Hello. :)

I'm one of the lurkers here who has decided to come forth with some questions cause I really cannot find or ask anywhere else..

I'm a 38 year old guy in good shape, heterosexual, who has found out that he enjoys dressing up in women's clothes, to the max. Everything from makeup, to bras, lingerie, panties, hose, skirts, blouses, you name it...the whole business turns me on something fierce.

My last lover (female) was a reluctant partner when I brought this up and she never really understood it, despite the fact our sex was truly awesome...since then I've changed lovers and this one has said in not so many words that she finds the idea of me in women's clothing and makeup intriguing and I basically have free reign.

This sounds great so far except she's overseas and won't be back for several months..so I am sort of short of people I can turn to and ask..I live in the Southeast where the Bible belt puts the buckle almost..the closest places I could go that might have help are at least 3 hours away in either direction...so it's sort of left up to me to figure things out on my own.

With that in mind, I really have to say I don't know where to start..what cosmetics I would need, how cleavage is created and what to d if you can't afford to shell out a ton of dough for prosthetic inserts or similiar silicone items to pad bras with..

Given that, can one of you gals give me a 'basic kit' of what items I need and at least a general idea of how to apply them? PM or post here is fine, either way works for me. Also if you have any ideas about the bra issue, or in thinking about it, what I can do to pad my bottom and hips for a better curve, I'd be interested in that info as well.

Thanks so much in advance,

Karal

Congratulations on exploring your sexuality! Frankly, I too find cross-dressers intriguing.

Well, first off, I would say three cheers for the internet. You can probably get most of what you need right from your computer. I would also say a lot depends on whether you want to go out in public dressed as a woman or if this is something you are looking to do only between you and your S/O. If this is to be a private experience (or might be for the time being, perhaps?), then you are talking a lot fewer items needed and less expense. Where to begin??

Okay, underwear. You have a variety, depending on your taste. There is the normal selection of panties - everything from bikini to g-string. (Being a man, you might want to visit sights that have BBW clothing/lingerie) You can buy a hip/butt enhancer. This is a garment that looks like women's briefs, but has padding in the hip and buttocks area. I know that Frederick's of Hollywood sells them online. As for a bra, your biggest challenge will be finding one that fits around your chest. As far as what to stuff it with? You can use any type of cloth to fill out clothing. I'm afraid you won't get cleavage, sorry! There are prothesis you can buy (again, over the internet), but I would wait and see how the rest of this plays out first. Stockings may be difficult, depending on your size. It may be easier to find pantyhose for you. Again, a place that specializes in BBW may be just what you need. (That is, if you want to bother with stockings at all)

As far as clothing goes, whatever interests you. Skirt, dress, blouse. Realize that you won't have cleavage, so something low cut is probably not a good idea. Also, anything too clingy may reveal that you are a man, if you know what I mean.

Shoes might be tough, but I do know there are places on the internet that sell to cross dressers. Perhaps some one here has a link? Remember, men's sizes are 2 sizes less than women's. (A man's size 8 equals a woman's size 10) And it might be more comfortable for you to get a wider width. And watch the heel! Trying to get used to a 4" inch right off can be painful and uncomfortable. You might want to try something shorter, like 2".

As for your hair, you can also purchase a wig fairly inexpensively over the internet. It won't be the best quality, but if it is just you and your S/O, it will get the job done.

You know, you can even purchase cosmetics online as well. Picking the shading might be a little tricky, but again, I'm coming from the viewpoint that this is only between you and your S/O. Plus, read the websites carefully and make certain there is a return/exchange policy. Make up really depends on how far you want to take this. You have the basics which would be a foundation, blush, at least 2 eye shadows, and mascara. Adding things like eye liner, multiple eye shadows, lip gloss can come once you feel comfortable.

Something you would need to consider (especially if you are going out in public) is hair. Leg hair, arm hair, facial hair, even chest hair. And don't forget those eyebrows! Depending on you personally, a man can shape his eyebrows to coincide with his cross dressing, but still appear masculine when he chooses to be.

I hope other guys and gals jump in on this one. I think this would be a lot of fun! Good luck to you!

Did stumble on a site that might be useful:

http://www.transformation.co.uk/transform.html

Its UK based but seems to cater for most of the information that you are looking for, from ironing (seriously!) to applying makeup.

Stockings may be difficult, depending on your size

At 6'4 having just done a tarts and tramps party, I can vouch for Marks and spencers XL size, Jeez I was an ugly woman but I guess boxer shorts and stockings were never going to be alluring :D

:) Thank you for the responses...I probably should have clarified some of this slightly...so..I'll try to do that now.

