Template for Anton Chigurh?

Holy shitballs batman I am all messed up. Park Dietz and not Michael Baden. Dr. Diets is a forensic psychiatrist  I be editing yet again... Last time I swear.

Chilling. I think I'll watch this tomorrow and not right before going to bed.

They're about to release a biopic of "the iceman" any day now. Can't rember who plays him.

Michael Shannon. Also plays General Zod in the new Superman movie and Agent Van Alden in Boardwalk Empire.

Think he plays psycho well enough for the iceman movie.

Something about this guy doesn't "ring true" with me. I'm not saying he's not murdering scum - he probably is. I'm saying I don't think he's a Herman Webster Mudgett.

I agree, I don't believe half of what he said or admitted to.

He was a famewhore.

I'm watching this in small chunks, since Life is nibbling my bum. He's a bit more convincing as the clip goes on, but he talks in too many generalities. Liars I have known rarely or never gave general answers to questions asking for specifics.

"How many people did you kill?" "One hundred thirty-seven." That I believe. I can see if he doesn't remember them all, but I think he'd have a better idea than he lets on here. His answers on how much he got paid (which may have been on another clip, actually) were even more vague. Just words, spoken without conviction . . . well, with just his life sentence convictions. ;)

Also, he's no Anton Chigurh. Anton has a code - Kuklinski just gets pissed off. Chigurh seems to feel superior to humans, while Kuklinski feels below them.

I got to 3:22 before before getting creeped the fuck out. Sorry SkAoUt.

Yeah, no worries. It was creepy on a few levels.

Ok, so he inflates his body count and lies about payments. Even if he only murdered 50 people for no reason other than they looked odd or somehow offended his sensibilities I still think he's pretty disturbed and even more disturbing. The lack of any emotion other than him laughing (pretty creepy) makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Yeah, I see the differences too between him an Chigurh. However the similarities struck me especially after reading the book just recently. So while probably not a template (I couldn't find an interview with McCarthy where he mentions whom he modelled Chigurh after) there are a few similarities. Maybe that could be said of any psychopathic killer. Dunno.

I said in my first post that I reckon he's murdering scum. I just question his bragging. He got multiple terms and he's dead, and the world is a better place for it. I think that New Jersey did well in getting him locked down for life, even if he only murdered the five they tried to hang on him.

I just recently read No Country, too, and re-watched the movie. Chigurh is methodical and this guy is haphazard. But then, we don't get but a slice of Anton, and this guy gives us a run-down on his whole story. I guess we'll have to flip for it then:

I don't think he's based on mortal man. He's basically an updated version of the Judge from Blood Meridian.
