A problem arises when people a) incorrectly connect the two and b) only read the 2nd amendment, and c) therefore don't have a clue what a militia is.

That's when you get people stockpiling assault rifles and form para-military groups to protect themselves from the Gubmint. And they call themselves 'militias' and think they're doing their patriotic duty.

So this is to them: No fellas, you're not, and you're not militia. You're armed thugs. Unless you'd adhere to Art I sec 8 and Art II sec 2. Which I find it hard to believe.
