tattoo or not tattoo....

Based on your current AV, (I just love your various av's), your pics and the huge amount of posts.

You definately have growing support from everyone here.

O

You're beautiful

Dolf, you are a beautiful person inside and out. I know from experience how hard it is to show what we think are our disfigurements, thank you for taking that step and sharing with us.

If getting a tattoo will help in the emotional healing, shutting a door on that part of your life and feeling better about yourself then by all means, go for it. Make it something very special to you, something you can be proud of for years to come. Tatts can be very sexy and sensual when done right.

Have fun with this and again, thank you for sharing the pics with us.

just to give you an idea of what i'm trying to cover...

I can understand you wanting to cover something you have issues with such as the scars, but they are part of you and you will always know they are there. I am not saying don't get a tattoo, just be sure it does make you happy for other reasons as well so there is less risk later of wishing you had not gone down that road. Guess what I am trying to say is be careful you do not think this will be a magic cure in dealing with it. It may be, but it also may not, and if you would not have normally liked having a tatt, then you may have 2 issues to learn to live with.

I can relate....has taken me decades to overcome my own issues with mine. Maybe in a way it was easier in that I just had to accept it in the end as the main one I have (the surgical one from when I was 17) is not able to be disguised by anything, even shows the disfigurement it has caused through clothing. LOL, shortly after it had healed, if that is what you could call it, a co-worker/friend begged and pleaded to see it. I only showed her the top inch or so and she passed out flat on the floor!!

I think that the idea is that Dolfie feels that they are "his" scars and have held a lot of weight on her mind. She wants them to be her "marks" now.
The physical is not the main issue, it is the mental scars she hopes to alter.
Besides, I think that they will give beautiul texture and lineage to the art that she will obtain one day.

I can understand that...for years I cursed the surgeon for not knowing I had this condition and thus taking more care which though it would have still been bad, it wouldn't have been as bad. It is all mental scarring, just don't want it to be increased for dolf. If she does not like the tattoo for it's own beauty, or it doesn't cover as much as she hoiped, isn't it possible to then feel in a roundabout way he has scarred her again by her making this choice? Maybe I am just too cautious, I do have a tendency to think things out from half a dozen angles before deciding if possible. Either way, I juat want dolf to be happy with her decision and not have any more pain.

We all want Dolfie happy and sexy! You are very sweet C., I appreciate reading your stories and experiences as well.
We all got scars to note daily I guess...:(
I 'd not necessarily call it all caution, I'd say wise too.

I understand the sensitivity about scars on your body. I had one covered up by getting a navel ring - the ball covers most of the scar and the ring takes the focus off the rest of it.

However, I don't think the scars look that bad on you. But then perception is in the eye of the beholder :) If you want to tatto over them, I say go for it! Just make sure it's something you really like, that it has meaning for you. But don't go for something off the wall that twenty other people are also going to have on their bodies :)

I'm planning on having Master's mark placed in the form of a tatoo soon. We've already decided on the Japenese form it will take on, though the placement is still up in the air (I'm partial to my bumm, where I know the fatty tissue will take up most of the pain lol).

*huggles* No more pain for anyone!!! I'll never understand people who abuse others, in whatever form it takes on. Incompent doctors, bad Tops, bad parents, etcs. How someone can get off from trying to destroy someone mentally or physically is beyond my perception.

As a bumpsticker I once saw said, "Mean people suck"

wow that is you in your av? you have a beautiful figure...that reminds me....i really gotta work on mine! :(

if the tattoo makes you happy...go for it. i got a tattoo about 18 months ago. i got it cause i wanted something to remind me of being young and enjoying life. after i had got it i phoned everyone!!! Even before i walked to the car! my dad says he's never heard me so excited and was pleased for me.

so if it's going to be something you really need to do...i'm all for it!

the tattoo in the picture you posted is lovely, but looks like it takes a long time and a number of sessions. a big tattoo on your back will need lots of looking after and of course, it may be a little awkward for you to do it. so as long as you have someone to wash it with Carex and look after it it should be fine.

all the best...let us know how it goes. oh remember that summer isn't the best time to do it as you have to keep it out of direct sunlight when it's new. even after i apply a higher factor, to keep it from fading.

I know you've decided to get a tattoo, and that's your choice. Personally, I don't like tattoos, on men or women. I guess I'm old school, or something.

But, this isn't my body, it's yours. The scars look worse to you than they do to others, I'm sure. It's just the way we are about ourselves. I've never liked my nose, but I'm sure notbody else notices it. And, plastic surgery is quite the rage these days, fixing things on ourselves that nobody else even notices.

Sometimes, when I need to make a big decision, I research it fully, and weigh all of the pros and cons. Then, I forget about it for a while.

The idea behind this is it clears my conscious mind of it, but my subconscious mind continues to hash it out, even though I'm not aware of it. Then, one day, the answer just pops out at me, just like that.

But, it's all about being happy with yourself. I think it's a serious step, but you've done the right thing by taking the time to think about it, and by asking the opinions of others, before you decided.

So, is it going to be a big picture of Elvis? :D
