Swords, Sex and Sorcery (IC thread)

Well, he understood that enough to still not know how to respond, his cheeks darkening slightly as thoughts of doing the latter danced in to his head, enough that he was convinced her getting closer was his imagination until she shoved him, his total unpreparedness meaning the tiny push made him actually move back a step.

“Ha” he laughed for a second, recognizing that she was making a joke, or at least he thought he was <”well being the delicate little flower that I am, I couldn’t possibly raise a hand against a fellow living thing”> he said with a grin, doing a good impression of a meek little princess <”so we'll have to do horrible horrible naked things to each other instead, just please, be gentle with me.”>

Tarik nodded. "A good plan. It would leave me alone with Lexavier, but I am sure we can find something to talk about."

In spite of the elf's undeniable physical attractiveness, there was no hint of sexual interest in Tarik's words.

"If we can, I'd like to find work that takes us into the wilds. I'd be more comfortable there, and I am sure our druidess would be as well. Of course, I am sure that you and Kat are more at home in the city... we shall have to see what turns up."

Tarik's eyes swept the room, coming to light on the items the tiefling had left behind.

"The half demon is planning to return." he noted, nodding in the direction of the items. "Might not be a good idea to stay here tonight, he seems like the type to try to murder us in our beds."

Nizzre

< “Don’t you know? When drows mate we eat our lovers afterwards. A bloody mess, but good for the skin I hear.” > She went along with the jest; it seemed easier than admitting the truth. Sarcasm was always a good tool for that, she was learning the more she spent time with Zell. There had been little time to joke before, but she was in this new place, a new world so she might as well go along with it. With a roll of those smoldering crimson orbs she took a step closer again, her hands smoothing out over his attire, tugging it into place before her hands smoothed out over the definition of his chest. For a moment she looked almost coy though it lasted for only a moment before she drew her hands away and allowed them to disappear into the folds of her cloak.

< “Judging by your lack of gear I assume we must return to that shithole then?” > Swiftly she changed the subject, if only to keep her mind from traveling towards things that were better left unthought. < “I make no promises I will not slap that stupid smile off that fool’s goat face. Though perhaps I should have more faith in you…” >

Lexy's cheeks flushed at the gesture that Kat displayed, and her words. She was touched in a way she didn't expect. Swallowing hard, she found her voice. "You have my magic, my sickle, my body and my heart." She beamed at her, a smile of hope and happiness, before kissing her softly in return. They were certainly different people, but Lexy knew their hearts beat the same rythem.

The swift change of conversation caught Lexy offguard a little, but she rolled with it, standing up herself and stretching out. She watched with a bemused smile as Kat did her cleansing magic. Her eyes following the curves of her body as she moved about. She caught herself and tore her gaze away. Staring was rude. She began to pull her clothes back on, the short white dress first that went under her leaf plated armour. A naughty thought.. one of many that she had begun to have.. popped into her mind. "So... what do you think of Tarik?... he uh... he's quite.. big isnt he?" Her voice was small, as if that shyness had been pulled on along with the armour. Acting and having things done to you was one thing, but hearing herself talk about it was quite another...

Kat

The catfolk rose with the customary grace and gathered her clothing, tossing it onto the bed before she slid into it. Her skimp panties were draw up over those long toned legs, a vivid red to contrast her dark fur. That black body stocking was wriggled into as well, its laces drawn taut and tied into place. Kat sighed lightly before she ran her fingers through her short mane, smoothing it back though her bangs just fell back into place. As she reached for her sword and buckled the thick leather belt about her slender waist one ear perked towards her lover. A curious glimmer appeared in those amber depths as Kat gave the druidess an equally curious look.

“Oh very big. And big men have big appetites,” Kat said simply, though that smile she wore seemed to want to say more. “He is a jovial fellow and sweet. I have not met one of his kind before so I have nothing to gauge him on from that respect. But I’m not one to stereotype. And what do you think of him, my sweet lil butterfly?”

She said the nickname sweetly, just as she swooped in and snatched up her crimson scarf lined with gold. She threw it about the elf’s shoulders, neatly wrapping it about itself and tucking it into place, just as Kat had worn it before she had given it to Lexy. “Are you wondering what his embrace would feel like?” She tilted her head to the side, taking in the features of the elf slowly. “He picked me up as if I were a child in his arms and held him in an embrace that could crush steel. You felt the desires of our darling Snake, but he was swift, deft, agile. Tarik the red is muscle and strength though I can attest of his gentleness.”

