Teen Titans (RP Thread)

Carl

"I'm no strategist, but it sounds like a decent plan, are we just going to go straight in after we have the video or are we going to wait a bit? I don't like the idea of just letting them get on with it." He looked around the room, he doubted any of the others here would like it either, none of them struck him as wanting to leave these criminals active and unmolested.

He shrugged, "as to abilities I don't even know myself, I haven't used them for long, I can become basically invisible in shadows, anything else I've done from there has just happened and I've had little control over." He shrugged again, a little abashed, "I'm still learning at this really. What about the rest of you?"

Gar

The second girl had come in from somewhere inside the house, and had been quietly observing. Gar realized he had barely given her a second glance as he dealt with learning who was who among all of the people Nightwing had gathered to take on this man Slade and his hirelings. But his eyes couldn't help but track her as she made her way to Nightwing's side.

<Nice smile>

Gar found himself echoing the nod from Wulfen as she chimed in and then looked over at The Shadow and said, "Well, I started as more of a mascot and sidekick for the Doom Patrol, but I did manage to learn a bit before the end. Like the Chief always said, 'Never stop learning.' I think it's going to be fun learning about each other...." His eyes flitted across to both Wulfen and Terra, mischievously taking in their forms before returning to The Shadow.

"....and kicking some villains down a few notches while we're at it."

Gar laughed and chuckled as he lounged back in his chair.

Ben sighed slightly glancing over the people who'd just finished speaking. "I never really worry about justifying myself to the authorities. Technically I'm a Plumber, I AM the authority. At least when dealing with extra-terrestrial stuff. I think we have two big problems here. First is getting bugs in there undetected. No offense and correct me if I'm wrong Nightwing but you're mostly detective and martial arts right? Gizmo is a techno genius, the only reason he might not see us coming is because there is no reason for us to be here. I'm not sure bugging the place would last more than two seconds." He paused slightly realizing this wasn't going to be a popular choice. "We have two people here," he motioned to hatter and Wulfen "who nobody has ever heard of and another who gets so much bad press that if you weren't vouching I'd have gone with hit first ask questions later." A breif nod towards Danny. "It seems easier and more reliable to get a mole on the inside.

As if taking a cue, Gar shifted in his seat. He leaned forward slightly and placed the palms of his hands on the table before him, then his form wavered and flowed into a thick, barrel-bodied creature with broad, clawed feet and a slender oddly shaped nose. The emerald green mole cracked a smile.

"That sounds intriguing," he said, "What did you have in mind?"

"Still workin on that part to be honest. I'm more than open to suggestions on that. The only reason I brought it up is one thing I've learned is you can get yourself in a lot of trouble trying to play some one elses game and what little I've heard about Gizmo suggests he might be as good or better than anybody we have with technology." Ben looked around to see if anybody had any ideas dropping his head for a moment before lifting it again. "If I had to make a suggestion though I'd go with Ghost Boy. Not only does he have plenty of bad press but being able to do all that ghost stuff is real nice if you have to get out of a bad spot."

"Since I seem to have everybodies attention for the moment there is something else that I want to make sure people heard. While I won't bore you all here with my relationship with my Grandpa Max nor with Azimuth but I am not a fan of mysterious benefactors. Just helping me doesn't make you good or bad. We don't know if they are testing us, protecting us, or what their goals really are. I don't know anything about Slade or Dr. Light but if what I've heard on the news about the other three is at all accurate. . .we're more than a little over kill. For all we know these "benefactors" could just gathering us together in one place because it's easier to keep us in the dark if we're all sitting in the same rooms seeing the same things from the same angles." Raising his hands defensively. "I'm not saying that these are bad people. For all I know we are being brought together as a team just in case something happens to the Justice League. . .not that I think we'd stand much of a chance against something that could get past the A team. Maybe it's a test to see if it's time to let us join. It could be anybody for any reason. Ultimately Nightwing it's your call, I'm not making any challenge for leader so I think that duty falls to you and more to the point I don't know about anybody else at this meet but I'm only aware of one person here who trained with the World's Greatest Detective. I've never caught Carmen San Diego and sometimes have a hard time finding Waldo. If mysterious benefactors don't want to be found I'm certainly not going to find them."

Wulfen/Eliza

"No, we can't just let them carry on with what they're doing." Eliza had raised her voice a little, allowing the passion to come forward in her speech.

"And anyway, getting a mole in, if he's already had such bad press then there's no way he'd be able to recover from working with them. He'd have to prove himself to them somehow and the people aren't going to forget he committed crimes that quickly, not if they're recent enough."

She shrugged, leaning back against the wall and crossing her arms. "it's just my opinion and ultimately it's Dick's decision but I think we should go in as hard and fast as possible."

