Tech question???

I have a DVD drive in my PC, I want to take a video capture from a DVD. I have done everything including doing a print screen. It saves the image to paint but as soon as I shut off the DVD the image is then black??? Is there anyway around this?

If you have something like PowerDVD then you can use the built-in screen-camera thing... a few other software programs have that feature, but the keyboard Print Screen button never, ever works with DVDs.
