Tales from th lost city

The girl was a fucking natural

Isa was some thing of a player when it came to girls. She was beautiful cocky and a bit of a womanizer so she knew good sex.

But this was out of this world

Isa kicked her boots off to help her wanting to get her tongue back as fast as possible. She was riving her wild with pleasure licking and sucking with a natural ease so much so that if Isa thought she was having a hard time figuring out if she was into girls or not then she would have straight up told her that mouth was made for licking pussy.

Instead she urged her on moaning and grinding her wet dripping pussy against her mouth roughly. She responded in kind even adding a few fingers in as she moved her sweet tongue to her clit.

“Oh god yes” Isa moaned at her question as she fisted her hair “your fucking natural its so good” She moaned leaning back as she felt her pleasure building.

“Oh shit baby you going to make me cum” Isa remarked moaning lowly as she began to leak into her mouth “Oh shit!” She shouted as her pussy began to squirt and she orgasmed hard.

…………….

“I am sorry” Edward said wincing at her words and realizing how dumb he sounded. Here he was questioning her loyalty to him when he could literally FEEL it through their connection. He only had to look inward to feel the strength of each others love yet here he was letting his human instincts resurface. Jealousy did not suit him he decided especially unwarranted jealousy.

“I should not have questioned” He remarked walking over to cup her face “not when I can feel your love” He said leaning in to kiss her deeply.

“I would say you and I is more akin to fate then a happy accident” Edward remarked letting her go and stepping back to his bed and his guns “to much kismet involved” He reminded her as he began to clean his pistol.

“So we are in agreement then” Edward said lightly glancing up at her and smirking as his eyes flashed with and blood lust “we kill the Russian”

………………..

Jack laughed shaking his head as he turned to her “I suppose so” He finally said putting his hands on the counter. There was a flash of green as runes appeared and ten morphed with two bags of take out suddenly plopped on the table.

“Your favorite and mine” Jackie remarked opening the boxes and letting the smell waft into the room “mmmm your right much better than my cooking” He said moving to the bar next to her and siding onto it.

“After this we need to get back” Jackie said his eyes flashing green “The second trial of war is nearing I can sense it like a storm”

Don didn't stay long in his room. With the girls busy across the hall, he didn't feel very comfortable being so close. His heightened allowed him to hear every word they said, smell the scent of their sex as it drifted through the door. Nicky told Isa the walls were thick but that meant nothing to a nonhuman. Despite the fact that only a few hours ago he'd helped her to orgasm, Don didn't much care to see her in that light. She was his friend, his only friend for a long time and he couldn't jeopardize that being jealous.

That thought shocked him a little. Brought a cigarette to his lips as he sat at the bar with an unopened bottle of scotch and an empty glass. He didn't really want to drink but it'd been the way he coped for so long that he didn't know what else to do. Besides, what did he really have to cope with anymore. He wasn't alone and he could have his memories back if he wanted them but Don found he wasn't as interested in his past as he used to be. What good would it do him to know a life he couldn't go back to? But still he couldn't bring himself to get rid of that old wedding band. Someone had loved him once and the idea kept him going on those cold nights in the park. He had more now though. A new life with purpose and beings to fill his disquiet in his heart. Sure he was alone at the moment but he wasn't lonely anymore. He knew who he was, what he was, and where he stood with these new people he found himself with.

"Not a bad deal," he mumbled to himself as he reach over the bar to replace the bottle and filled the glass with soda before he went to the kitchen to dig around in the fridge for something to fill his empty stomach.

Ghost couldn't help the way she giggled as Isa trembled under her touch. Her was more a nervous reaction to shock of being splashed with her orgasm. "Fuck that looks so hot up close," she heard herself say as she leaned forward to run her tongue along the trail of fluid on her thighs, her eyes locked with Isa's. "Not bad for my first time huh?" she asked with a cocky smirk as she kissed her way up her stomach. Ran her tongue over one hard nipple then the other before she settled on top of the more shapely woman.

She found she couldn't stop touching her. Her hands wandered aimlessly all over Isa's olive skin as Ghost settled down beside her, planting soft kisses along her collar bone and neck.

'Don't get clingy Ghost. Be cool.' She thought over and over again but out loud she said, "Thanks hot stuff. That was fuckin' awesome."

Then she did something that completely out of character, Ghost reached down and gave Isa's ass a hard slap. She drew her hand away quickly, her bright green eyes wide with shock and immediately apologized.

"Shit I'm sorry," she offered with a nervous laugh and covered her face. "I think I've been spending too much time with Don."

"We kill the Russian," Lem repeated with a smile, though her eyes flashed black and her teeth shifted down to their full length. She made no attempt to corrected her appearance as she stood to set her blades back in their sheathes and dress in fresh clothes. In her closet, Lem grabbed a pair of black fatigues out of the stack and pulled on a tank top before she slipped on her knife belt and drew her hair into a bun.

"We'll need the half-breed," she said absently as she grabbed the vest of throwing knives and put it on. "He's a bull in a china shop but he needs something to do and we need all the help we can get. Hopefully Laz and Jack can keep an eye on the girl's while we're gone."

When she was done, Lem went to Edward and took his hand in hers. "The ones he sent were the best but he'll have more. I saw how badly you want him Edward but I have to be the one to finish him off. I've waited too long for this moment and as much as I love you I can't let anyone else have the satisfaction of draining him dry."

With that, Lem let him go hoping he would understand.

***********************************************************

"Okay showoff," Laz said with a chuckle as she dug into the bags to find her the paper boxes from the Chinese restaurant they used to eat at all those years ago. And he remembered her favorites. Sticky wings, shimp lo mein, and kung poa chicken. She couldn't help but kiss his cheek before she dug into the wings.

"We better hurry then," she said after a few bites. "But all this comes back with us."

Isa laughed shaking her head and her butt as she turned to regard the sweet sexy girl in front of her. She deliveratly brought her legs up running her foot up her legs before she suddenly leaned in and gave her a deep kiss. While doing so she ran her hands down… and then smacked the girls butt sharply before collapsing into the bed and laughing.

“No need to apologize” Isa said snorting softly “I like a little kink in the bedroom and your not the first to swat my butt just be warned I swat back” She told her winking at her before she tipped her head back and stretched out on her bed.

“Well for some one who has never been with a girl you are a natural” She told her looking at her through her lashes as she made her self comfortable “Girl I don’t think I have ever had such a skillful tongue before so much so that im going to have to keep you all to my self” She told her reaching out and grabbing her arm sending her toppling into her arms.

“Mmmm damn girl” Isa said leaning in to kiss her deeply

……..

He watched her prepare for battle trying to shake the lust bruning inside of him as he prepared as well. He slid his gun into his holster and sat up pulling his own boots on and black fatigues. He opted out of a shirt instead grabbing one of his own combat knifes and flipping it in his hands before sliding it into his back holster. He was turning to tell her he was ready when her request hit him like a ton of bricks.

