Ted Cruz Drops Out

It's really too bad. Now there'll be no contested convention. GOP entertainment value has dropped precipitously. Tromp, yada yada. Yawn.

Cruz's campaign spending must have exceeded the budget set aside by the Canadian Foreign Intelligence Service's allowance for the overthrow of the American government. Cheap bastards! Then again we are a small poor country in comparison. Worth a shot anyways. At least he has an established legend now for further penetration of the US government. Maybe make him our man in Texas.

He could have dropped out immediately after he found out Hoosiers don't talk about the height of basketball rings. Saved some time. :D

That was the "oops" moment which ended his chances.

I'm sure he'll run again some day, he's only in his mid-40s. He'll need to definitely up his game though. He doesn't seem to have the political instincts that he thinks he has. It was a pretty pathetic campaign really especially at the end.

On the flip side, he did run into the Trump tornado. That's why I love this overconfidence on the part of the liberal loudmouths, the army of armchair Rories on the internet.

Trump is a formidable opponent as all his vanquished opponents have already found out, and polls are already tightening between him and Hillary and he hasn't even started going after her yet. I won't underestimate either of them.

The GOP will split in half over him. A bunch may even switch out of genuine fear.

Failing that, you'd better start learning German and get your right arm in shape for those high salutes.

The worst part of his announcement was hearing the GOP machine start lining-up in back of Trump.

The Left's legendary duplicitous, treacherous self-dealing was my last hope for a cogent line of defense against that dill weed.

I'd say Cruz had already decided before he went on that crazy ass rant in the morning, highlighted by saying that Trump's battle with VD was Donald's vietnam war.
I'm gonna miss that shit.

Ted Cruz campaigned like it was 1980. He failed to comprehend that the country is more center left than it used to be (the GOP included) , conservatives being the exception).

Trump will probably pick Rubio or The Ohio guy what's his name. I think Hillary will pick Corry Bookman, she needs to hold the AA vote as her base or she is toast. Warren, the discredited, fake Indian would sink her ticket.

Bernie can't possibly accept to be her VP candidate because he made a big issue out of her WS ties, he'd be tagged as a hypocrite becoming what he railed against.

Give credit where credit is due, Cruz had the best organization overall....that's how he got as far as he did. Compare Cruz field troops to Jeb!'s, Rubio's, Jindal's....or any other candidate in the "Deepest Republican Bench EVAR", he comes out ahead.

He ran the Bush 2000 playbook to perfection, the "outsider insider".

The problem was, Trump blew away all the existing rules. He has a shit organization, and now must rely upon the RNC to help him get the white vote out and prevent the non-whites from voting.

You made perfectly good points which I happen to agree with but you just couldn't resist the racist bit could you? #nohopeforyou

Cruz was doing great... until he moved his lips and people heard him.

Then Trump as the next POTUS was a given.
