OK,I know this has been done before.BUT new people come and go.And instead of bumping old threads,,thought I would start anew.
So,have you ever met anyone in Real Life that you met online?Friend and Lovers both please.Very Curious as to how it turned out.Was it what you wanted?Better?Worse?No naming names if you dont want,just your reaction to what happened.

I did years ago, but after a few negative meetings I stopped meeting people in person, or rather became very leary of doing so......

I have met a LOT of people I met online.But will qualify that is was all on a friend level,Every one turned on fucking great.I met what is now a VERRYYY good friend online.I guess it varies from person to person.

I think it does vary from person to person and I ended up getting the bottom of the barrell....I have a few friends that I still talk to occasionally that I met on a local BBS years and years ago (yeah BBS will tell you how long it's been! lol) but the few I met in person were the desperate ones you tend to find online...

maybe therein lies the problem.I think that if you are VERY honest (both parties,not just one),and you have an idea of what to expect....i see no potential snags.The honesty thing for me is the kicker.

of course.....I think where the problem was is that sex conversation was had and in the others mind, it was gonna happen when we met....yeah women can be just as bad as men sometimes....the one that really cinched it for me to stop meeting practically attacked me to get in my pants LOL I go into meeting anyone without ever thinking something sexual is gonna happen...yeah it's inevitible that talk of sex will occur on a board such as lit, but you have to know to draw the line when you meet and realize that if it happens, it happens, if not then oh well, but you can't force it to happen...

My sister in law met her husband online,,and they have a BEAUTIFUL marriage
3 friends met their SO's on line
One,,,getting married next weekend......
the other two enjoying life with them and very happy

its possible...I'm not saying it wouldn't happen....maybe sometime again in the future I might do it, but even when I've gotten to know people I've met in person and not from online, I've been a bit leary of doing that....who knows...

Honestly,,,I think you take the same gamble as meeting someone onine as you do meeting someone in person.People are people,,,I dont think the medium in which you met matters that much at all.Its what you do after you"meet".Once again,,,stressing the honesty card heavily.

very true...whether you met at a bar or online, it all comes down to honesty and there are dishonest people wherever you may go

well alison..i will answer this..yes i have met some from lit..one i was invoved with on and off for 3 years..would I do it over..maybe but i would behave differently..something he said to me towards the beginning of the end of whatever it was we had made me realize what a fool I was ..The other person I met I adore and would break plans with the President to see again...
and to be honest there are a few (you included) i would love to meet in real life...

I agree with the honesty part!
All four were exactly who they were online! I agree that online is just like the world everywhere.There are honest people and dishonest people everywhere! Online,its just easier for the dishonest people to be dishonest!

Just to add also online communocation CAN be a lil hard to do at times.There are things I have wanted to say.meant to say,,,that once i TYPED them,,went all FUBAR and pear shaped.SO..just sayin',,,,

Nope,first of all Im not looking for a partner cause I got one and very much happy,second of all, I going to couple of forum boards only for fun and to pass time,actually,I quit from the other board,though I made a lot of friends on line on that forum board.As a matter of fact,that's were I met the person who introduced me in LIT,we became really close friends and treated each other like siblings...you know sister/brother relationship.That man,I introduced him to one member in LIT...they'll see each other soon...anytime by next week...and so excited for them...hopefully it will work and will last forever whatever they have now (fingers crossed).

Have a lots of online friends,women/ men all over the world,mostly US,UK and couple from Aussies and some from Canada,do I have plans meeting them,if there's a chance why not,just a casual friendly meetings...chit..chat...get together,nothing wrong with that.

I want to qualify myself tok<yes I have met someone online that I want to meet in RL.I was NOT looking at ALL either when I met this person.Was just walking along minding my own business and BAM!!!Lol
Which makes me think that it will be good even all the more