She wanted to be the one who dealt the killing blow

It wasn’t a surprise but it still hit him hard. The hate she had for the Russian was more than he did but it was still there burning in the pit of his belly. He didn’t know if when the time came he would be able to stop from tearing’s the mans throat out with his bare teeth.

If he didn’t however he may lose her

“We need to get going” Edward said opting out of saying any thing as he turned to the door “I have no doubt Jackie and Laz are already aware of our impending battle we don’t need to worry bout the girls so lets go get Dom”

……………

“We can take it with” Jackie said his voice becoming ethereal as his eyes glowed green “the time has come wars trial is set to begin” He said waving his hands. The kitchen of their new home disappeared becoming the kitchen that served as the bar/HQ.

“As I have told you we will not interfere” Jackie reminded her “instead we will watch the daughter of Edward and ghost” He told her simply not leaving it up for discussion as he began to eat again.

"Well I'm not usually one to share," Nicky said with a laugh as she allowed Isa to pull her close. The kiss that came after was electric, raising goose bumps all over Ghost's pale skin. This girl was something, she just wasn't sure what or why she made it back through the fog. Before Isa came to the base, she had so many questions but as they lay in the afterglow, Nicky found her mind blank. For the first time since the fog settled.

'I could get used to this.' It wasn't just a fleeting thought. Nicky wanted nothing more than to know everything there was no know about this olive skinned bad ass that seduced her into bed. Plus it was nice to be in the presence of someone who couldn't ripe her throat out or boil her inside with a wiggle of their fingers. She was just a regular girl. The boss's daughter. And Nicky was excited to see just how alike they were.

"Oh great," she mumbled as she sat up at the tug in the back of heard that told her Laz was back. "Jackie's gonna wanna talk to you I think."

**********************************************************

Lem ignored Edward's hesitation but trusted that when the time came he would be able to hold back. She trusted him. It had been a long time since she allowed herself the luxury of relationships and now she had several. When he said he was ready, Lem gave him a tight smile and headed upstairs to find the half-breed. She went to the bar first to grab a few bags of blood, enough to drive her to blood lust before his scent led her to the kitchen where Don was half in the fridge.

The counter was already covered with various food stuff, mostly meats but still he searched. She shook her head as she crept into the kitchen and hopped up onto the counter to enjoy her first bag.

"Even you can't sneak up on me old lady," he teased before he turned around with his arms full of salad fixing. He didn't bother using a bowl, just opened the bags and dug in like potato chips, his dark eyes studying her as she downed one, then two bags in succession. "If I didn't know any better I'd say your working yourself up for something," he said with a raised eyebrow and Lem rolled her eyes. Don snorted and grabbed a couple steaks to put on the grill that was already sizzling. When he turned back to face her, Lem was finishing her third bag. Her eyes were glassy black orbs that stared at him unblinking and he shook his head. "Whatever it is, I want in."

"I thought you might be interested," she droned, her blood stained lips set in a smirk that her draw teeth turned into a sneer. "You'll need more than those paws for this half-breed."

"You know I hate when you call me that..."

"And I despise being referred to as old lady so we'll call it even," she said and Don snorted as he grabbed the first steak off the grill. His skin sizzled when it made contact with the hot metal but he torn into the steak without pause, or cutlery. They just stared at each other for a moment, shoulders square and eyes narrowed before Don finally broke into laughter. Despite the rage coursing through her veins, Lem laughed too.

Before either of them could say anything else, Laz and Jackie were there with their own dinner in tow and Don's eye's got wide. "Chinese is way better than this. Lemme get one of those..."

One look from Laz and Don's lips disappeared from his face leaving an odd expanse of uninterrupted flesh between his beard and mustache. A lesser human might have passed out from the sudden like of the orifice but Don simply put up his hands and dropped his head. An apology of sorts and Laz made him right again.

"You gonna get enough of fuckin' with me big guy," she said with a smirk and Don shrugged, continued eating his steak.

"Then what would you do for fun," he said with a nod at Jackie. "So you guys babysitting cause apparently me, the old lady, and her boy toy have business elsewhere..."

"They are aware," Lem informed him as she finished her last bag. By now she was teetering on the edge of savagery. Her cheek bones sharpened making her face look almost cat like with her teeth at full length. Her voice was almost a growl and she couldn't keep her eyes off the stairs.

"You should probably get going," was Laz's advice. She followed the gaze of the elder vampire and knew that the heart beats of the two human girls naked in bed rang in her ears. Just to be on the safe side she put up a barricade in front of the stairs and Lem fixed her with a smile as she hoped off the counter.

The garrote came loose from her wrist to swing back and forth as she shift her eyes at Don. He said nothing, just went down to the armory to grab the light sticks, a shot gun, the twin .38 automatics and enough silver ammunition to kill half the vampires in the city. He packed it all in one of the tactical bags and slung it over his shoulder before he bound back upstairs to the kitchen.

"If I don't come back," he said with his eyes on Laz and she shook her head.

"You'll be back. Trust me."

They appeared inside the kitchen with a small pop and Edward followed his mate and battle partner into the bar grabbing his own bags of blood and trying his best to ignore….. the sounds coming from upstairs. He was having a hard enough time realizing his little girl was all grown up and had done so without him but that she was also a ex marine like him who had a penance for girls…….

That was an entirely other matter

He nodded at Don and settled in ignoring Lems interaction with him as he tore open his own bag of blood. He drank it down closing his eyes and letting the blood hit and fill his veins. It became much harder to ignore the two human girls upstairs but Edward did so repeating over and over to himself that it was his daughter as he started filling himself with his second bag.

Jackie popped in and once Don got his mouth back lazily waved his hand and gave Dom his own cartoon of Chinese food.

“Center your self boss” Jackie said his voice light and teasing with a hint of the power behind it “the task you are about to take on isn’t going to be easy and I forsee a bad outcome if you bring to much anger into it” He warned him before tuning to Lem.

“good luck though I doubt you will need it” Jackie said his mouth turning into a faint smirk “ Laz and I will protect the girls some thing tells me we will find our own trouble” Jackie said matter of factly.

“Now go and be swift” Jackie said noticing Lem as well “Laz and I got this and your prey is waiting for you” He advised them before waving his hands.

The trio disappeared popping into place a few blocks away form central park. Edward by now was on his third bag and he had to bite down on his lip to prevent himself from assaulting the pulsating bodies all around him.

“We need to go” He hissed threading his fingers through Lem’s hand glancing at her “Jackie is an idiot to drop two fully fed vampires in a crowded street”

Lem squeezed Edward's hand to keep him close to her and Don moved to stand on the other side of him just in case he made a break for it. "Relax Handler," she said calmly, having found her own center as soon as they touched down in the middle of the crowded sidewalk. It wasn't anything she wasn't used to but Lem understood how hard such a thing could be for a Fledgling. "We're right where we need to be..."

