What's the over/under on people shot and again on murders on the 4th of July in Chicago?

I say at least 12 shootings and at least 3 murders. :(

I think the odds are that most Chicagoans will think that 9 out of 12 shooters are lousy shots.

Chicago would easily have the most murders per capita in the entire world if not for the fact that gang members are really lousy shots and Chicago emergency rooms have some of the best combat surgeons in the world.

I think we would get to the inevitable conclusion a lot quicker if we taught basic marksmanship in Chicago schools and we just shuttered the ERs. It's not as if most of the people getting shot are not themselves violent felons or are likely to be missed by anybody that matters

If anyone in Chicago actually cared about black people being shot then all felons once they've paid their debt to society would immediately have their gun rights restored, sensibly, concealed carry would be 100% legal and the norm and with an armed populace who can confidently carry l without fear of arrest when merely caring for peaceful, defensive purposes you would find a lot less of these cowardly shootngs going on. But nobody cares so they're free to carry on as they wish in Chicago.

Well day one of the long weekend has past and the numbers speak for themselves.

Let's see what the next 72 hours bring for Chicago in the way of violent crime (shootings mostly). We will revisit this on Monday morning, but at the rate it is going so far, the city may just top 100 shootings in the spirit of celebrating the nations founding.

Would anyone from out of town care to visit Chicago over the next few days?