The leather armour he wore stopped him from really feeling her touch as her hands lingered on his chest, but the slight feeling of pressure against his skin made him acutely aware of how much his breathing was making his chest rise and fall under her fingers. It was an odd sensation, Zell wasn’t quite sure how to describe it, but it was over before he could ponder it any further, his brain snapping back to reality just in time to see Nizzres hands disappear behind her cloak.

<“Careful there, I already have enough of an attraction to you”> he said jokingly as the two of them started back towards the bar they had abruptly left earlier <”you start going around hurting people I dont like and we'll have a full blown crush on our hands, then you'll never stop me following you about like a puppy.”>

As Kat got dressed, Lexy drew her Sickle, the sharp point glimmered in the light. She toyed with the tip, before sliding it back into the sheath at her hip. She smiled sheepishly as Kat described Tarik, and then stood patiently, lifting her chin so Kat could wrap the beautiful material round her neck. She inhaled slowly, saviouring the perfumed aroma. "I .. might be. He was sweet and so full of joy at everything.. and I have to say.. handsome." she giggled and shook her head.

"Anyway..." she said, sidestepping Kat and skipping to the door. "Let's go see where our friends are, eh?" Lexy felt emboldened. The fear that had sent her upstairs had washed away with the passions of her lovers. She could count on her friends to protect her, and she knew she could defend herself should she have to. The childhood stories that had plagued her memories were wrong, and she would prove them as such.... When she actually saw the Drow, it might be a different story, but for now, she would go along with the new found confidence.

Kat

She laughed openly at Lexy’s comment, wrinkling her nose impishly before she winked. “You are such a naughty girl.” She commented lightly before she strode towards the door without another thought. One hand went to the hilt of her sword for a brief moment, sliding it into a comfortable place. Her other hand slid out and Kat found Lexy’s delicate grasp, interlacing her fingers and offering a most gentle squeeze. She cast the elf a sidelong glance and her typical smile before she nodded.

“Of course. I’m sure Tarik will be happy to see you,” She teased lightly, her laughter echoing down the hallway as she nudged open the door and lead the young elf towards the stairs. Her tail swayed lightly behind her frame, her pace causal and slow as she enjoyed the walk with her close companion. Together they made their way down the stairs to find both Scully and Tarik at a table by themselves. Kat felt more in control of herself by this time, though she was far from as clear headed as she wound have liked. There was no denying their approach, two lovely beauties holding one another’s hand. It was only as they approached did Kat finally released Lexy’s hand and slid towards the table. She choose the chair beside the rogue, even going as far as to lean in and place a kiss upon his cheek.

“And here you are. I thought to find you bragging somewhere more populous.” Kat teased aloud as she claimed a seat and plucked Scully’s drink from his grasp to take a sip of his ginger ale before placing it back before him. She nestled comfortably into her seat, crossing a leg over the other before she sighed. “Mmm. So where were we?”

Nizzre

< “I suppose a puppy has its uses,” > She commented wryly, that twitch of a smile crossing her lips briefly. The fact he admitted an attraction was nothing shocking, he was after all male and in his prime. If he did not find some hint of attraction to her then no doubt there was something very wrong with him; at least that was Nizzre’s way of thinking. Nizzre kept her pace slow but purposeful, her strides easy and matching Zell’s as she kept pace at his side. The fact that he had tracked her down after her little fit at the price of a duel was not lost to her though it didn’t mean she had to speak on it. She turned her head to regard the tiefling briefly as they walked, her lips twitching once again before she began.

< “I promise you a good show once we find a proper fight. I don’t pull punches nor will I play their little games,” > She said lightly, though who exactly she was referring to she left unsaid.

Scully laughed at Kat's brash entrance. "Like I just got finished telling Chuckles, a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell. I suspect you're a talented storyteller however and wouldn't mind give everyone a dramatic retelling of how the daring rogue plundered the treasure of two gorgeous women."

When she stole a sip of his drink, he reached under the table and gave her ass a hard pinch. "Next one won't be so pleasant," he teased with a wink. He leaned in and whispered in her ear so the others wouldn't hear, "Unless you're the sort of naughty kitten who likes that sort of thing."

He straightened up and took a drink as if nothing had happened. "Chuckles and I were just discussing where to find work. I suggested that you and I hit the streets and use our unique way with people to pull down a few jobs. There's always someone in a city of this size looking for someone else to solve their problems."