"Smells funny," Don mumbled and Lem nodded, leading Edward by the hand down an alley that lay between two "abandoned" high rise buildings. Don fell into step behind them, making sure to keep Edward at arm's length.

"It's the familiars," she told them in hushed tones as they came to a seemingly dead end. "They smell..."

"Like death..."

"Yet they would say they've never felt so alive. This place is crawling with those confused souls. The lucky ones are kept strapped down, attached to machines that keep their hearts beating but their minds quiet."

"And you say those are the lucky ones," Don said with a snort as he adjusted the straps of his bag so that it was tight to his back. He saw the way Lem glanced upwards and knew that a climb was coming. "My recollection ain't really the best but I remember not feeling all that lucky in a similar situation."

"Would have rather been caged and awake. Completely aware of the fact that you had become cattle or so deluded that you actually like it when they come for you. Kept on a leash like an animal..."

"I thought you said it'd been years since you saw him last?"

"The blood of his minions told me all I needed to know," she spat and in an instant, Lem was bounding up the side of the building.

Don was certain they'd set off some kind of alarm but still he jumped to pull down the ladder that lead to the fire escape and climbed up. "I'm starting to regret tagging along."

'Hardly, you love watching me swing my blades.' Her voice was in his head and Don looked up to find her perched on the side of the building with that cocky smirk on her face. He shook his head and kept climbing.

Edward followed them relying as much on Don as he did Lem. He was in uncharted territory so to speak sure he had read plenty of books about what it was like for a vampire with blood but reading about it and having so much coursing through your system and then being dropped among a fresh source was an entirely different thing. He felt some how like he had total control and no control at the same time like the tyrant who ruled the world but was addicted to wine. His power rolled off him in waves as if he could literally feel the weight of the world with every step he took. The blood inside of him coursed through him super charging him like a battery as they entered the alleyway.

Yet

The bodies the pulsating hearts the taste of blood it was every where! Sending him into a tailspin every time he thought he got control of it. If it weren't for Lems unbreakable hand and Dom at his back he would have killed every one in the square and drained them dry.

He was glad when the air changed and they reached the alleyway he to smelt the smell of the fledging but he made no comment on it instead looking up and judging how fast he could get up there. He pulled out one of his knives but let it hand loosely at his side instead giving Lem a nod to go first.

She took it jumping and soon she was messing and flirting with Dom as if it was another mission.

"If I wasnt so jealous i would say for you two to get a room" He replied trying his best to focus on humor as he began his climb as well "Or maybe we should just get Dom a picture of you and one of those blow up dolls" He remarked bounding over Dom and leaning in to give Lem a deep kiss. He winked at her and paused cocking his head to hear as they reached the half way point.

"Seems to easy" He finally said looking back down "Which means a trap of some sorts"

"Of course it's a trap," Lem said, the garrote coming loose from her wrists as she walked the perimeter of the roof. "That's why we brought the half-breed," she added with a wink at Don as he hefted himself over the ledge. "He knows we'll try to avoid it and I'm sure any alternate route is booby trapped as well..."

"I don't know about you guys but I much prefer a straightforward dance partner," Don said as he dropped his bag and opened it up. As Lem continued on her stroll, the half-human prepared for battle. He didn't have the luxury of being able to go into this empty handed. Sure he had a little extra but he knew he'd need more than fists for this, so he strapped on the tactical belt and vest, quickly began fitting it with all the weapons he brought. "I take it I'm the bait," he said absently and Lem smiled.

"He'll want to get me alone and we'll give him just that," she said with a glance at Edward before she turned her attention to Don. "Whatever he had waiting for us is under that duct. You two go down through there and I'll find another way. Nikolai won't be anywhere near the fight. He never liked getting his hands dirty." With that Lem stepped off the roof, dropping out of sight.

"I'd hate to be on her bad side," Don said as he pushed the UV sticks into the slot at his back like swords. Once he was all suited up he went to Edward and put a hand on his shoulder. "She'll be fine. This guy not wanting to get his hands dirty ain't got shit to do with why he sent his goons for you. Whoever this guy is to her, I'm sure he knows she wouldn't settle for some dickhead with sweet words. I bet he's shittin' bricks right now waiting for the ceiling to drop out.

But it wasn't the ceiling. More of an awning that covered a section of the building that jutted out from the side of the warehouse. At one point, before the fog, it might have served as a catwalk of some kind but now it served at the entrance to the den of the oldest vampire in the city. Lem knew he wouldn't expect her to come through the front door and she drew her blades before she gave it a strong kick.

"Its not her im worried about" Edward murmured watching her disappear and sighing. They were supposed to be working together moving to face him and taking them down as a team. Now however he was bait with the half breed the distraction while she sought out there prey.

He growled his fangs coming out he took a half step to go after her and then turned looking at Dom.

"Lets kill these mother fuckers fast so we can join her" Edward said pulling out his own light sticks and letting them flick on with a low hum. He waited for Dom to be ready then walked letting the little "trap door" meant for them to fall into activate. He fell down down into the darkness before landing on his feet and recovering with a roll.

All around him bright lights flickered on but he was ready having already slid the sunglasses over his eyes he brought and motioning for Dom to do the same. The light gave way to a cavernous storage building filled to the brim with vampires and ghouls.

"trap officially sprung" Edward murmured glancing over at Dom "want to see hwo can kill the most?"

Edward was channeling his rage rage at the Russian and his mate turning it into red hot fuel that threatened to explode out of him. He needed some one to kill some one to main and rip the flesh off of.

Luckily they were more than willing to help him with that

They moved as one a big collective cry coming out of their mouths as they bounded over crates shelves and forklifts. Edward answered them with a vicious cry of his own his hands going down to grab his holster gun. He drew fast than any one could blink his gun making several loud bangs as he dropped them right then and there. HE didnt bother to reload but pulled out his other gun taking another seven down before they even reached him.

"I've got fourteen" He sing songed his light sticks blurring into action as the first three reached him. They were no match for him and he ducked and shrugged off their attacks taking them out with a practiced hand. He moved faster than he ever had before ducking weaving using every part of his body to destroy the opposition.

Don hung back a moment to give Edward a chance to work out the aggression he had over being left behind. Guns in hand, he watched as the newly turned vampire laid waste to the opposition, keeping up a tally of his own of Edward's body count.

"It's 16 mate," he grunted, correcting his miscount as he finally joined the fray. Nikolai's minions threatened to flank them but Don had no interest in letting that happen. Nor did he care for keeping score. It was an unnecessary distraction as far as the hybrid was concerned. The only satisfaction he needed was when the stood in the empty room waiting for the next wave.

