Well I have an angel and a demon engaged in full battle on my left upper arm and on my right I have a cross.

I am currently having an artist work up a drawing to add onto the cross, A dark cloud with lightening etc... and the face of a demon in the clouds and on the other side a bright light piercing through lighter clouds and the face of an angel

I have a heart with wings on my right ankle done in reds and purples. On my left ankle i have a chain link anklet. I have one charm on the links so far...a skull hanging down on my foot..this tat is done in black and purple..

...Two more, on the top of each arm..Been considering gettin' more, but haven't as of yet. Ya can't donate blood for a year after ya get one, so I have mixed feelings about gettin' 'em..
...I like 'em, but be warned, they are addictin'.....

I've heard that tats are addicting. Especially if the artist is fucking hot!!!!
Anyway, I was voted most likely to be the most tattooed in high school and I have NO tats, I repeat...NO tats....although everyone else I went to school with has them!!!

I figure by now, at my age, and I am not afraid to say I'm 36, I am confident in what I want to permanently appear on my body.

Unfortunately, I am married to a vanilla, conservative, loser OMG did I say that outloud?

Anyway, I will have my way. Soon.

But, I love the advice.

I have nine...and i am getting my tenth within the next week. All black-work with the exception of my Grateful Dead Bear on my ankle. I'll take some pics and post them in a bit.

As for advice about getting ink done:

#1 - Take time to find an artist who's work appeals to you and who does the kind of work you want done. Some specialize in B&W work, some specialize in color, it's a rare artist who works well in both.

#2 - DO NOT GET A LOVER/SPOUSE/MATE NAME. In fact, getting ANYONE's name is a bad idea. Exceptions - Names of your own children or someone who is deceased and you want to go to _your_ grave honoring them. You do NOT want to get "Property of MasterStudlyGuy" tatooed on the small of your back... and go back to your husband 6 months later (true story, I know the gal who did it! Name of the guy changed to protect his innocence!)

#3 - If you can afford it, get original work done. Talk it over with the artist, let them create the design, review it and approve it before you get it done. It might add a week or two to the wait time while they create your art, but it will be YOURS! Yeah, yeah, I know every work is an original because no two people have exactly the same skin town, body shape etc... But dayum, wall flash is for teenagers who have no clue what is meaningful to them. If you DO find smoe flash that really speaks to you though, tell the artist to make it their own. You'll be glad you did.

#4 - Be mindful of body placement.... If you don't want want everyone to see it, don't put it on your hand or face. *grin* If you wear bikini's at the beach or pool, you'll probably be showing it off... Make sure it's something you won't mind Mom or Grandma seeing and asking you about. If you just gotta have the winged penis flying into that open pussy, think about putting it somewhere that children (or a potential employer) won't be seeing... *LOL*

#5 - Be absolutely sure you want it done. Once the needles are inked and that sucker is biting in your skin, you're committed. You can stop, but you'll have to deal with whatever was done before you call it to a halt. Yes, there are skin peels, and laser removal and other ways of getting rid of the tat, but unless you are willing to spend major money, it's there, it's yours and it's for life.

Sorry to hear you are in an unhappy situation with the spouse. But it's YOUR body not his (unless you are in a Power Exchange relationship and that's been agreed upon...), so have fun! Do something with it that will make you happy and feel good about yourself.

I have just the one so far! It's my Av.... and it's on my lower back in case you couldn't tell.
My boyfriend bought it for me to celebrate us having been together for a while... and that was a while back lol... I like it because I was born in the year of the dragon, on the chinese zodiac, and because I designed the tattoo myself.
I want to get another tat, one of those little itty bitty geckos on the left side of my chest.

If I can do it anyone can. I have had a headache that felt worse than getting a tat. All depends on where you want it as to how bad it's gonna hurt. Ankle and feet are a bitch but if you put it on a 'fatty' part of your body and not by a boney part it's not bad at all.