"Ladies," grinned Tarik, knowingly, raising a tankard in their direction.

"Aye, Scully and I have just been talking about how our skills seem to complement each others, all four of us. We could almost certainly find paying work as an adventuring company, what do you think?"

Before they could answer, he laughed.

"But how rude of us - we were all hungry before we arrived, the three of you must be starving now, after all that excercise!"

"You should get something inside you..." he said, his eyes twinkling.

If there was one thing Kumio had learned, it was hiding in plain sight. As she had only met this strange group of people, she had not yet made up her mind on how she would proceed. After all, she was used to traveling in only small groups of two or three. Perhaps she should hang back a little and see how things would progress before committing herself to one track just yet.

She merely listened as the tiefling and Tarik planned out their little duel for the short time it took them. She had considered following after them to see how things would go, but that plan fell through. She raised one eyebrow as the drowess fled angrily from the tavern. While Tarik went upstairs to prepare for the duel, Kumio slipped from her seat and made her way silently up to her room.

She pulled her hooded cloak from her bag of holding before securing the bag to her right side. She pulled her cloak on and pulled it closed around her body while pulling her hood over her face. The others might find her methods odd and strange, but that was the way she worked. If she made her way into the group, it would be on her terms.

By the time she made her way back downstairs, she noticed Scully had taken her place at the table. She glanced around for a moment before slipping into a darkened corner within earshot of the table, listening and watching.

Lexy's eyes widened slightly and she gave Kat a little push as she teased her. After a moments silence, she replied... "I hope so" and then giggled. The scene downstairs had changed dramatically, less people, Tarik and Scully on their own and she noticed Kumio sitting not far away. She gave her a pleasant smile before taking a seat between Scully and Tarik.

"Some food sounds nice. Then we definitely should look for work, well... Kat and Scully. I would much prefer something with a nice trek. Being the first port of call, I imagine we'll be competing with any other adventurers that came with us. Perhaps someone should get horses or a wagon of some kind for faster travel." she looked up at Tarik and paused. "Perhaps a big horse?..."

"That's a good point..." rumbled Tarik, looking down at Lexavier with new respect. "We should try to get ahead of the crowds."

But then he shook his head.

"I don't ride... horses." he grinned, throwing a muscular arm around Lexavier and giving her a quick side-ways hug before releasing her. "But don't worry about me slowing you down. Honestly, I'm just as quick on my two hooves as most horses are on four."

He looked around the room, still grinning.

"But you should eat fast, before that half-demon comes back to collect his stuff. You never know, he might even want to fight the duel he challenged me to before he ran away."

Kat

Kat wiggled lightly at the pinch, her ears cocking back slightly and she gave the rogue a dubious look. Though as he leaned in and whispered she returned the favor, a low conspiratorial whisper, “Well you should know. You slapped it enough times.”

She leaned back in her chair and simply laughed, her ears perking once more as they continued with the conversation. Her proud shoulders rolled in a slow shrug before her gaze turned to the two men fully.

“As good a plan as any. If the work doesn’t come to you, you come to the work. With an influx of this many people there is bound to be something out there. Though I hope it’s at least on the level.” She tilted her head to the side and gave Scully a sidelong glance before her hand slid out to tug at his braid. “It is a perfect time to start anew, hm?”

“I already had a few things inside of me, though I would prefer another slick slab of meat,” Kat smacked her lips and wiggled her eyebrows a little over-exaggeratedly, brandishing a wide grin that displayed those slightly elongated fangs. And as the barmaid came that was just what Kat ordered, a steak flame kissed with whatever the house decided to pile on the side. Instead of downing another ale the feline shied away from any liquor and opted for some water. With the ordering done she settled back into her chair, just in time to hear Lexy’s ideas as well.

“I’m not much for a wagon, or a horse for that matter. But I see the benefit of mounted travel. If only we could fly...” She said with a sigh, almost dreamily as she leaned back into her chair fully, her arms raising and crossing behind her head to support it.

Lexy considered Tarik's jovial warning, and her face set with a determined expression. "I'm not worried. We'll be ok.. together." she said, looking round their faces, her lips splitting to a much happier smile. "Together.." she repeated, more to herself. She wasn't really considering the Half-Demon ... but more of that Drow, that was sure to return with him.

She remained silent at Kat's obvious double-entendre. Although a slight flush came to her cheeks as the memory whizzed past. She caught the attention of the barmaid and asked for a fruit, preferably sweet, and several moments later was feasting on a bowl of succulant melon and pear.