But it never came. "Well that was easier than I thought," Don said with a snort, dropping his empty handguns on the ground and pulling the tactical shotgun that hung from his belt. "Any idea where the old lady might be?"

**************************************************************************************

Lem didn't allow the barrage of gunfire distract her from the task at hand. Edward had survived, she could feel it in her bones and a small smile graced her lips when all went quiet again.

She continued on down the dark narrow hallway, her already heightened on high alert for any sound. Distant or otherwise. The steady drip behind her. The occasionally sound of rapid footsteps above. The cacophony of beating heart from his human captives. Lem heard it all but none of them drew a reaction. One foot in front of the other, shoulders square, blades firm in her grip.

clack click...clack click...clack click

That sound gave her pause and Lem cocked her head as it drew closer. She knew that sound, it used to drive her wild with anticipation. Now it simply set her teeth. To be fair it still sent a jolt through her being but the feeling was different. Blind white hot rage clenched her fists and flared her nostrils as she rolled her neck, preparing for combat. The sound quickened and Lem smiled when she realized he was coming right at her. There was a possiblity he didn't recognize her scent anymore since she'd mated with Edward but Lem knew something he could never mistake. The sing of her blades as she drug the edges together., sending a flash of sparks that illuminated the corridor. It was just an instant but it was enough for Lem to see the terror in his face.

"Well this is unexpected," echoed from the darkness. The nonchalance in his tone was put on and Lem gave him credit for trying but it wasn't enough to spare him. Or give him the pleasure of hearing her voice. "Shall we then?"

Lem charged him in answer and allowed her blades greet him and Nikolai raised his walking stick to block her but them was faster, dropping one blade low to cut slide across his thigh. It was purely superficial but still his blood was spilled.

They spent several tense moments trading blows, and dancing up and down the hallway with him chirping the entire time. "Ahh I taught you that," he teased after falling for one of her feigns and Lem pressed the advantage, sending lightening fast strikes most of which he failed to block. "That my dear is new," he gasped as she landed a hacking blow to his shoulder, knocked his stick from his hand.

Lem heard the bones crack and grinned a moment before she delivered her final blow, a downward strike that cleaved his arm off at the elbow. Her garrote came free from her wrist as she dropped her blades and circled him. Before Nikolai could react, she was on his back with the garrote around his neck. The blessed gold burned his flesh as she brought him to the ground with her knee in his back.

"You should left well enough alone," she whispered sweetly in his ear as she crossed the roasary behind his neck. "But alas I've waited long enough for another taste of you." With that she sunk her teeth into his neck, viciously ripping open his throat and proceeded to drain him.

"We need to find her fast" Edward said his fangs still dripping with blood as he rose "before she does some thing stupid" He muttered more to himself even though Dom would know doubt here it.

He didn't... no he COULDNT think about what she might do if left alone with the Russian for an extended time. He had to have hope had to trust that she would understand how important it was and not....

He was half way to the door when he heard it. The fighting had dulled the sound of the two of them dueling but now it was it rang sharply in his ears. She was engaged with him on the other side of the building beating him blow for bloody blow. The Russian was on the ropes clearly not having anticipated....... HER

"NO!" Edward growled pushing him self pushing his body as he heard his cleeved arm falling to the ground. He knew what was happening and he had to stop it.....

But it was to late

The sound of her fangs ripping into her throat sounded so much louder than any thing else as if his mind was amplifying it so that he could hear that it was finished. He found her just as she finished draining him a satisfied smirk on her face as she dropped his lifeless body to the ground.

"What have you done" Edward whispered his eyes narrowed at her "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!"

"SHE HAS FINISHED HER TRIAL"

The skylight above them crashed glass raining down as the sound of hooves filled the air. A flaming horse landed in between them piloted by a large hulking man covered in a blood red cloak.

"The vampire named Lem as passed my trial you were to late mate of the rider" He said his voice sounding slightly amused before he leveled his gaze at the vampire "War has chosen his champion" He stated rearing the horse up as he stretched out ah and wrapped in rags.

There was a crackling from above and from the skies a bolt of lightning slammed down into Lem. War faded away drawing up into the cloud as the lightening turned the same blood red. His power the power of a horseman flowed into her changing her super charging her.

.....................

"It is done" Jackie said looking out at the sky "but some thing has happened..... Some thing wrong" He said a worried look crossing his face as he rose out of the chair he was curled up with Laz in.

His eyes flashed green and he starred for several long moments before his eyes returned "shit" he murmured turning to her "Lem won the trial Edward didnt"

One minute Lem was turn in to face the rage that consumed her mate the next a gravelly voice filled her head. It sounded otherworldly, like the voice that came from Jackie on the pier but this was different. Harder, more intense. Rageful, and it filled up the reservoir of angst that emptied when she drained the last of Nikolai's life.

You are mine now Serkalem, my champion and I, yours. We are one now. Your body my vessel and in return I give you the gifts of War. The voice filled her mind as she felt herself thrown to the ground by an unseen force. Lem struggled to stand as lightening descended, engulfing her in angry red flames bringing the worst pain she'd ever felt in her long life. It was worse than the turn, worse than wandering into the sun as a fledgling. Her head pounded and her vision turned red, Lem was certain this would be her end and was immediately saddened by it. This was her punishment for leaving Edward behind, for stealing this victory away from him. Just when she couldn't bare it anymore, contemplating falling on her own sword, it was over. The flames were gone, as was the pain and it left hee feeling oddly rejuvenated.

Don watched the whole thing, rooted in his spot. When the rider came down he leveled his shotgun, prepared to take the shot but the image of the bulky figure warped before his eyes. Somehow Lem and the rider had switched places as the lightening crashed down around them. Then there were the flames and he threw up his arm to block the heat. He called out to her, then to Edward before he noticed the man was gone. Don turned and caught a glimpse of his retreating form. By the time he turned back to Lem she was back to normal.

Well almost normal. From where he stood several yards away, he couldn't miss the red glint in her eyes or the vibrant crimson streaks that shot though her once jet black hair. The gold rosary she used as a garrote was now a string of black and red spikes that terminated at a pair of crossed swords. He took a few tentative steps towards her, that's when he noticed the markings on her back as she stood. Swirls of red and black flames cascaded up her back and down her arms, Don couldn't help but wonder just how far down they went.

"Get your mind out of the gutter half breed," he heard her say but the voice in hia head was different, more like the voice of the rider's but with a sultry lilt that raised goosebumps down his brawny arms.

"If you saw yourself you'd understand," Don said with a snort as he holstered his gun.

"No mirrors remember...where's Edward," she asked but before she caught a flash of him on the roof just before he stepped off the side.

"He was pretty pissed you didn't follow the plan. Probably feels a little cheated..."

