Yes, I know… does anyone really need another thread? 😂

I did consider starting an ampics thread again, but I don’t think that’s something I’ll be doing (too much pressure).
Will I post pics of me on here? Maybe. 🤔

Instead, I thought I’d make a little space for all the bits and pieces that make up my world.

A bit of everything, really, with no particular theme or agenda. Just things I enjoy, things that catch my eye, and whatever I feel like sharing along the way.

Anyway, that’s the idea :3 🖤

Currently Watching:
Carrie by Mike Flanagan (Episode 7)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ (4/5) so far!

I’m enjoying this series, but in my opinion, Flanagan’s portrayal of Carrie feels quite removed from Stephen King’s original novel. Book Carrie is described as grotesquely unattractive, awkward, and physically unappealing, adding to her social isolation and making her an even more tragic, deeply misunderstood character.

As much as I’m enjoying the adaptation, I feel that something essential about King’s original Carrie has been lost in translation.
But I am taking this in as a solo piece, as an interpretation of it only.

Question
As a Southern Hemisphere born, October for me always felt like Sunshine, flowers, warm days and Halloween wasn't/isn't a big celebration.

For you is about weather environment?
Autumn working his "Magic?"

Now living in the Northern part of America I get more melancholic, but remembering those times when I was "down there"

Funny, I was also born in the southern hemisphere. Even as a little kid when I went to school, it was an all-girl American nun run school. So Halloween was always around for me.

Yes it is about weather and the environment! About the seasons changing, about the leaves changing, the passing of time..
Autumn working his "Magic?"
Exactly!

It’s so funny how different it is! Where I lived when I was little, it was more like wet season versus summer, rather than having four distinct seasons. I love where I live now because you really get to experience each season and watch everything change throughout the year. There’s something so special about the fresh blooms in spring, the warmth and long days of summer, the beautiful colours of fall, and the cozy feeling of winter. It makes every season feel unique, and I love how each one brings its own kind of beauty. (Yes you will see me complain about the cold and snow!)

And autumn is the best! It had also always meant the start of a new school year (total nerd, I know..), new school supplies, and a fresh start.

There’s just something about the change in seasons that I love, especially when it comes to clothes! Sweaters, boots, scarves, cozy layers, all the fall colours!! I love it all.
It just feels like such a melancholic yet cozy, exciting time of year, and I look forward to it every year! Also start of the holiday season.
Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas around the corner!
Holy long reply sorry!

i watched the first episode...it feels so dark to me...the behavior of the kids towards carrie seems so unnecessarily evil to me. i know thats the point, but its hard for me to watch. a lot of victim claiming when its their actions that have consequences.

It is vile!! Humans can be absolutely horrible.
And that’s why I love it and studied Criminology.

Okay not actually, but I love dark things.
At the same time I love pink and pretty and soft things. You know the meme of the two Santa Monica houses where one is pink and one is black.
I’m both 😂

Pssst, your emoji is broken!

We’re watching Army of Darkness, son has never seen it.

Seasons: we lived in Puerto Rico for three years. While the locals noticed the seasons, I felt like there were two. Really fucking hot and wet vs mostly hot and slightly less humidity. I loved it, but it is nice being where there are four seasons (even though yesterday was 90).

Oh I so have to revisit this series soon. It’s been a long time.
Hope he enjoys it!

Sorry your Freedom units don’t compute here! 🤷🏻‍♀
Sounds hot though.

Yeah lol 😂 it’s so funny how everyone has such a different relationship to weather in those kinds of climates.
I think I’d miss seasons but I’d love the beach 😍

Yay!

Gah. -30 and divide by 2 for ~ 30 degrees in the socialist deviant societies that use Commie Units.

It was a valid trade off.