"I can fly..." she replied nonchalantly. "I can change into an Eagle." she giggled, "I dont fly all that well mind..."

With surprising deftness for one so big, Tarik boldy snagged a piece of pear from Lexavier's bowl.

He looked down at her as he popped it delicately onto his large tongue.

"Mmm..." her murmured. "Sweet and juicy." Then he grinned hugely. "The pear isn't bad either." He dropped a hand to her knee and gave it a playful squeeze.

"An eagle you say? That sounds useful..." he began to look at her with a new interest. "What other skills do you have?"

Zell wasn’t entirely sure what she meant when she said she wasn’t going to play their little games, it sounded like something important to her though, so he filed the statement away in his memory so he could figure it out later, rather than getting it wrong by saying something immediately. In truth though, what he found more intriguing was her comment on how a 'puppy' could have its uses, it threw up quite a few ideas in his head, but he quickly dismissed all of it, she was just getting in to the swing of joking around and he was looking in to it too hard.

“Here we are” he said with some hesitance as they neared the tavern, if the Goat was still there then things could get messy, Zell was fine to pretend things had never happened, but there was a fat chance of that working if he was the only one doing it. He sighed inwardly and headed inside, quickly making his way to the same table they had been at before without interacting with anyone, though he did note out of the corner of his eye that the rest of goat boys group had returned, he would have to keep an eye on them to see if they split up again, he still wanted to thank the elf there but still wanted to avoid any confrontation with the rest of them.

Kat

Those triangular ears perked sharply as Lexy said off-handedly she possessed the ability to fly. Even as the waitress brought a plate with a thick, juicy hunk of meat, sliced potatoes and vegetables she held a rather incredulous look upon her beautiful features. It wasn’t until Lexy continued that it dawned upon the catfolk the elf’s ability to shape change. Easily she laughed, hoisting a knife and jabbing the meat on her plate, watching the juices dribble out with a curious light in her gaze. While many at the table seemed to enjoy a more leafy diet, Kat was at the core a feline; descended from the large hunting felines like lions and tigers. What she craved was meat, the rawer the better.

“I would love to see that feat,” She admitted with that same genuine smile before she cut into her meal. “If only I could fly by your side. What an amazing song that would make…” Her voice was almost dreamily as she leaned over her plate and began to feast. She literally purred as she devoured her meal, her tail thumping beside her with each passing moment. The catfolk lost herself in her meal, letting the others speak of their skills.

Nizzre

They fell into an easy silence as they walked; the only sound that of their boots on the stones below and the rustle of their cloaks. Nizzre kept her pace even with his own though it never lost that graceful manner. Those crimson orbs lingered intently ahead of herself, not straying to either side or even towards Zell. It wasn’t until they approached the tavern itself that she even seemed to register her surroundings.

“That we are,” She retorted easily, pushing her way in without another thought. If she felt any indication of guilt or remorse for storming out with curses on her tongue she did not show it. Her gaze swept the common room easily, finding the group that had started all the fuss easily. They seemed one less, while the female of singular wordage stood near the door. She paid little either mind though, her crimson orbs flickering towards Zell to see exactly where he was to go.

Scully ordered for himself a simple loaf of bread and an apple. He had to mind his diet since the incident with the poison. It meant less wanton drinking and eating, but the trade-off was that he would live longer and would spend less time vomiting in a gutter. A fair price.

The others were describing their skills when he caught sight of the demon and the drow for earlier. "Fire and ashes," he cursed beneath his breath. "Your two drinking buddies are back, Chuckles. Keep your heads down and maybe they won't bother us."

"Keeping my head low isn't really an option, my friend." rumbled Tarik, but he didn't turn around to look. His height, even seated, and his red mane was quite distinctive, there was no way he had not been seen.

He reached up to scratch at the base of his lopped-off horns with the square nails of his right hand, and his stomachs gurgled loudly as they fought to digest his recent feast.

"Perhaps he has come back to fight the duel he challenged me to..." he added, with a grin. "Seems a poor way to repay somebody for answering your questions honestly but perhaps they do things differently in the pits of hell.

He shook his head in self-mockery.