It was the way she unwound the garrote that stopped him from speaking the flames that erupted from the end of her blade made Don take a step back. Then he felt himself falling but it wasn't the floor of that dank hallway that met his back but the coffee table in the bar that crashed to the floor beneath him.

He opened his eyes with a groan and Laz let out a snort as he as up with a bewildered look on his face. "I'm gonna take a guess and say Lem was none too pleased with your reaction," she said behind a thick cloud of pot smoke. She reached down, passing down the joint as he stood and flopped down on the sofa across from them. With a few wiggles of her fingers, the broken pieces of the table came back together.

"Apparently not but I think this was more about Edward ditching at the end."

It was a little bit of both actually but once Don was out of her sight Lem focused her energy on Edward. She headed for the door, one foot in front of the other. Then she blinked. When her eyes opened she was standing in front of him on the busy sidewalk. "Well that's convenient," she muttered, unable to hold her smirk until she got a look at the anger in his face. "I'm sorry...I couldn't," Lem started, in an attempt to explain herself. It wasn't something she was accustomed to, even before she became immortal. And she made a split second decision that she wasn't go into change that, no matter how much she loved Edward.

"I know you wanted to do this together but you had to know it wouldn't be that way Edward. What he did to you was terrible but Nikolai didn't put you in that prison. All he did was take advantage of you and your abilities. He took my life Edward. You left that place and got to go home. When he was done with me I couldn't go back. I know you're angry and this isn't going to make it better. I did what I had to do and I'd do it again."

"You could say that" Jackie said watching as Don picked himself up and shook his head "our resident vamp decided to take the kill those winning Wars trail though Edward is admitably more upset about losing the chance to help kill the Russian"

Jackies eyes glowed and moved back and forth as if he was tracking some thing "Lems going after Edward now even though he doesnt want her to" He murmured before his eyes returned to normal and he regarded both don and laz.

"how would you guys like to go have some fun why the two vampires tackle their relationship issues" Jackie said a wicked grin spreading on his face "I got word on some elves attacking a templar hideout" He said

..........................

He turned his eyes narrowing sensing her the minute before she came into being in front of him. Did she not get that he wanted to be left alone? That he needed time to cool down, time to make sense of his feelings. Yet here she was standing in front of him explaining why she did what she did.

But it only made him angrier

He listened to her speak his eyes narrowing as she finished "you think your anger and your wrongs were more than mine then" He said struggling to contain his voice "and you think that meant that you needed to lie to me and take away what was just as much mine as it was yours.... you dare!" He said his voice rising an octave.

"I did not realize this was some pissing contest about who was wronged more by him I thought we were both kindred spirits and together we would take out our anger on him and be able to face the future together healed and as one.... now you have gained closure and i have not and whats worse i have been betrayed by the one i love the most" He said his fangs sliding out at his last words.

"You know how important this was to me how important it was to both of us regardless of what happened to either of us we were two halves of a broken hole who found each other found a love greater than each of us could have imagined a love that the Russian had helped create.... I am glad you got your closure but now i never will because you robbed it from me"

"I do not expect you to apologize it is not in your nature nor do i not expect you to own what you did as you are no coward and it is one of the things i love about you but I must do the same I must give you honesty and honestly i dont know if i can ever forgive you even if i know i will never stop loving you" Edward said bluntly.

Don took a long pull off the joint and held the smoke as he contemplated Jackie's invitation when Laz rubbed her hands together. A hush came over the bar and an eery darkness settled around then as she spread her hands, producing a bright yellow orb that grew in her palms. She pursed her lips and let out a long sustained breath, expanding the orb until a scene developed inside. The markings on her arms and bare legs vibrated, her eyes omitted the same amber glow as the orb.

"We should probably make sure she doesn't do anything too crazy," Laz said, her voice filling the room even though her lips didn't move. "She volatile without somebody riding her back. I'd hate for this to be the end of us because you didn't want to be bored," she said to Jackie and Don snorted as he passed her back the joint.

"She's right about that," he said before Laz cut her eyes at him, shutting him up.

She turned her attention to the orb where Lem stood encased by a fiery red glow. Ethereal flames licked up from her shoulders but as she listened to Edward speak about his hurt feelings. The elder vampire remained quiet as he said his piece, her jaw rolling as a rage built inside her.

"Settle," she heard Laz's voice inside her head even as War tried to force it away. "Remember who you are Serkalem. Remember who he is to you." A memory flashed of the first day she saw him, sitting in a car as she crossed the street in Hell's Kitchen. Their eyes met for just a moment but still something passed between them. A knowing, however brief, it facilitated their coupling years later.

A smile came to her lips then but it wasn't a pleasant one as she settled her red eyes on Edward. Her mate. He spoke of honesty as if he were the only one who felt the need. Lem was certain he expected some sort of contrition over what she'd done but there was none.

"This is why I don't date," she said before she turned to walk away from him. She took two steps before she spun back and was nose to nose with him. "You speak to me of closure," she seethed through clenched jaws, her eyes aflame with rage. "If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have had the chance fledgling so do not speak to me of closure. You had a life when you got from under him..a daughter who loves you. A wife who couldn't understand but still she tried. You had your closure in the arms of those who loved you, but you couldn't be satisfied with that. You wish for honesty," she said her nostrils flared and teeth set at full length as she leaned into him. "I could care less for your forgiveness fledgling. You call me selfish yet here you stand stomping your feet like a petulant child instead of being elated that a public menace has been dealt with and that is the difference between you and I. I do what needs doing regardless of consequence. You think our bond makes us stronger, against the average foe that might be true but Nikolai is...was by no means average and would have made it a liability. I refused to give him that chance, saving us both so forgive me fledgling for making the decision that allowed you to show me just how ungrateful you truly are."

Lem didn't wait for his reaction and disappeared in a flash of red lightening, only to materialize in her old dingy apartment. She felt the distance between her and Edward like a stab to her heart as she fell down on the lumpy pallet she used to call a bed. Laz ended the connection before they could witness the elder warrior break down into sobs, but still she felt her anguish as tears flowed down her own face.

"I need a minute," Laz whispered before she too was gone.

She said nothing as she sat down beside Lem and ran a hand down her back. She didn't do anything, just consoled her as she cried.

"Well I guess it's just you and me," Don said to Jackie with an uncharacteristic frown on his face.

Jackie sighed his brow furrowing as the absence of their friends and the scene hung in the air.

"I guess so" He finally said his eyes flashing green as he watched Laz console Lem. He felt his humanity and his heart tug for his friends and the fallout but pushed it away instead immersing himself in the magic. They would come back together if not by them selves then with his help. Because they were needed for what was coming.

