The model in the picture is not Amber though. Amber is much younger with auburn hair curled elegantly and tied up in the back and big brown eyes.

The street lights seemed to blur together and huge droplets of water slipped off her windshield in a relentless torrent of rain. It was a half hour till midnight, the time of her curfew rapidly approaching. If she didn't get home soon her parents would surely kill her. Prom had ended two hours ago! They'd know she'd been up to no good. They'd know it! She'd swallowed a hundred breath mints when they left the after party, but they'd be able to tell she'd been drinking and partying and not at her friend's house like she'd promised.

"Would you chill out babe? Everything's gonna be fine," Her date insisted. He was seated beside her in the passenger seat in a black tux with a golden tie that matched her dress. His light blonde hair was tousled on his head and his blue eyes winked mischievously. His hand was currently slithering up her thigh, and he was leaning in close. The alcohol he'd consumed was evident on his breath, and the whole situation was making Amber incredibly anxious.

"Josh, stop!" she cried as his hand slipped under her golden, shimmery dress and placed his palm aggressively against her thigh.

"Come on, babe. Pull over, there's a back road down this way," his words were slurred and he seemed to decide for himself what to do as his hand left her thigh to cover hers over the wheel and gently steered her in his desired direction.

"Are you nuts?! Stop!" She pressed her heel down on the gas harder, knowing if they were going to take this back road she'd have to make double time. It was probably safer anyway. She wouldn't have to worry about other cars getting in her way or the police catching her on the main roads.

"Amber, it's the least you can do. You made us leave the party early, and you wouldn't even give it up on prom night. Babe, we've been dating for a year now, at least give me some road head or something."

"No! I have to get home!" she replied, speeding up instead. They were now going a good 30 mph over the speed limit, but following the rules of the road were the least of her fears right now. Her parents posed a greater threat.

Amber was in a panic. She almost wanted to keep driving! But common sense told her to pull over. She parked the car on the side of the road and took deep, heaving breath, trying to steady herself, but at the same time believing this to be the end of her parent's trust. Maybe the police man would just give them a warning. It was there last chance.

"Babe, calm down, it'll be all right," Josh told her, for once calming her down rather than adding to her stress.

She didn't reply but jumped when she heard the smack of the policeman's car door behind her snap shut. "Oh god, oh god, oh god," she chanted. She could his boots scraping against the pavement. Josh gripped her hand tightly and tried to straighten out his appearance at the same time when the policeman reached their car.

Amber's face gave everything away and she started to stutter incoherently some ridiculous excuse, but Josh cut in, "Saw us? What have you been doing, following us? That's fucking creepy!"

"Josh!" Amber shouted in outrage. She'd always been taught never to disrespect a police officer, especially if they wanted to get out of this situation without a fine. "Yes, we did leave then, but we didn't go straight home," she admitted, trying to formulate a lie in her head but her words kept coming. "We went to--"

"a hotel." Thankfully, Josh cut her off, and this time his foot was only partially in his mouth. He looked the officer dead in the eyes as he said it. He didn't like the way the officer was scrutinizing his girl.

Amber blushed crimson and her eyes flashed to her lap. She wasn't sure if telling the officer they were off fooling around in some hotel was the best lie, but she supposed it was better than admitting they'd been drinking at some after party.

The police man looked observed this interaction between them with a skeptical smile on his face.

The two teens really didn't know what to say to that. Amber felt embarrassed and Josh felt foolish. There was an uncomfortable silence between the three of them for several long moments before Josh cleared his throat.

"So, uh, you gonna let us go? Err officer? I think we've learned our lesson," Josh said, trying to reason with him.

"Sorry for the disrespect!" Amber cut in, giving the police man a sincere apologetic look.

The two teens stepped out of the car. Amber stood there shakily, but only partially from the alcohol. In the light of the police car, Amber got her first look at the police man. He was around 30, with a slight stubble and clear, blue eyes. His light brown hair was cut short to his scalp and he was looking at them disapprovingly. He would have been handsome had he not had that scowl across his lips.

Amber and Josh stood there, waiting for further instruction. Josh was indignant, but Amber was anxious and just wanted to go home to her warm bed. It was freezing out here!