In purchasing the items..I have no real problems with purchasing the wigs, blouses, hose or whatever..oddly enough people are more than likely thinking I am buying for a girlfriend or wife and they simply glaze over when these sorts of things go through..

It's more a matter of knowing WHAT I need to get, and once I get it, HOW to use it..how to apply the mascara, eyeliner, foundation, blush and so on..

I'm not precisely brave enough to try my luck during the daytime..but I had considered on multiple occasions taking drives through my city to get comfortable with things a bit, then perhaps getting out to get gas, or something equally mundane and benign...a tad bit of exposure, but nothing overt, like TV clubs or etc..at least not for a good while.

Anyone else have any more suggestions on this? This is probably odd to say but the thoughts of this are tremendously exciting..moreso now I can actually talk to someone besides my S/O about it..

Thanks for all your help out there. :)

wow - I have always been SO intrigued by men who want to wear women's clothing! I mean, what's not to like? Unless - of course - you end up looking better than her! THAT would be bad. Ok - I'll give make-up a shot:

Foundation: You need to find out what skin color you are. There's very light, light, beige, medium, medium dark, olive and dark for the most part. (and many variations thereof - but that's the basics) You are going to need a pretty thick foundation - something that can cover your beard stubble. Almay makes a nice one called clear complextion compact makeup. Its kinda like face paint for lack of another description. This goes on LIGHTLY all over from tip to under the neck line - please blend. Directions are also on packaging.

Powder: Next a fine coat of pressed powder. Again Almay Light and Perfect Pressed Powder (they will be in co ordinating shades) blend blend blend.

Blush: Any type face blush. It should come with a brush - but a real nice big brush bought separately makes a big difference. Color the hollows of your cheeks along your cheek line. Blend in. I have no real preference brand name wise - try something on sale maybe?

EYES: I like a soft kohl pencil. Start with a grey maybe? Not too dark? Loreal makes a Pencil Perfect Automatic eyeliner. AUTOMATIC is VERY important - otherwise you'll have to use a pencil sharpener and that never works. Gently outline both upper and lower lids, below the lash. Then you can use a q-tip to blend.
Next a bit of eye color. This will depend on your coloring and what you are wearing. But there are many nice neutral shades out there. Try one with 3 shades of the same color. Medium goes on the lid, dark in the crease right above and a tiny bit of the lightest right below your brows. blend, blend, blend.
Mascara - I like a nice waterproof one - but you may want to start with one that isn't? I suggest black/brown instead of pure black. A bit less stark. I do not have a brand preference because all mascara sucks after 2 days and I always switch brands.

LIPSTICK: I love the new stay on stuff. Its a tube of color with a sponge tip applicator, then a clear gloss goes over it once its set. I use Cover Girl but my eyesight is so bad I can't read anything else on this tube! Pay attention to the lip line, use your finger to spread it evenly. You'll have to practice this once or twice. heheh

OK - that's a brief basic. The point is to cover up the ugly stuff (pimples, red marks, eye circles) high-light the pretty stuff (cheekbones, eyes, lips) and make it all look like its not there at all. Easy huh?

Great tips, crazybbwgirl!!

I would just add that, as a general rule, these color schemes would apply for makeup.

If you are brunette or have an olive complection: use a darker foundation and powder. Blush should be either in the berry or brown tones - something warm. Eye shadows that work best would be browns, golds, muted blues, greens. Lipsticks should fall into the same category as blush: berry or brown/neutral tones. A brown/black or black mascara.

If you are blone or fair skin: medium to light foundation and powder. Blush should be cool colors such as pinks and peaches. Eye colors could be neutral (light browns) but you could also wear pinks, purples, lighter blues, and greens. Lipsticks would be in the pink or mauve family. Best bet for mascara is brown/black.

If you are a redhead or have very fair skin: light foundation and powder. Blush can be either neutral tones (if you are on the auburn side of the color spectrum) or corals (if you have a lighter red). Eye color is mostly warm tones, with darker shades for auburn and lighter shades for lighter reds. Lipsticks to be used: either warm browns or corals. Mascara should be brown/black (if auburn) or brown (for lighter reds).

If you are African American: you want to be sure to match your skin tone very closely. More and more mainstream cosmetic companies are finally waking up to the needs of African American women (or women of color in general) and are beginning to offer a wider variety of colors. Blush is normally a dark berry color, but depends on skin tone. Eye color can be more spirited with brighter colors highlighting against a darker skin color. Lipsticks can vary between browns to dark berries. Black mascara.

