Sydney Sweeney: Blonde, Beautiful, and Suddenly Dangerous

American Eagle’s primary demographic is high school and university students under 25.

But they also have a sub-market of men over 50 for their jeans. Male cougars wear Tommy, Calvin Kline and AE jeans.

That’s why the vintage Mustang GT350 in the ad. Hey boomer.

Sydney Sweeney appeals to white men over 50; that’s why the Rolling Stones used her in their Angry video.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Sydney Sweeney is hawt.

Anyone who beats on her for that is the nazi, not the men who beat off to her.
Is this just a long rationalization to tell everyone that your whack off to her?

Jesus. You know she's not your type. She's way too old.

AE admitted they purposely played on the “jeans” - “genes” homophone precisely because they felt it would be controversial.

They even asked Ms. Sweeney if she was OK with the potential controversiality of the ad’s play on the words (which includes the known history of controversy surrounding the elevation of certain personal appearance features specific to the white race over other races), and she said she was, and that they should lean into it (the controversial elements, apparently):

From the article:

“In the run-up to the ad blitz, the company's chief marketing officer told trade media outlets that it included “clever, even provocative language” and was “definitely going to push buttons."

🤔

😑

I would also say: It’s rather strange that AE didn’t have "beautiful" women of various ethnicities assuming the role of “the woman with great jeans / genes” ready to go in a whole series of similar ads…

Weird…

😑

Maybe there's a niche for her to start working on firearms ads:

“…American Eagle campaign went viral, boosting the brand's stock by 17.65 per cent and adding $400 million in value within 24 hours.”

Good money in triggering snowflakes!

How .any left leaning threads aboth Sweeney exist in this forum?

But yet, it's about the left ...always

In another example of the left's unhinged bigotry against white people-even though they're all white- Billie Elish is now taking heat for saying she liked that the crowd at her concert had an audience that 'looked like her"

This is the same group that claims inclusiveness is having any ethnicity other than white crowing over "Representation and people that look like them." but that's always okay.

Their racism is only rivaled by hypocrisy and their level of mindless hatred. The crowd that looks like them wears hoods and burns crosses. You know, the group they founded?

They are human scum, filth, shit. They are no different than the old time Southern plantation owner.

"No different than a southern plantation owner"

This is something you said without a second thought?

I don't associate with assholes regardless of race, creed, or sexual preferences and there is ZERO difference between the assholes trying to pile on Sweeney and the most rabid, skin head, neo-nazi......................zero.

Yes, because you chose a "southern plantation" without any thought of race

Lmao....holy fuck dude

😳

Lacy makes a valid point: Ad campaigns that are designed with racism in mind, and are intended to provoke anti-racists to the point that ACTUAL racists will “rally to the brand”, ARE very effective / profitable - in the short run, at least.

Also:

The ACTUAL racists, who want to normalize racism / white supremacy, "think" these intentionally provocative ads, and the predictable reactions from the anti-racists & ACTUAL racists, will ultimately favor their side, because they "think" the anti-racists will eventually get frustrated and give up, thus giving the ACTUAL racists “the win”.

👎

I honestly believe ACTUAL Americans will ultimately prove to be better than the ACTUAL racists / white supremacists, and companies like AE that exploit issues of race through provocative ads will be the ones that ultimately pay the price via consumer rejection of their marketing practices/ tactics.

👍

We. Told. Them. So.

"Southern plantation, Southern plantation, Southern plantation!" Do those words trigger you? Good!!!!!!

"SOUTHERN PLANTATION!!!"

*chuckle* But WAIT................there's more.

Sydney got $1,000,000 endorsement fee AND got a piece of the action on a co-branded line that sold out in 2 days. (y)

You're the one who brought it up.

Are you suggesting it wasn't because of race?

The ad is about appealing to men. You’d be hard pressed to find a black man that wouldn’t drool over her..
