel, you can taste the subtle smoke on the back end of the shot, lingering in the back of your throat.

this is a fine tequila.

part of me wants to start throwing out reviews of past tequilas, but right now i just ned to sit here with this. taste and post shall be the preferred method of review.

this could possibly be a shit talking tequila. cazadores is a fucking tequila. don julio makes you tell the truth. you cannot lie. that is the legend.

I bring pomegranate tequila home every time I go to Puerto Vallarta. I sip it cold, or can make foofy drinks with it.

I keep my tequila in the ultra-chill drawer in my fridge.
Does anyone else drink theirs frosty?

i want this.

I can only find it in the speciality tequila shops, or duty free at the airport? They're little tasting shops. They let you try all kinds of different ones so you can bring home what you like.

Yes, it goes down very easy that way too.

Is this the stuff with the wooden ball on top of the bottle? My brother swears by this brand. I think it's called Olmeca not Omega though.

I rarely drink it. It makes me do things I really should not be doing. Like sing raucously and dance on tables. The main benefit for me is at least the lemon slice has some vitamin C.

thank you. i have edited, and shall blame the tequila gods for my error.

I recently heard a good report on one called Cimarron Blanco. Anyone had?

I have still never tried tequila.

I want dibs!

Tequila is wonderful for dissolving inhibitions.

I generally just buy Sauza Silver, because it's 100% Blue Agave ...the active ingredient that really matters in terms of panty removal.

After a terrible experience with Jose Cuervo in my youth, it took more than a decade before I tried any kind of tequila again. It was Patron and I was forever changed. I enjoy tequila when the object o is to get drunk. Not tipsy, not mildly buzzed... drunk. So as you might imagine, it doesn't happen that often, but when it does it is always with a top shelf tequila life is to short for bad hangovers from cheap booze.

So in order of my favorite tequilas:
1. Casadorez
2. Patrõn
3. Cabo Wabo
4. Milagro
5. I don't have a #5

I Love Tequilla. Here's the Tequilla I tried last. It was a few days before New Year's Eve at a tasting. It was great.

However, in all honesty, I can't really tell the diff between brands. I can however tell if it was cheap by whether or not I get a hangover the next day or not.

that's clooney's tequila. a bottle was finished off not too long ago. for me, it had a bit of a back bite. a shooting tequila. one friend absolutely loved it. the bite made it brilliant. there is always cheap, and that can be bad. there are also hidden gems.

i don't know if i could tell between brands at this point. that would be a game. winner takes all tequila tasting contest. porcelain grail included.

I knew it was Clooney's Tequilla but to me one tastes the same as the other, unless you are tasting them side by side of course. I love it but I dont think I drink it enough to be a good judge of what's good or not. Now wine, that's is a diff story. I can pretty much tell what Im drinking.