The only thing I would differ on is powder. I prefer loose powder to pressed powder, but it's personal choice. If you do use pressed powder never, ever apply it with that little puffy thing they include! It pulls and stretches the skin and it cannot be cleaned so oils and dirt build up on it after a while. Buy a cosmetic brush (drug stores sell fairly inexpensive ones), and apply any and all powder with a brush. You would simply pick up a small amount on the brush and "dust" your face lightly. It's less stressfull to the skin, and the brush is easily washed with soap and warm water.

A lot about the thing with cosmetics is practice, practice, practice! Most of us women went through that "horrid" stage in our pre- and early teens where we all probably had our days of looking like the Bride of Frankenstein! Play with it, see what works for you and what doesn't. I know that there are drug stores here that if you purchase makeup that isn't quite right, they will refund it. All you would need do is tell the store clerk that you got the wrong shade for your girlfriend and you need to return it.

Another idea that might work, especially now at the holidays. Go to a department store that has extensive makeup counters. Tell the sales girl you were thinking of buying some makeup for your girlfriend for Christmas, but you're not sure what to get. Give the sales girl the same skin coloring, hair coloring, etc as yourself and see which shades she selects. That will give you an idea of what to look for.

This is kind of fun. A bit like "Female eye for the TV guy" or something!

Clothing? hmmmm, bras - gee I'm not the one to ask since I rarely wear one - but I would get a tape measure and measure the widest part of your chest. That would be your bra size number. As to cup size - unless you've got a bit of body fat, or you pump iron - you're probably an A cup.

I would suggest going to Wal Mart - lots of variety at a very cheap price - at least until you were sure what size will work for you. I would think you'd want a padded, push-up bra. There are LOTS of those on the market right now. Water bras, padded bras, wonder bras, miracle bras....geesh. You'll have to buy several I'm guessing to find one that works for you (hell - I've been in them for more than 30 years and I STILL can't find a good one!) lol

IN the last 2 days I have been running wild with this..have a wig now to complement my hair...my bathroom counter is covered in foundation types, lipstick, eyeliner..many of your suggestions Chele and Crazybbwgirl went to immediate use. :)

Have this spiffy bra that really feels comfortable to wear, and sits on my chest with the foam inserts (padded) nicely. I'm tickled. :)

Found a pair of heels in my size..these ended up being 3 inch heels I think..lil wobbly to start out but I wore them most of the day yesterday at home and they're to the point I'm not scared of falling down. (grin)

Also found this cute and actually NOT lowcut blouse that is sort of a deep maroon, and matching skirt. With that I just had to get pantyhose next so I picked up a pair and put them on over shaved legs and OMG what sensations from that..no wonder you women wear these things!!

Right now...I am trying to find a way to hide the package a lil better..simply pulling my testicles and cock down between my legs ends up being terribly uncomfortable so I'm looking for alternatives to the proverbial 'bulge' problem.

Overall absolutely wonderful suggestions ladies...now I just need to practice with the cosmetics a bit..once I get things to where I don't feel quite so newbie-ish..I'll try to get back and post a picture here of the results. :)

Glad to hear you are moving forward with this! And yes, pictures are always a good thing!

But is has always amazed me that men who dress as women manage to somehow look much better! Argh!

:D

I'm so glad the suggestions are working for you! You're so cute being excited about bras, pantyhose and heels. After 40 years I refuse to wear any of those items any longer! lol But you go for it! I would LOVE to see pictures when you can.

I knew a girl whose husband (after 10 years of marriage) finally broke down and admitted to her that he liked wearing women's clothing. Well - she freaked out and divorced him. I always wondered why? Its only clothing.

I've kinda always had this desire to see a guy in my bras and panties. I dont' know why??! Just something interesting about it?

I am glad you are enjoying your new experience discovering your femme side. I didn't have anyone to help me when I started, and I kinda just tryed what I had seen so many girls doing with their makeup. It worked ok, but I didn't really understand the principles behind it all. I have always been a huge fan of Asia Carrera:heart: and noticed one day that her site had an extensive explanation of her technique for glamour style makeup. It may be coincidental that it was perfect for me, but I have been thrilled with my results ever since trying her instructions. They are very detailed, with each step having a picture clearly showing what is described. If nothing else, it might be an additional "look" you could add. Here is the direct link to her homepage-it is free, and the rest of it is awesome as well!

I checked out your 'men in panties' thread. It rules! I believe it will become a favorite of mine.