And because they were his friends

"The elves have found a Templar camp nestled in the park some thing they have been using as a staging area for their attack on the elves the elves are bringing their might down to show the templar they aren't playing around but the templars are bringing serious help help the elves aren't prepared for"

Jackie waved his hand and suddenly they were in the middle of a clearing, a distant battle reached their ears a clashing of swords and the sound of automatic fire. Jackie turned pointing to the gap in the clearing his magical gauntlet forming over his bicep as he pointed out the battle to Don.

"Shall we?" He said smirking his eyes flashing with green light

MEANWHILE

Edward watched her disappear recoiling as if she had physically slapped him. Her words stung even though he hadnt expecting any thing else from her. Some one probably try and say she was being insensitive but in a way some of what she said had rung true.

He was just to angry to really care

Her absence from her hurt gripping his dead hurting and causing it to painfully flop. He doubled over for a second before he finally managed to calm him self and think about his next move. Going to their shared apartment sounded about as fun as going to the bar and dealing with every one, he could go find her but he wasnt ready for that just yet.

Which dindt leave him with a lot of options

He found himself thirty minutes later in a vampire bar drinking a weird blood and alchohol mixed drink he was struggling to get used to. Every one was giving him a wide berth partly because he was new born and partly because he had the distinct emotional air of some one who said "fuck with me if you dare".

"I don't know what it was with you people that you forget I need weapons too," Don with a groan and he shook out the last bit of disorientation that came with magic fueled travel. He rolled his shoulders, his dark eyes on the confrontation before them. Nearly a mile away, he had very little trouble making out the difference in combatants and found himself shaking his head. "For all their magic and long life, I still don't get why the pointy ears don't upgrade from bow and arrow. They gotta know that shit don't get through Kevlar."

He glanced over at Jackie as the gantlet appeared on his wrist and sucked his teeth. "Send a inter dimensional being to who the fuck knows but nobody thinks to set Don up with some Johnny on the spot arms. That's just selfish mate."

*********************************************

"This senseless snivelling is quite unbecoming of War's champion!"

The words echoed around inside Lem's head as if they were her own thoughts. If she were of weaker stuff, they might have struck her in a way that brought more than minor annoyance.

"That was your choice not mine, so shut up or fuck off," she droned with her face still buried in the pillow. It had been decades since Lem allowed herself the luxury of tears and despite the reason, she found it oddly pleasurable that she still had it in her. "Not you," she said as she turned to face Laz.

"I know," she said with a sad smile and ran her hand through Lem's red steaked hair. "This is awesome by the way...I could show you..."

"I've never been one for vanity," she said finally pushing herself up off the bed. The sight if her forearms, the swirling flames that cascaded over her chocolate skin made her pause and her eyes widened.

"If they're anything like Jackie's they probably go all the way down to your ankles," Laz said and gave Lem's tank top a tug. "Good thing they're only on your back..."

"He's never going to forgive me is he," Lem interrupted as she began pacing the floor in front of Laz. "I ruined it, didn't I? And the things I said... "

"Were all true. He knows it. You know how they are," Laz said and rubbed her hands together a couple times before she opened them to reveal two cigarettes. Lem smiled at that and took one up. Laz lit them both with a snap of her fingers. "He'll get over it. He don't really have a choice at this point. It's killing him just as much as its killing you to be apart. That's the thing about you primal types... can't really do the storm off bit."

"I did... "

"And how's that working out for you..."

Somewhere across town in a dive bar sat a young vampire hell bent on trouble. Having been just released from a three year stint in the MPC brig for the unlawful turning of his then girlfriend who then went on to rampage her apartment building. There weren't many places left that Brent Galway still had access. He'd burned a few bridges on the run and the rest on the inside. Lucky for him the Suckers Salvation had an open door policy. If you had the coin that is and he had that in spades.

He scanned the bar for an easy target and found nothing but elders and their pets. Trouble he didn't want. Then the door opened and in walked a mark. A smile made its way too his thin lips as he watched the man take a seat a few stools away and order a drink. Brent gave him a minute or so before he took his own drink to join the newcomer.

"Well if it isn't the white wolf's disgraced puppy...or should I say changeling," he said, sniffing the air around former Agent Edward Thornton. "How long has it been...2 weeks...month maybe? Still a bit of raw meat on you if you ask me. What happened, your girl turned you out then tossed you cause you couldn't keep up? Shitty way to go ain't it?" He asked with a snort before he finished his drink and motioned for another. "I bet you don't even remember me do you? Maybe you remember Siobhan Finn? Blew her head off with that shotgun of yours."

Jackie rolled his eyes, seconds later Don was strapped to the gills with all the weaponry he could ever want.

"Better?" Jackie asked not bothering to wait for the answer as he moved forward his gauntlet activating as he to sighted the combatants.

MEANWHILE

She was death

She was vengeance

She was hope

"Die like the dogs you are" Diana snarled her forest green eyes narrowing as her blade cut a swath through the templars. They regrouped around her all clamoring their guns drawing as they each tried to get a piece out of her.

And she smiled

Each one she killed was a step towards finishing them, each one she killed was a step towards her sisters no longer living in fear, and each one she killed was a step towards finding her little sister.

And so they would all die

"sisters regroup" Diana said her black raven hair whipping as she raised her sword to rally them "We must move as one" She hollered just as a group of tanks thundered into the area.

"your right they really need an upgrade"

A wall of solid stone shot up just as a round of shells rocketed against it. Jackie appeared his gauntlet glowing as he worked his particular brand of magic.

MEANWHILE

Edward scowled into his drink feeling him coming. Years of being in the military and as a government agents only meant that he had a six sense when it came to some one trying to fuck with him.

Like now

He listened to the mans spiel rolling his eyes and waiting for him to finish. Once the man was finally he done he very deliberately looked him in the eye draining his glass in one smooth gulp.

"Yeah I remember the bitch" He said getting up drawing himself to his full height "I remember popping her head off to because she was trying to drain some kids i also remembering putting your ass away clearly your feeling nostalgic so why dont we do another song and dance for old times sake" He said his eyes narrowing as his fangs slid out not even noticing every one else getting up and glaring at him.

Don smiled a thanks at Jackie, feeling the weight of the heavy tactical vest laden with all the weapons he might need. There was a military rifle on his back and he brought it around his front. The motion triggered a feeling akin to deja vu but he shook it off and charged forward.

The rumble beneath his feet sent him stumbling and he mumbled a curse under his breath as he quickly changed directions, headed straight for them. There were grenades on his chest, 6 in all. "Enough to bless them all twice," he said with a grin as he let go three rifle and ran full tilt at the tanks. Don guessed the templars hadn't anticipated the elves having back up. None of the tanks were guarded and he made his way on top of the first without anyone taking notice. With brute force alone, he yanked open the hatch with one hand and three grenade primed in the other. He dropped it in and dove off all in one motion, didn't even flinch as the tank exploded behind him.

