Okay... for quite a while now, I've been contemplating getting my first tattoo. I knew where I wanted it (back of my neck), but not what I wanted.

I wanted something involving a rose, but not something typical and common...

And then I saw it.

You rock, dgnr8469 - I'm so glad you had this as an av! I'm thinking smaller...and maybe a little less pointy, but otherwise, it's perfect!

Tell me what you all think.

(I still have to save up some $ and get up my nerve before I go doing anything crazy. lol)

I've always loved that tattoo. Especially after reading the book. I highly recomend that book, BTW. Very sexy, book, but grand story to it too. Kushiel's Dart. Go get it today! :D

I've never heard of the book - I'll have to check it out. :D Thanks!

Without giving away too much of the story. The main character is...well....a courtesan. And that is her marque. She's got that tattoo'd across and down her entire back. :)

Author's name is Jaqueline Carey, I believe. :)

It's very cool, sweetums!

for a rose *rolls eyes jokingly*

I've always wanted an anklet, but have been WAY too chicken! :(

Very,very cooooolllllll............

I have to ask, what do you want it to say about you? It'll be on you forever so you'll have to explain it to the Grandkids someday! :D

*I see it as a wild red rose, enjoying a few thorns now and then! :D :rose:

My middle name IRL is actually Rose. My family (and some friends - and everyone here, more or less!) calls me Rosey.

I want a rose... but not something typical and floral. I wanted something more unique than that.

And you're right... a wild rose with a few thorns. lol

I plan to put it on the back of my neck - hopefully I won't have to explain it to *everyone*! lol

I want a tatoo also, but I want something totally unique. I wish i could draw, but I can only make super stick figures.

As for explaining it to the grandkids, where i want my tatoo they have no business of seeing on their grandma anyways!

Not really , maybe it depends where you get your tattoo... but it does not hurt , well it did not hurt when I got my tattoo.

I was more nervous ... and was not thinking about pain. The first touch of the needle and you soon forget .. after some time that "buzzing " sound becomes hypnotic ... :)

Wow!

I had no idea there was this much commentary about me and my av....

Thanks so much Rose. I'm glad you like the av.

 :rose:  :)

I like the tattoo.

But getting a tattoo on the back of your neck.. won't that hurt like HELL?

I've alwaysh eard that tattoos on your back near the spine hurt but i don't know about the back of the neck........

Yep, I've heard that hurts too. The spine and the ankle are two of the most painful places to get them.

I love the design. It's rosey without being too girlie. ^v^

I had my first tat on my ankle and its really close to my ankle bone. Yes it hurt like hell but thankfully just as the pain was about to get to much for me.. the guy had to stop and do something else.

I think for each person the pain tolerance is relative. I had mine done near my hip a very sensitive area. It was fine.

I love the design Red! Very cool!

A good artist can make it even more yours by adding a little symbol her and there into the barbed wire or making the design just a tiny bit more yours with a slight difference in the overall design. You should take a pic of it to the artist and see what he/she thinks or can do with it..if you are questioning anything about it.

Enjoy it hun!
