Which really deserves a better person to be attached to.

I sliced it open this afternoon, and severed the flexor tendon, the one that lets it curl inward. I have an appointment for surgery, monday morning... They said to expect an eight-hour wait.

One moment of inattention around power tools, my friends; let this be a reminder to us all :(

Ahh so sorry to hear this.....I hate boo boo's.....best of luck on Monday...

There's only one good reason to type one-handed, and this is not it.

I hope your surgery goes well after a wait of not more than an hour and forty minutes, and that you have full, painless use of all your fingers, kung-fu grip included, in the very near future.

Oh, ouch!

I hope they can make it good as new. A careful  for it in the meantime.

I am so sorry.......

For the best post operative therapy I recommend immersion in a warm, wet pussy for several hours, 2-3 times a day..... This worked for me when I had one of those zipper malfunctions..... albeit another anatomical appendage.

It really won't help your finger, but, on the other hand, you won't give a shit either....

May the wait be short, the surgery successful and the rehab period short.

At least it's still attached to your hand! Consider yourself lucky, my friend.

I had a scary oops moment a few years back, cutting 2X4's on a ten-inch chop saw. For some unknown reason (daydreaming ? It was, after all, a very boring job) my left hand got under the blade. It cut a hole in the top of my leather glove. I pulled my hand out in a rush of adrenalin, pulled the glove off, and saw that the blade had taken off one layer of skin on my middle finger knuckle. Another 1/4 inch, and I would have been flipping the bird for the rest of my life. Not a good thing, considering I'm a piano player when I'm not making sawdust.

Yikes! I hope everything goes well for you, Stella.

A  for your owie from the good little witch.

Ouch! I feel your pain - I had a light handshake with a skilsaw back in the day (I'm fine).

Best wishes for your surgery.

Oww! Sorry to hear that you have this to deal with. I hope the surgery goes well, and your finger recovers completely. :rose:

Owch! And here I was bitching about my own right hand pinky getting near sprained because I was carrying a brick-load of groceries (read: booze) home last night.

Thank Buddha it wasn't your whole hand. Get better, Stell. :rose:
