Sweet's Sitting Room

Because Beauty is Not a Size Zero

I've recently started volunteering with an organization here in New York that is all about helping girls to embrace their beauty both inside and out. It's such a rewarding experience to work with these girls and I absolutely love it. But, there is one thing that I can't help but notice as I work with these girls, every single one of them is constantly saying how fat she is and how no one will love her unless she looks like a model. This is not right! The stigma of size that is imposed on society is disgusting.

As a young girl I, too, struggled with my weight. At the age of fourteen I was starving myself and even went so far as to make myself throw up a few times. I have had long conversations with a lot of the girls about the toll that way of thinking had on me. It wasn't until a few years ago that I truly learned to embrace my body and learned to live a healthy lifestyle.

Here on Lit I subscribe to this beautiful thread called Size Positive Hotness and I just have to give a shout out to the beautiful ladies who began this thread. I've noticed a lot of hate coming their way because of the fact that they want people to embrace the curves that women are born with. All I have to say is that we, as women, need to change the definition of beauty. It is not about the size of your jeans. It is not about having a thigh gap. It is about embracing who you are as a person. It is about shining with the light of your inner beauty.

In honor of embracing the inner beauty of a woman's spirit, here are a few images that I believe show that beauty is not about being a size zero.

Okay, rant over now. Enjoy the photos ;)

I find, as I think many men do, that the stick thin model shape is not at all appealing. Nice pictures, curves are beautiful!
I also prefer ladies around 30, 35 - 45, and have no fetish for young girls.

Come on in and have a seat. Glass of wine? Fresh baked cookie? Help yourself.

Welcome to my own little comfy corner of the Lit world. I hope you enjoy your stay.

I didn't go through all the pages of this thread yet just the first couple and I thought I'd just say how nice I thought this was, I think ya got a nice little joint going for ya. It's refreshing.

Why thank you! And I hope you enjoy the rest of your visit. :)

Wandering in off the street with a carrier of a few cups of coffee and a plastic bag full of wine coolers left over from trying to hit on co-eds at a bible church mixer; he slides down into a sitting room offers the extra latte to the host, and flips through the pages of previous posts.

Definitely a place for good inspiration here, Sweet.

Well, now I'm just drooling. Good to see you around-been a while, it seems :)

It has been awhile and it's good to be back. :)

Mmm, I love a good latte. Thanks, Arctic, I hope you enjoy all my inspiration.

Settles back into a chair, sighing from the long weekend, watching as you hang these photos on the wall. Goodness, Sweet, what I wouldn't give to get a glimpse of just what might be going around in your head when you post something like this…..

You don't even want to know what goes on in my head when I post images like this.

*Smirks* Now, if that were true, I wouldn't keep coming back to this thread or be subscribed to your RP threads, no would I? ;)

Very true. Though, I have to admit that the things that go on in my pretty little head are far more naughty than what I put on paper.

Of course. I think many of us are of the same mind. There are some things that we keep to ourselves, for any number of reasons. I happen to enjoy the figurative peek behind the curtain, b/c your pieces are so well put together.
