Most likely he popped up on the no fly list.
Why?
Juhel Miah was one of the people peripherally involved in the hammer murder of the Islamic (and Bangladeshi) cleric Jalal Uddin in York last year. Though not one of those charged, a series of texts between one of the men convicted and Juhel Miah was part of the evidence. The two men convicted of the murder of Uddin were ISIS affiliates.
Though there's no evidence they're the same person the name crossover is sufficient to get a person temporarily removed from a flight and given the instructions to contact a lawyer if they have an issue - that lawyer can then take them through an appeals process.
They (DHS or the relevant security agency) will not tell a person why they're being removed from a flight - indeed, a person may never know, because the no fly list is populated by a security agency somewhere saying "Juhei Miah from England has known terrorist associations" and the line personnel never know the reason, the strength of the evidence, etc. Just a notation that says "Juhei Miah" cannot fly to the US. In some cases, perhaps many, they may not even have a DOB or other identifier, simply intercepted traffic with a name.
As mentioned above, Ted Kennedy ran into the same thing since there also happens to be another Irish American named Ted Kennedy who is/was a known IRA affiliate.
I'll be curious to see what shakes out on this one.
