I assume that you are using auto-numbering. If so, does putting Finale in the description trigger a series to close?

No. You have to manually hit the toggle to close a series.

Putting Finale into the title will only stuff up the sequence, if that chapter isn't numbered. It's an alphanumeric sort sequence.

No. Nor will it necessarily order it correctly, depending on he exact naming scheme you choose. It is a simplistic string matching algorithm followed by simple strong ordering

True, I put finale in the description. Anything that changes the title will change the sequence of the stories. Which is why some series are out of order from the getgo. It makes them hard to follow for the reader.