"It was clearly foolish of me to extend the hand of friendship, for did not Cayden himself say 'Extend a hand to a demon and verily, he shall shit in it?' "

She looked up at Tarik and smiled, a slightly shy look as she thought about her training. "Well... I'm trained to use a variety of different weapons, but I favour my Sickle." She drew the small bladed Sickle, it gleamed in the light. It wasn't very ornate, but rather functional, and merticulously clean and sharp. "I can also cast a variety of spells, mainly nature and weather though. I also quite like forests, growing up there, I know how to survive should we be stuck for longer than we intend."

"I can turn into a few different things, but the Eagle is my favourite." She turned to Kat and grinned, "I would be delighted to show you sometime." She noted the whistful voice when Kat talked about flying. She promised herself to find a way.... but that was for another time...

She noted everyone tense a little and looked over at the door. The sight of the Half-Demon didn't invoke the fear. He looked menacing but it was definitely his voice she had heard, she could tell quite a lot from one's voice. But the Drow. She had to control her breathing, all the talk of bravado had fled as she laid eyes on that evil.. albeit oddly beautiful woman. Everything in her blood told her to run. She inched closer to Tarik unconciously. "What do you think she's doing on the surface?" she asked in a small voice.

Tarik harrumphed. "Probably the same reason we all left our homes. Or rather, for any of the different reasons we all had..."

He ran a finger over the sawn off stub of a horn, and for a moment, his usually jovial face was blank and distant.

The he shook his head dismissively, and his grin returned. He put an arm around Lexacier protectively and looked down at her, eyes shining, his voice dropping to a murmur.

"You have the skills to survive in the wilderness? That's very useful... as are all your magics."

Leaving his arm around her, he looked around the group.

"It occurs to me, though, that I haven;t shared my skills with you... well now..."

He shrugged. "I can run as fast as most horses, fight as well as many warriors - though not as well as somebody dedicated to the art, throw an axe with a fair chance of hitting, and I have a few spells granted to me by the Lucky Drunk. Including a fair amount of healing magic."

He leaned back on his hocks.

"I think that about covers it."

Katt ate her meal in silence, well, that was to say she didn’t try and talk and eat. Her attention was turned solely to the plate before her, the meat sliced into thick hunks before she began to stuff them into her face. She was not a dainty noblewoman nibbling her meal but a feline consuming their kill. She hunched over her plate, elbows on the table as she set to devouring everything on the plate, leaving only the excess juices from the steak. Her ears had pressed flush against her crimson mane and didn’t perk up till she leaned back in her chair with an over-exaggerated sigh, one hand resting upon her stomach. Her tail idly twitched beside her, dangling from the chair as the tip thumped to and fro. She didn’t realize until a silence settled over the table that they had been speaking.

“So what were we talking about now?” She said in that singsong tone, interrupted only by a soft belch she covered partially with her hand. “Hm. You people are missing out...” She commented idly, reaching out to dip her fingertip into the juice of the plate and bring it to her lips to suckle idly.

Kumio gave a little smile as she leaned back against the wall, listening to the gathering group. She gave a slight nod to Lexy when she glanced towards her as she moved into the main tavern area. She was very akin to the metaphorical fly on the wall for the time being.

She crossed her arms across her stomach as she continued to watch and listen. The second one to notice her was the drow, who she gave a slight nod to. She tilted her head a little as she watched to see how the ensuing friction was going to escalate between the gathered group.

Lexy couldn't help but snuggle closer under that protective arm. She briefly flagged a barmaid down for a glass of water, before listening to Tarik explain his talents even as she watched Kat gorge on her steak. She stifled a giggle as she herself daintily plucked a slice of fruit and placed it between her lips. "A healer is certainly a useful ability for the group." she said smiling up at Tarik. "We are most fortunate."

Lexy glanced at Kat and grinned. "I am sure my fruit is just as enjoyable as your steak... Don't get me wrong though, I'm not a vegetarian. It is nature's way for a predator to consume its prey. I just… only eat what I kill… personally…” She trailed off dreamily, thinking of her home forest again. She pulled herself back and looked around at them. "So, we're agreed? Kat and Scully should look for work while Tarik and I look for provisions. Kumio is welcome to join us as well." She didn't look round at the woman, but included her anyway, if she wanted to stay apart, that was her business, but Lexy liked to be polite.

A glass of water was placed before her, and she looked at it curiously. With just her fingertip, she dragged it round the rim of the glass revealing a slightly murky residue. She wriggled free from her pleasant seclusion under that arm and stood. "Excuse me everyone, they seem to have given me a dirty glass..." she picked up that glass and almost skipped over to the bar, trying to keep away from that penetrating Drow gaze...
