I seem to have picked up some unwelcome items in my "Favourites / Book mark" box that dispite my efforts keep returning after a restart and before reconnectng to the internet.

So far I have...

1. Deleted and used “Clean Sweep” physically checking that the caches etc are empty.

2. Used “Ad-aware” with no success.

3. Physically deleted said files from “Favourites” and “Temporary Internet Files” using “Cyber Scrub”,

4. ... I've even used Lits own Spy-ware linc which says my 'puter is clean! (Nice of it I thought!)

I'm out of ideas.

All actions were taken when the PC was disconnected from the internet and restart was carried out after each action. On each occasion the “offenders” reappeared. I’ve come to the conclusion that there may be a cache somewhere that I have forgotten or don’t know about.
Is there some place in “regedit” I could go to manually delete the little buggers?
All help gratefully received.

Quick up date- Have just tried "Add/Remove" programs list, and looked for System restore "on/off" via Control Panel / System, (but dont seem to have one) as suggested to others in previous posts..

check and make sure that you're browser is up to date and all security patches and stuff are installed. I did that for a friend and her problems like that went away.

What browser are you using?

If you're using internet explorer, I would recommend not only running spybot AND Ad-Aware (google is your friend!) but also going out and downloading Mozilla FireFox (mozilla.org is also your friend)

Thanks to all who responded. Shortly after posting things got worse, and I ended up doing a complete system recovery! Which in itself raised another problem with recovery discs, which it is why it has taken so long to reply.
Thanks for your input any way!
