And no its not for my computer this time...its for the new DVD player I just bought. I got it all hooked up, color coded plugs that was easy but the damn movie wont play through my TV? What am I doing wrong? it plays on the dvd player but its not showing on my tv..just my regular tv is working.

HELP, I'm getting highly pissed off!

Try the tv/vcr or video button on your tee vee.

Or just start pushing buttons. Something is bound to work.

If you hooked up with a/v cables look and see if you have a video channel on the TV.

you must hook it up fhrough the audio/video jacks on the tv. It will not work hooked into the vcr. If your tv does not have rca jacks you must get a rf modulator at radio shack. They cost about $40. I've run into this problem with older tvs. Also alot of tv's have a special channel for video import/input. Usually it is something like video 1, video 2, then channel two if you have satellite or cable. If still no signal, then try the tv/av button on your remote.

:p

And the dvd remote doesnt have a tv/ whatever button like my vcr remote does

Mistress,

You are a desirable woman with a cute chin, but your sigline annoys the fuck out of sensible people.

i don't know about dvd's mistress but i know vcr's usually won't work unless your tv station is set to 3 or 4. might check the instructions to see if that's the case. otherwise just give it a good smack. sometimes that helps.

better?

GOds this pisses me off...after spending my money on it I can't get it to work , and yeah I don't like waiting. No one seems to know how to help me. I think since trying to set it up my iq has dropped majorly..and well...thats pretty bad :p

Relax, you'll get it figured out, or will find someone who can help. No need to stress on it.

:)

I wont figure it out, I wasted my money on movies and player that wont fucking work...

There is now way I can relax...maybe not until 2006.

Maybe I should turn in back in, and hire someone to shoot me with the cash, that'll be fun. /sigh

Mistress,

Did you check the manufacturer's website?

Yah, website.

They almost invariably have online tech support. Or at the very least an FAQ that might answer your question.

At the worst, you'll be able to email their tech support staff with the details of your problem, and they'll write back to you on Monday with some possible solutions.

I had to buy the adapter to get mine to work. Its a good thing I checked it before christmas or the kids would have been disappointed.

At walmart they have a $13 and $30 adapters. I went for the 30 dollar one as I can now hook up everything into it without buying anymore adapters for my various game systems.

I seriously dont have these settings.....I just got back from buying a univer. remote because I dont have a regular tv remote...Radio shack said it should work just hit the input button..well that button must be broke to because it didnt fucking work either. Not on the dvd of course, I finally got it to work on the tv and vcr, but ot the dvd player. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE seems to be able to help me fix this. I'm fucking annoyed way past my limit fo rthe day...maybe even for the week. I fducking give up..I'm taking a sledge hammer to it tonight I think..

Calm down. *smile* Nothing ever works when you get frustrated.

Check all your cables. Switch cables (the problem could always be a bad cable).

If you have a VCR and the VCR works then unplug the cable from the back of the VCR and plug it into the DVD and see if that works.

Or describe all your connections that you have on the TV and the DVD and I'll help you.

(Or you can always find the nearest 9 year old - they can always get these things to work. My daughter is a wiz with this kind of stuff.)

Just a thought . .if it's all plugged in right . . .try flippin a few channels. Like 2,3,4 and if you have other channels. I have a VCR! and VCR2 which corespond with whatever plugs I use. Just a thought.

That wont work, so I wont bother to try it.

Check all your cables. Switch cables (the problem could always be a bad cable). Nope.

If you have a VCR and the VCR works then unplug the cable from the back of the VCR and plug it into the DVD and see if that works.
this wont work because the VCR is plugs in differently.

Or describe all your connections that you have on the TV and the DVD and I'll help you. The connections are color coded and in the order they are suppose to be in...which is why no one can fucking help me. Because no one knows the god damn problem.

(Or you can always find the nearest 9 year old - they can always get these things to work. My daughter is a wiz with this kind of stuff.) I'd strangle a kid if they managed to get it to work after the 5 people who I have had helping couldn't.

huh?

What model and make is your TV?

What model and make is your DVD player?

The DVD player shows up on a channel of some sorts. Could be channel 2,3,4 or maybe an INPUT channel. Just take the TV clicker and flip through and see if the DVD shows up . . .just a though.

It's a thought I had hours ago when the problem first arose...it's not on any of them.

DVD is a emerson..which btw has no website as far as I know and the tech line has been busy since I got the damn thing home and tried to hook it up. The TV is a Zenith, but that doesn't really matter.
