Got my taxes done today and they came up 0.00

Actually I get back 30.00 because of the phone excise tax rebate which you should all be taking.

I get back 955 on my State deal.

Now normally I would expect it to be a zero because Im self employed but I never even filed an estimated return at any time throughout the year.

I paid Nothing.....to live in the USA this season.

Yeeehaw!

Yeah, you do, but then there's things that can get added or subtracted at the end of the year.

Some people end up getting money back, some end up paying, and if you do it just right, you break about even.

Thats not a bad system.I might as well walk into the tax office each April(the start of the tax year in U.K)take my pants down and tell them to spank the fuck outa me there and then.It would save them hanging on for a year

Which is nirvana for Chey....

Im sure she'll say I cheated but m happy as shit about it. I fully expected to have to get off my wallet.

Theoretically, if you can manage your money properly, you could pay very little over the year, gain interest on that money, and then pay all of your taxes in one lump sum.

But there's some risk in that... and it takes money management and some financial flexibility.

Getting $955 back means you overpaid over the course of the year.

lol

Not necessarily, at least not in Michigan. You can have paid in nothing in Michigan withhholding and still get a refund if you're eligible for the right credits.

Nice, unless you or your business are the ones paying for it; all that cash has to come from somewhere. No surprise our economy's at or near the worst in the country.

$955 in credits on the state level, but nothing on the federal level, or at least on the federal level they net out to $0? It's a wonder the entire country isn't moving to MI.

Theoretically, you're supposed to pay taxes as you earn the money and that approach could get you penalties for underpayment during the year.

Its based on withholding or prepayments per quarter. If you end up with large tax bill at the end of the year, there is a penalty for not paying more in, during the first three quarters.

I think what KS has discovered is that people with no income, don't pay income taxes.

Jesus.....finally someone gets it.

I had income, but I also have a lot of amortization, deductions standard and otherwise.

I expect this will be the last time tis ever happens, but I did think seeing the zero on the comp screen was kindof cool.

Plus I didnt finance us Invading Iraq this year, and I didn't pay to get our soldiers asses shot off.

And yes. I still whine about the roads.

Taxes? Like when you buy things at the store and even sometimes food? That's all I ever heard about taxes. Unless you mean "Texsas." I been there. Anyway, what taxes? For what? Oh, unless you mean "Taxis." I take those sometimes, but not in Texas.

I wasn't addressing KS.
