(And please, if you find this helpful, keep this thread bumped for a while so everyone gets a chance to check their security.)

You can use this site to:
  • Scan for Security Risks
  • Scan for Viruses
  • Trace A Potential Attack

The number of people with vulnerabilities is quite high. And 30% of people aren't even doing the minimum of running an AntiVirus product. Of those that are running an AV product 12% do not have updated definitions. Which basically means that 42% of people on the internet are at risk of viruses and, in turn, put us all at risk as well.

54% of people's web browsers releases information about the site you last visited to other Web sites. That means if you come here to Lit or any other "questionable" site and then visit your company's web pages they know where you've been!

Here are the results, to date, of millions of tests:

They still use Peter's pic sometimes but he sold the company years ago (I met him once).

Sure your IP isn't just masked by a firewall?

Try this too... scan your pc:

Security Fixes identifies known vulnerabilities in your software applications and operating system and provides you with all the information required to patch the problems.

AND:

Check your PC for software updates

This FREE service from CNET Networks automatically scans your PC and informs you of any out of date software and provides you with a customized list of software that can be updated.

I give up

I give up trying to protect my computer...anything I don't want anyone to see I keep either hosted on my web page or on a blank cd. I used to to run antivirus software have a firewall up and run zone alarm...and somehow I still would get viruses when I checked. I don't even have a firewall up now I just leave my pc connected 24/7 and reformat once a month.

Okay Mr. Wizard. What does all of this mean?

Symantec Security Check has determined that the Internet Protocol (IP) address used by your computer to connect to the Internet cannot be scanned. Your computer cannot be scanned because it is behind a firewall, proxy server, or uses Network Address Translation (NAT) to share IP addresses. As such, Symantec Security Check cannot run the Network Vulnerability Scan, the NetBIOS Availability Scan, and the Active Trojan Horse Scan on your computer.
Select Continue to complete the remaining scans that do not need an IP address.

It means you're well protected. If they can't scan it, then its not vulnerable.
