Finishing up undefeated with a 6-0 record. Team USA Softball, losing to Japan for the Gold Medal in the last Olympics, got revenge of sorts by blowing through the field and defeating Team Australia 3-1 in the World Cup Final game.

The Australian's have taken Medals in the past four Olympics' and fielded team players from Rockhampton, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, with most coming from Brisbane.

The USA Team, taking a Silver in the last Olympics fielded players from Arizona, Arizona State, Tennessee, Alabama and several from Stanford University.

Softball was voted out of the Olympics in 2005 and will not be in competition in 2012, but a movement to return it for the 2016 games is underway.

I watched part of one game which the USA won over the Netherlands. Our women were kicking Dutch girl butt. Final was 7-2. :D

I think I managed to watch them all, girls have more fun playing than the boys do, but I still watch the World Series of Little League Baseball, all boys, starts sometime in August.

Really disappointed that the Olympic committee dropped Softball, the game is played world wide and has many spectators and fans.

Yeah, they dropped softball -- as well as baseball -- but kept handball. That makes me roll my eyes.

Is the Little League World Series really all boys? I was under the impression that Little League included girls now, and had been doing so for many years. At that age, many girls can compete successfully with boys in athletics.