That ruined the element of surprise and the hatch of the second tank was opening as he climbed aboard. His rifle at the ready, he didn't give the Templar time to turn before he fired. Shots rang out from the third and Don quickly returned fire but missed. "Son of a bitch I'm rusty," he grunted as he yanked another grenade off his vest, gave it a smooch and let it fly. It bounced off the hatch of the third tank, rolled around the rim and tumbled inside, exploding seconds later. "And the crowd goes wild," he mumbled as he pulled the pin of hits third grenade and dropped it into the tank he rode.

His ears were ringing now being so close to all the explosion but that didn't stop him. It was an oddly familiar feeling but he was too busy running to dwell on it. He came to Jackie's wall and got to the top in one bounding step. That's when he saw her.

The world slowed a moment as he watched her. Her pale skin spattered with blood. Her impossibly black hair flowing wildly as she swung her long sword. Her leather armor was snug against her body, revealing a sensuous silhouette as she moved. She was surrounded by gunman but she seemed poised in her combat. Don took aim, leveling his rifle in her direction with his sights set on the Templar around her. He took them out one by one with a precision he didn't know he possessed.

And then the world resumed it's spin.

**********************************************************************

"We need to go," Lem said abruptly as the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. She knew the feeling but couldn't quite explain it.

Lax recognized the confusion in her face and smiled. "You better go get him before he makes a fool of himself."

"I don't even knew where he is," she growled, knowing the aggravation she felt was not her own.

"Cause you too much in your feelings," Laz said with a snort and Lem turned her fiery gaze on her. But of course the sorceress was unimpressed, raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest. "Save that shit for somebody who cares. Stop being stubborn and go where you feel him."

And like that she was gone, leaving Lem alone to contemplate those words. She'd done it before but she was so angry that she didn't even realize it. Lem took a slow deliberate breath in an attempt to calm herself but it only served to bring more frustration. And rage. She blinked once and nothing.

The next she opened her eyes on the street, but Edward was no where in sight. She smelled him though. The scent of new death mingled with her own. Then his voice was in her head...'...your feeling nostalgic so why dont we do another song and dance for old times sake'...and she turned towards the sound. Suckers Salvation. She'd been inside before and it was no place for a fledgling.

Lem threw the door open, her garrote coming loose from her wrist as she stepped inside. And there he was poised to pounce on some idiot itching for an ass whooping. A hush came over the rest of the patrons. Those who had been standing quickly found a seat as she entered.

"You sure about that young one," Brent growled as his own teeth set in his gums. So consumed by the sight of Edward he didn't notice the new scent in the air until it was too late. He whipped himself around and came face to face with the vampire no other vampire wanted to meet. He visible deflated and uttered the name that brought dread to those who used to haunt Hells kitchen. "Serkalem?" It came out in a whisper and she smiled as she ran her tongue across her teeth.

"You say my name like you know me," she said as she swung her enchanted rosary. Lem flicked her eyes at Edward but let them settle on the boy who brought the trouble. "He isn't worth it but I won't steal this vengeance from you." The words were for Edward, and even though she didn't look at him, Lem knew he felt them just the same.

She didn't stick around to insure her appearance was enough to settle the squabble, simply turned on her heels and left the way she came.

Diana scowled her breast heaving as she watched the soldiers in front of her crumple to the ground. Who dared take the kill from her? She growled her eyes narrowing as she noticed the man on the top of the large barrier.

Him

"Leave now" Diana said to the wizard in front of her "we dont need the help of your kind the one who refuses to face the threat to my people the elves will destroy this templar race without the help of vampires and sorcerers" she spat out as she turned and began to gather her warriors.

"Maybe not" Jackie said his eyes growing green as he drew his full power to himself "but we are an interested party one who wants to see teh templar menace burned away as well besides you can not prevent us from helping you"

Diana whipped around faltering as she sensed the being behind the man "you are man chosen to herald death" she whispered as her warriors shuffled uneasily "tell me why does death care about the plight between elves and men?"

"Because of what is coming" Jackie said his voice becoming that of the herald "because we are man as well and because we know what is happening to your people now do you wish to talk or wish to rid the park of the menance once and for all?"

"Fine" Diana growled her eyes shifting to the man on the barrier once more "but keep him away from me" She murmured tightening her grip on her sword and raising it "for our Queen" She shouted hearing their answering shout. She pushed past the barrier her eyes narrowing art the amazing templars as she launched her self at them with a ferocious snarl.

"Well arent you making friends" Jackie said appearing at the top of the barrier with him. Jackie slid in another card a great big beast with wings appearing out of midair to join the fight.

..............

Edward bared his teeth in response baiting him daring him to try and fight him. He knew he would probably get his ass kicked by every one in the bar but he didnt care he was angry... Angry and wanting to get it out in some way and form.....

Then she appeared

Her transformation even now shocked him causing his composure to slip. There she was the angel of war his mate in all her glory. She was stunning retaining just enough of her old beauty for his heart to swell along with her new. She captured the entire room with her presence but then she had done that even before she became... this.

She strode forward backing him up as always. She didnt really look at him except flicking her eyes over as if to assess he was okay before she said her piece. The man deflated and Edward couldn't help but be pleased and a little turned on to see her command the room so easily. He supposed he should be angry for her coming in and taking the fight from him but instead... instead he just

missed her

She was gone and a silence hung in the air for a while before he got off "looks like my other half saved us both" he said looking at him "you ever want to come fight me without the backup i promise not to bring mine" he said before looking up.

"Laz please take me to her" he said knowing she would hear

Don watched the exchange from his perch, smiled when the elf warrioress cut her eyes at him. And again he was enraptured as she hoisted her sword, rallying her troops. Jackie's voice beside him cut off the impure thoughts that swirled in his mind as he looked at the goddess of a woman.

"Ehhh, what fun is it if they fall at your feet," he said with a shrug as he hoisted his own weapon and moved off the wall. Don took up a position beside. Sure they were separated by a few yards with her own squad and a contingent of Templar between them but still he felt like they fought side by side. He mirrored her movements so as not to cross into her line. If she advanced then so did he. If she withdrew...well she never did withdraw and he was mesmerized by her prowess.

It wasn't as if he hadn't seen a beautiful woman fight. One of his best friends these days was one such woman but Lem was a savage with her blades, brute force and very little finesse. This elf though, she was something else. Graceful, even as she cleaved off limbs and ran men through, her movements were so fluid that he swore he heard music playing.

But all there was was gunshots and the strangled cries of the Templar in their path. Eventually those paths met and they found themselves shoulder to shoulder against a lone Templar. He leveled his weapon and Don let out a snort. "Your mate...have been for a while now. I yield to you Milady," he said to the warrior elf with a bow. "The names Donovan by the way...and I'm not exactly a vampire."