Carl

He looked around, Wulfen looked pissed, obviously she was a hardliner, the pistol under her arm testified to that. But it seemed like something more, a grudge perhaps? Either way they needed the evidence, and advanced camera's or not, they couldn't really beat a first hand account from inside the base.

"You kinda have a point Wulfen, but I reckon Ben's right about getting someone in there. If this Gizmo is as good as it sounds then maybe we'd be better off getting someone in there. I know I'm new, and with this getup I reckon I could give it a shot. I'd be willing to volunteer for it."

"While my first vote would be for the ghost boy to do it as a lot of people already think he's a villian he wouldn't have to do as much to prove himself both yourself and this woman make good choices for the opposite reason. Nobody has any clue who you are." Ben stretched for good measure. "I honestly don't care how long it takes for any of us to recover from bad press. As much as I admit it's nice having people like you where-ever you go I've been anonymous and I've been feared. I'm a hero first and a celebrity by sheer circumstance. We can always try setting up survelance as a first attempt and if I'm wrong and it works that'll be that. If it's just Changling and Ghostboy that go to set the cameras at worst the villians will know two of us are in town but we'll still have the element of surprise when reveal the full team."

Wulfen/Eliza

Wulfen slammed her hands down on the table. "Whatever we do, we have to do it now, we can't let them continue their attacks on innocents."

She sighed, "I won't go into their base as a spy though, I'd try and put a bullet in him straight away, evidence or not." There was no way she was going to go back in there by herself, he knew, she couldn't tell the others, that was private, her business, it was enough that Nightwing knew, he had vouched for her.

"Can't we just stop arguing and decide on a course of action?"

Flying would have been much faster, but at the last moment, Raven realized that perhaps she was meant to be subtle in her approach, flying, while stealthy thanks to her dark clothes and the lack of sun or starlight, wasn’t exactly subtle if she was spotted. So when she had gotten close she dropped down to street level and continued on foot, it was a long walk through backstreets, but it was for the greater good she supposed, though that thought did little to alleviate the boredom.

She did eventually make it to the meeting point though, what appeared to be a somewhat rundown firehouse, she stood and observed it for a moment, she couldn’t see any signs of life from where she was, a lovely trap. She had never heard of this Nightwing character, but being a new arrival she wasn’t very up to date on who was or wasn’t a villain, besides, while Raven had sensed darkness within him, she felt good at his core.

Her mind made up, she approached the firehouse, silently entering through the front door, nothing attacked her, but nothing greeted her either, a good sign she supposed. The thought that she was late occurred to her, walking the last of the was did take much longer than he initial plan of flying, she didn’t have any kind of clock with her though, so there was no way to be certain.

While no one had greeted her, sounds had, from deeper within she could hear sounds of discussion, so if nothing else, she wasn’t alone. She walked further in to the building, she could have just followed the sounds to their source, but decided against it, better she announced herself before going as she pleased. “Hello” she called out, scanning the room to see if someone heard her, no one had by the looks of things, she shrugged to herself, she tried, it didn’t work, so she headed off in the direction of the talking sounds she could hear.

Gar/Changeling

"Can't we just stop arguing and decide on a course of action?"

Gar slipped out of mole form and slithered as a python down to the floor where he became an oversized emerald tabbycat. It was a good question, not that he really considered what had been going on to be an argument. They should have lived with Steve and Rita, or hung out with almost anyone when the Chief was having one of his days.

His tufted ears perked a bit and he turned his head slightly towards the doorway that the girl with the nice smile had come through. It had almost sounded like someone calling out a 'Hello', but...Gar rose off the ground into gorilla form and took a quick headcount...was Dick expecting more people to show up?

He stepped over to the doorway and sort of folded over into a large cat, then hopped up to sit upon a coat rack just inside the doorway as an small owl. Inside's darker than it seems.

"Actually you both have a point. Since we don't seem to be getting a whole lot done here and Nightwing isn't taking charge I suggest we take a time out here. Since the only thing that seems to be gettig accomplished is us getting upset. They currently aren't doing anything as far as I can tell. I'm sure Nightwing is hooked into the local emergency lines somehow," He held up the arm with the Omnitrix on it. "I'm not getting any communications from the plumbers but that could just mean that either no aliens are involved or they don't see it as a threat. I don't know what means any of you have used in the past to alert yourself to disasters or criminals but nobody here seems to be about to leap out of their seats. So it's safe to say where ever these criminals are right now they are planning. Or sleeping. I think we should eat. We can order in we can go out I would personally like to know more about each of you before we actually go into combat anyway. There are only two of you that I'm at all familar with. Any suggestions should we just pick up stuff along the way go out and bring food back to cook." He glanced around realizing that he had no idea where or even if this place had a kitchen and hoped nobody called him on that particular detail. "It'll also give anybody else who hasn't gotten here sometime to arrive.
