I think of nudist tanlines as just another form of body art, like a tattoo or piercings. They draw attention to the things that the person wants drawn attention to.

I remember someone’s comment that tanlines were like swimwear with genitals, so it may well be that showing up at a nudist beach with them may well be a deliberate action to call attention to those areas, while others’ allover tans tend to have everything blend in.
OTOH, it may be that folks are just happy to finally be somewhere they can go fully nude.

Makes sense, my first wife liked tan line's where my current wife always liked no tan line's, both can look nice IMHO.
