No, not the sexual kind. The voting kind.

I wanna know if there is ANYONE posting/reading here that is (a) undecided or (b) able to be word-pummeled into changing her/his position.

A poll is *ahem* coming.

Very undecided. I may very well vote Libertarian.

I am an independent thinker, but Pummel away - it might be fun. :caning:

Actually, I was hoping to demonstrate that the pummeling is a waste of time -- so we can STOP doing it. :)

I need a little clarity before I answer. I've got my mind made up for whom I'm going to vote, but if something major comes up that could change (like if Obama wants to give Wall St. another handout) because I'm not in love with any of them.

Would that count as undecided?

Define pummeling....

And yes I still owe you something darling. I am about halfway done with my edit and when I quit working 80+ hours a week I will finish....

Well, pummeling won't change any of my votes, but if she wears sexy things while she does it I might at least pay attention. :p

The truer representation of my decision is "They both suck monkey balls". I watch the debates and the news coverage and marvel that no one better could be found. Between now and the 4th I'll try to choose the lesser of two suckages.

I keep remembering Douglas Adams' adage "any one who wants to be president is unfit for the job".

must... not... pummel... must... not... pummel...

oh hell.

The choice of Sarah Palin should be adequate proof of greater suckage!

I have no vote in the US Presidential election because I'm not a US citizen.

Those who are now, or have been, uncommitted to either ticket are likely to decide who wins.

What I would like to say is no matter who you support - get out and vote! It is your duty as a citizen of a democracy to vote even if the decision is difficult.

Yesterday we had a local bye-election for a county councillor because the incumbent had died. His widow won with nearly half of all votes cast. There were five candidates.

Only 23% of the registered electors voted. That makes me feel sad.

8% of those voting supported the British National Party. That makes me even sadder.

We in the UK can only vote because many troops died to preserve our right to vote. Many of those who died were US citizens. Next week I will pay my respects to them in the cemeteries behind the D-Day beaches. I will never forget how much I, my country, Europe and the free world owe to those who fought, those who died and those who survived.

Use your vote. Americans paid heavily in World War Two to guarantee that you have the right to choose your government.

Yeah that was a bone head move, but so was Dan Quayle (not for the potatoe debacle, but just his general lack of presence in any situation). There's a lot I don't like about McCain specifically and Republicans in general. I'm still trying to find a party that represents my point of view, and a candidate who has the balls to voice them.

Pummel away Weasel Chow, I still respect you in the morning ;)

I used to be undecided. Then McCain picked Palin and went wacko.

However, dh is still undecided.

Yeah. Good point. Especially when her running mate has exactly 0% respect for women (NTM dumping the loyal one and dissing the other in public).

baby steps, baby steps. Let us get through these next four years in one peice, and we can start to regroup. I'd vote libertarian, believe it or not, about three-quarters of the time, except that I know damn well it's a two-party system on the national level. An independent vote, this November, is a vote thrown away. Look at the way Nader split the progressive vote in 00, handing the country to Bush.

I picked my choice in your poll before remembering that I'm ineligible to vote.

I'm not used to this. Four years ago I'd only been here for a year, and I still felt like an outsider, like it wasn't my politics to meddle with, so there was no way I would have felt qualified to vote. This time it's different, because I've had to live with so many mistakes of the last four years, and I've been witness to all of the campaigning. I care a lot more. I live here now, I'm not just a student on a visa anymore.

I'm voting for fieryjen on the clothes pin ticket!

I'm undecided. If I thought I could believe a word anyone involved said, the choice would be considerably easier. As it is, I feel like I'm trying to read minds to figure out anything about what they will actually do if elected.

Cuts no ice with me. I've been hearing precisely the same argument from the Democrats every year since Perot. A substantial part of the reason they haven't gotten my vote is that they continue to insist that the problem is with the idiot voters, rather than asking if it might happen to be with the candidates and their platforms. How the party bigwigs have managed to cling to their sense of entitlement through two disastrous campaigns is beyond me, but the fact that I'm hearing it yet again for this election suggests to me that they really will never listen to any of the concerns that have lost them my vote in years past.

It would have been, and I would have been highly grateful for its help in making the decision - except that Obama chose Biden, of all people. I can only imagine the discussion that led to this:

"You know, we really have just about everything covered. We've got good appeals to minorities, fundamentalist liberals, social liberals ... "

"Yeah. The only thing I can think of that we're missing is a massive loose-canon liability who creates bizarre quotes that will bite us in the ass for years to come."

"Hmm. Think Prince Philip's available?"

"Nah, tried the palace already."

"OK. Let's go with Joe Biden."

Hell yeah! That's a great ticket - Jen and BlackShanglan!

Bring it on evil dictator's our new motto is: Talk smartly and carry a big tit!"

Plus we would finally have a President who would actually know what the hell the Governor of California is trying to say!

Bring it on evil dictator's our new motto is: Talk smartly and carry a big tit!"

Now there's a platform I can support. I pledge to put a bale of oats in every kitchen and to veto any bill more than a page long. No more porky pies in the small print!

Ha! I must say, though, that I adore Prince Philip; I simply cannot fault anyone who would say to the Queen immediately after her coronation: "Where did you get that hat?"

He is everything a decorative monarchy can be, should be, and inevitably is.
