In these uncertain times around the world, people are reading more, and we can all guess what else they are doing more. Italy has seen a 71% increase in the sale of sex toys. So, writers, this is our chance to make a difference. Let's give the people what they want and need: more erotica to get them through tough times.

This challenge is to support, entertain, and help our readers and one another to stay positive in these uncertain times.

This isn’t a “by invitation only” event. The contest is OPEN to all writers.

This isn’t a competition. There are no prizes. Other than knowing that your stories are helping to make a difference in people’s lives.

This is for anyone on Literotica who would like to try it out. You don't have to have written anything before in order to write in this event. First-time writers and veteran Literoticans alike are all invited and encouraged to participate.

***

So, here's the challenge:

* Write one story or chapter of more than 1,000 words daily. Yes, I said - daily. We need to keep people busy, entertained, and happy in tough times.

* Any category.

* Submissions can begin immediately and continue throughout this crisis (approximately the next four months or so they say).

* Author must copy and paste the phrase "Survivor Revival” in the "Notes" field of the submission. We recommend that you COPY & PASTE it into the NOTES field to avoid typos.

* Story tracker sheet can be found in this thread. Each participant should create a sheet in this thread and update it as needed.

Please remember this is as much about maintaining our sanity. As Joss Whedon said:

I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters I am not. I write to explore all the things I am afraid of.

So, please, be kind to one another in this thread.

That’s it. If you want to clarify anything, just ask right here in this Official Support Thread).

So what are you waiting for? Start writing?

Special thanks to Laurel for helping me to put this together.

I wish you well and many thanks for this. I doubt however that I am able to burn out 1,000 words a day. YMMV, of course. Good luck with the contest.

Same.

I’m busier than ever because of the market crash. But thanks for organizing this open event and I hope all the participants have lots of fun, and wish you guys the best of luck!

Stay safe and healthy :rose:

This is an inspired idea. I'm on Sabbatical leave in Paris, France, of all places, and now "confined" to the apartment I'm renting, so I have the time, and the state of mind, the fingers and the keyboard, so count me in! Thanks for organizing this. I'll see how long I can keep this up! -- JBE

Lit already posts nearly 100 new stories daily. Something like this could push other stories off the Hub sooner.

I'll take this as a challenge to make sure I write at least 1000 words a day, and I'll try to keep up with that, but I have no idea how it will translate to publication.

I think this is well-intended idea, but I'll note that even without any new stories Literotica has far, far more than enough stories to keep everyone entertained through several pandemics!

Best wishes. This isn't any more than I already do, though, without the need for more organization.

A thousand a day, posted in single chapters? Having just finished a little knock-on experiment on top of the 750 Word Anthology, I'll leave this one to others. Good luck to those who enter.

Great idea but a story a day for four months is just too much. Quality over quantity.

My first time participating in a thing

Please forgive me if I don't do this right, it's the first time I'm participating in a challenge of any type.

I'll try my best to post every day, but I'm in the public service industry (water treatment), so I'm still 'essential' and will be working full time and home schooling kids, too.

Here's my page: PDreadful

Thanks for any guidance! :cattail:

I went with a semi-Arabian nights theme so the stories would all be together that are for this challenge specifically. Hope that's not too cliche.

Did Dylan Thomas leave something in the water over there in Swansea? A thousand words a day! Even in my heyday, I was only expected to produce 800 well-crafted words a week. (Well, 800 words for my column, plus whatever else was going down at the time.) And, in my eighth decade, I’m slowing down. I am now running at Graham Greene pace: 500 words a day. On most days. :)

Good luck to all of you. It's a noble cause.

Apologies for not getting this out sooner. Please feel free to copy and paste into a reply to this thread. As the author of that reply, you should then be able to edit it with updates as necessary. I will be checking it each morning (GMT) and scheduling hourly Tweets to promote all writer's stories. I encourage others to do the same. And happy writing and reading.
