WARNING: Prostitution is NOT legal in Vegas, contrary to popular belief.

It IS legal in Nevada, but only in towns with a set small population (I forget the exact figure), but Las Vegas does NOT apply.


I know you said "outside Vegas" but just felt it necessary to point out that little subtlety.
Edit: If you stay in Vegas, you will be approached by prostitutes. Don't think it is "okay" and that "everyone" takes a prostitute back to hotel room. The hotel will find a way to get you thrown out if you do.
That happened to a coworker I worked with back in Nevada.

if you go to one of the legal brothels in nevada, there will be no negotiating. They will present you with a menu of services and you will choose from that.