*************************************************************************

Lax rolled her eyes at the sound of Edward's voice in her head and mumbled a curse as she sat up in bed. "You know I don't get much alone time these days and you people and your drama ain't helping," she said, her eyes already glowing as she waved her hand in the air, changing the scene on the television to reflect reality.

Lem hadn't gone far, choosing to use her feet instead of the gifts bestowed upon her by War or the curse left to her by Nikolai. She just wanted to walk. It was a common practice for her before she got roped into the MPC and she missed it. Her hands tucked into her pockets, all manner of beings gave her wide berth before. Now with War riding her shoulders, they crossed the street. Lem didn't mind, being alone for so many years, she'd gotten used to the sound of her own voice in her head. But new there were others.

"Stop. He's coming," she heard Laz say and her feet stopped moving on their own, bringing a groan from Lem.

All this Lax showed Edward, though he might have seen it as a distant memory in his mind. "She ain't got far and I can't hold her forever but you gotta get there on your own. You fucked up so you fix it."

He felt himself settle on solid ground and turned murmuring a thank you to Laz. He saw her and moved forward ignoring every one parting to give her a wide berth and moving to face her.

"Release her please" Edward said to Laz locking eyes with her "if you want to disappear I dont blame you" he said softly gathering himself.

"I do feel wrong and I do feel hurt" he said continuing to stare at her "and even though my outburst was childish... there was real feeling there but I dont exact you to apologize... nor do i think you expect me to"

"I love you Serkalem and I dont care about the Russian not any more he is done and gone and i refuse to let him drive us apart or continue to be a force of menance in our lives or drive us apart any more than i want mine or your stubbornness to drive us apart" He said dropping on one knee and taking her hand.

"we have a future to look forward to and even though we have done every thing else together I ask but one more thing of you to spend your life with me as my mate.... and as my wife" he said kissing her hand "please?"

She listened to him with her jaw clenched tight to keep herself from saying something awful again. And as much as she wanted to leave him blubbering on the street, Lem couldn't bring herself to pull away from him.

"Get up," she said and gave his arm a yank to pull him to his feet. "I hate grand gestures Edward, you should know that. Just like you should know how much I love you and how silly it is for you to ask such a thing. Who else would I be with other than you? You said it yourself. We are mated and there's nothing stronger than that. If I were your wife, I could leave you at the slightest annoyance but as your mate you're stuck with me and my quick temper and sharp tongue. And now with War on my back I imagine those things will amplify. I can't promise we won't have strife. If this goes right, we will see many lifetimes together Edward and I have to be sure that you won't turn your back when things don't go your way."

There were tears in her eyes again and this time War did well to stay out of it. Her mind was full of thoughts of her own making but Lem didn't like those either. For the first time since her turn, she found herself uncertain and it was disheartening. "You asked me to be your wife... your partner in this life but how can I trust a partner who's solution is to walk away. There was one who walked away from me before and now his life flows through my veins. I would hate to serve you the same fate." Her eyes flashed red at the last and the tattoed flames that swirled along her neck writhed like real fire as she glared at him. Lem opened her mouth but it was the voice of War that came forth. "Let it not happen again."

Diana looked at him for several long minutes before shaking her head and growling “I can smell what you are Halfling” She said her chest heaving once more as the rest of the Templars began to flee from the combined attack by the elves and the duo.

“You took my kills from me” She said stepping up bringing her self to her full height “and here you are being cocky with me attempting such brash male bravado of which I have no interest or care to deal with” She said turning and glancing over at Jackie.

“Both of you got involved in our affairs yet do you know what the elves are dealing with you have the power of a god and yet my people my women are getting abducted and captured and from what we here raped”

She paused her voice wavering slightly at that omission “My Queen has asked for help but you humans have been slow to help even though it was our pact with the dragons that ended the never ending war but not you can rest easy since you HELPED” she said spatting it out.

“Shush” Jackie said his voice filling with the voice of a god “we are here to help you our team is also interested in the case were here to help you to end this threat to your people once and for all”

……………..

“I didn’t-“ He said trailing off and sighing “I am sorry” he finally said running a hand through his hair “It was not my intention to seem like a coward to you or to run off I didn’t think it would seem like that you should know I could never leave you not truly not when you and I are mated for life”

“Your right I know you hate grand gestures…. Maybe this was a fool thing to do” He said sighing and looking at her “but I promise to never turn my back on you again even if we run into a problem… even if we strife I will always be by your side to deal with it together”

"Good," Lem said with a soft smile and laced their fingers together to pull him into a quick kiss. She wanted more but it would have to wait, for now they had business. "Come my love. We must save the half breed from being maimed by a band of elves." Lem slipped her arms around his waist, one hand drifted up the back of his shirt as the air snapped around them.

Don was just about to interrupt their bickering when a bolt of lightening slammed into the ground before them. Instincts had him raising his weapon, even if the sight was a familiar one.

"Little late aren't you," he said to Lem and Edward as they emerged from the cloud hand in hand.

"Seems you did well without us," Lem said as she stepped away from Edward to survey the carnage. All the fresh blood in the air had her teeth set but she was oddly at ease as she stepped over the bodies. She gave Don's back a slap as she settled beside him and followed his gaze to the buxom elf. "Maybe not as well as you would like," she added with a smirk and Don shrugged.

"Put in a good word for me will you," he whispered as Lem moved to join with Jackie and she rolled her eyes.

"You have need for me brother," came from her mouth but again it wasn't her voice that spoke the words, her eyes shifted to the elf with the long sword. "A warrior of your caliber deserves a proper introduction. Serkalem," she said, extending her hand. "Recently claimed by War but I'm sure you know that. My mate is Edward and you are...Diana," she said with a glance at Don. "Forgive his imprudence, he's not used to dealing with breasts and brains all at once. Give him time to adjust."

“I am sure he will find a new woman to adjust to” Diana said sniffing with an air of disdain and looking between the two “I find it suspicious that two of the riders would be interested in what is essentially a turf war between two warring species” She said turning to her warriors and gesturing for them to be on guard.

“Hello brother” Jackie said as war ignoring Diana for now “You choose well” He said simply before turning his attention back to Diana “as I said and my brother will attest to based on what is coming it does not bode well for this Templar threat to remain as it is only a small part of a larger grand plan we shall go to your Queen and my brother and I will enter the fray for the first time in a millennium”

Jackie waved his hand and suddenly they were deep in the forest surrounded by elves leveling bows at them. Jackie rolled his eyes ignoring them all as he stepped forward.

“Queen Esmerelda of the elves my brother and I wish to speak to you about the threat facing your borders”

There was silence for a few seconds before the king strode forward. The other elves including Diana bowed their heads dropping low as she entered.

“We are honored to have the old gods in our kingdom” She said bowing to them before gesturing for every one to rise “even if they have brought…. Less than savory friends” the elf said baring her teeth “but I echo my high warriorsess what business do you have with this turf war? What is the Templar threat?”
